I've seen this movie so many times as a kid and still really enjoyed it, love everything about this movie. Nice 35MM showing!

    I have questions.
    1. How was a 35mm showing of Ratatouille possible?

They probably bought it off eBay, they sell theatrical film reels of movies if you look hard enough. Granted, you have to pay $1000+ for them, genuine film reels aren’t cheap.

Some theaters make events where they show classic films. They usually use digital projectors to show them, but some theaters buy 16/35/70mm projectors and film reels for some screenings.

Why does the ending of 35mm film have more film grain than the preceding credits in most cases? Does the black background just help cover the film grain or..?

It’s the very end of the film, which is handled more and exposed to more dust and debris. You’ll notice more debris at the very end and very beginning of reels where it’s spliced, roughly 5-6 times through.
