@@terriz7791I find it under Gifts & Gear and then select Cooler Bags. You can select Coke, Diet Coke, Bottled Water, Beer, or Hard seltzer. Six drinks ranges from $23.99 to $43.99 - the water and soda are cheaper than the beer or hard seltzers.
Instead of buying different or multiple luggage tag holders, print the tags and have them laminated. This can be done easily and inexpensively at Staples. Then use a zip tie to attach it to your luggage. When done, you have a keepsake. Then you don't have to worry about buying several different holders that change size dependent on the cruise line. Zip ties are easy to find at dollar tree and most hardware stores.
1) I take some blue "painter's tape" (1 inch strips on top of each other) to put over the small electronic lights in the cabin ( e.g. TV) since those tiny lights bother my husband and me at night. 2) A few post-it notes for a variety of uses.
I hate neck lanyards, so I always wear a wrist coil that has a keychain attached. I have Guest Services punch a hole at the edge of my sea card, then put the sea card on the coil keychain. That way I never lose it.
I use nearly every item on your list, but I do add a few more items-a zippered wet bag for the water shoes and swim suits, liquid hand soap, a small hanging mesh toiletry bag with pockets to put items that you would normally have inside the shower and on your bathroom counter (great for toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, deodorant, Q-tips in a case, etc.) and a travel silicone sleeve for my curling iron. I definitely also pack reusable metal straws, pop up hamper, magnetic hooks, plug-in charger port, passport wallet, charging cord organizer, poo pouri spray, bug spray, reef safe sunscreen with sand flea repellent, cruise luggage tags, door magnets for the stateroom door, water bottle, beach bag, travel plastic hangers, lanyards, and Fanny pack.
Great video, I love your dress. I always bring a cheap watch that I set to ship time so I don’t have to worry about being confused about port time vs ship time 🚢
I do have motion sickness and always use Bonine because it lasts 12 hours versus Dramamine that lasts 4. At the first sign of a cold, i use ZICAM every 3 hours, as directed. Ive been using it for years. It truly does work along with ColdEase which has Zinc. I also take with us Mucinex in case of a chest cold. I knew of using magnets. However, i did not know of the 50lb weight capacity hooks. I also take small pocket size hand sanitizer bottles (a few in case I lose or forget them somewhere on the ship). I also take some medium size bottles to refill the small ones as needed. Any time we touch hand rails or anything that we could potentially get sick by not washing or using sanitizer in a pinch, we have it if needed. Whether it be in a hotel room or cruise ship, I ALWAYS take chlorox wipes. Before unpacking, wherever we are, I wipe down everything, including the TV remote and phone, the door handles, and anything we would touch. We are going on a Mediterranean cruise next year for close to a month, and it helps to be diligent when traveling. Thank you for all of your suggestions and videos. 😊
My wife recently purchased that Grace Karin Halter Neck dress you’re wearing and I purchased that Blue and White Caribbean Shirt hanging behind you. We love having your help for cruise essentials! Thanks.
I have actually purchased that same dress you are wearing as well as a couple of others you have shown in other videos. The dress you are wearing I also purchased a shorter version and a different pattern. It is super cute as well.
Picked this one up from Gary Bembridge... tiny travel tooth repair kit. There is only a dr. onboard, not a dentist! I use a locking safe on beach excursions that's MUCH larger than the plastic ones, and is made of 1000 denier rip-stop fabric. It's also a backpack and holds my snorkel equipment with room to spare! It's called the Lewis N. Clark WaterSeals Backpack
Hi, Ilana! One item that I never see mentioned is a nail brush, especially if you will be going to the beach. I always seem to come back to the ship with a little sand stuck under my fingernails and wish I had brought my brush along from home. I found a small one, don’t remember where, probably the dollar store, and keep it with my travel supplies. It’s a small thing, but a necessity for me.
Target has that black mesh tote bag with the outsode pockets in various colors and patterns. Theyve carried them every hear simce I first bouhht one in 2018. Price is $10-15.
I've been an NCL Shareholder for several years and have more than made up the cost of the stock with the Shareholder benefit. Just a note for new shareholders. Only one shareholder benefit per cabin, and you must send your benefit request in fire each cruise to receive the benefit. They do transfer to a changed cruise if you have already received the benefit and move to a different itinerary, because your booking number stays the same!
A travel hack for the adapter, I now take one to plug in the bathroom (since there is usually a European plug in there for razors), and I put a night light in it. Neither take up much room and I have an additional plug in the room if needed.
We took Bonine on our cruise last summer because of your recommendation. My son, who gets VERY seasick, started taking it before we embarked. He kept up with his doses and never had any issues!
I always bring a mini cable lock that I can loop through the eyelets on my backpack and strap to a fixed item, making it into a portable safe while on a beach excursion or an additional safe place while in the cabin.
Even though I have no cruises booked for the immediate future, I still love watching your videos and I always make notes on your tips and accessory suggestions. They made our first cruise SO much more enjoyable and easy.
In another video you mentioned plastic i.e. sandwich or quart bags. This is something we will take on next cruise. The travel adapters are very important for us . A spare charging cable is also a good idea as I have found the cables are not as durable as one would think. Great video
I started watching your channel before going on my first cruise - an 8-day cruise to Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao last month. Your tips were essential to us and the trip we took. I bought so many things you suggested, and they were PERFECT and enhanced the experience. We've been bitten by the bug - already booked a cruise to Alaska for next April. Thanks for all you do - you really made a difference in our first cruise!!
Oooo the liquid IV packs is a good idea!! Even if you don’t get the drink package and go to the Carribean, especially, it is so easy to become dehydrated.
I just came back from my first cruise (NCL Pearl) I was travelling with 7 people who were experienced cruisers. From watching your videos I had brought a luggage tag holder and everyone was super impressed so now I’m buying a bunch for Christmas gifts 😅 - Something I would maybe consider adding to this incredible list is tampons I am so thankful I brought a box because where I was travelling they were impossible to find and the onboard shops are closed when in port and even when they were open I noticed they only had a tiny box for a massive price tag 😅
Most people have smart phones that have an alarm function and also a torch function if you need to get up and use the bathroom during the night. After watching one of your other videos I have bought the re-usable see through luggage tags. Such a good idea.
I am really sensitve to motion sickness, and have been since I was a child (I thought I would grow out of it but never did). I will never travel without motion sickness relief. The cruise we came back from in April had really rocky sea days and I knew that if I wasn't wearing the patches (we call them something different down here) I would have been absolutely miserable. I was absolutely fine and I am so glad I didn't listen to people who said "its too big to rock". Uhuh.
We went on our first cruise in many years last January - Panama Canal full transit and it was AWSOME!!. I watched many of your videos and found them so helpful. I bought a set of the magnetic hooks, which I wasn't convinced I really needed, but they were so helpful in keeping things organized. We are doing an east coast fall cruise in September and I'm enjoying watching more of your videos. Yours always seem honest and interesting - thanks! One thing you didn't touch on that I'd be interesting in hearing you talk about is ways to "wear" one's Princess medallion.
Going on Royal Caribbean cruise in June. I haven’t been on a cruise in over 10+ years. These tips are great! I can’t wait to sail away and say, “I’m so thankful Ilana told me to bring this” 😊☺️
Love all of your videos! Very informative! We went on our first cruise the end of April. I bought a lot of your suggestions: packing cubes, magnet hooks, nightlight, lanyards, luggage tag holder, hanging toiletry bags and the list goes on… and on! 😊 It made our cabin organized with that pop-up hamper as well! Thanks for what you do!
I followed your videos before our last cruise in 2022 and found them so useful. We are now getting ready for a cruise to Scandinavia, so in preparation, I am watching your current videos and again finding them very helpful. I'm amazed at how much I had forgotten from our 2022 cruise. Thank you!
Ilana, we are currently on our very first cruise to Alaska. I just wanted to tell you, Thanks to all your tips and videos and all your social media, including your life well cruise guide, we are having the time of our life and feel so spoiled. We were so prepared! Not only did we make sure we had all the essentials, we even ordered flowers to our room to make it that much more special. I love that tip! Other than a little bit of seasickness, we had a beautiful, comfortable, romantic trip. Keep up the good work! Much love to you!
I doubled the use of towel bands for exercise bands. I also use the silicone bottle covers in my gym bag at home. Water shoes are fantastic when the beach sand or pool deck is very hot. And some excursions require closed toe water footwear. they pack up so small too.
Hey my friend just got off Meraviglia 8days from Brooklyn to Canada and NE, anyways your recommendations has been very practical. The magnets are the best because they can also be use them on the ceiling and hang clothes that you need to spray wrinkle release to remove wrinkles before going to dinner or whatever.
@@LifeWellCruised it was great, this is my 4th MSC Cruise and I can easily say they are taking feedback and listening. The ship was great as usual but I have to say this is my first non Caribbean cruise and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved Every stop, Newport was great, Boston, Maine, St John and Halifax all great … btw I’ve also done Mariner and Harmony with Royal in 2019 before covid, switched to MSC for the value
I love your videos! I’ve purchased a lot of things on your lists from various videos. I cruise solo next week on RC Adventure and will be gone 8 days! I’m super excited! My second cruise.😊
I have that pink jewelry pouch. I keep it in my personal item bag when I travel. I actually tried the shoe organizer on my last 2 cruises, and I love the idea. I kept all the knick knacks in there such as sunscreen, bug spray, otc meds, hair accessories, etc. Came in handy. I brought a mesh laundry bag instead of the pop-up hamper. Afraid it might not fold back down. I always take the classic must haves as well...charger port, magnetic hooks, magnetic clips, my own straws, travel coffee mugs, lanyards, and the cruise luggage tags. I also bring a beach tote or foldable backpack for excursions. This is a good video.
I used a portable safe for the first time on our cruise in March. We went on a beach excursion. I put all our valuables in the safe and hooked it between two chairs so it was pretty much hidden as well as locked down. We felt very secure while in the water and the safe was easy to use!
I also bring 4 of those microfiber beach towels. They roll up well, dry quickly, and take up very little room. In a pinch they can be used like a sarong. I really prefer them at the beach and dont habe to worry about rembering to return beach towels to the towel shack. Costco has been 6 them for a few years. 2 brands. 6-8 designs per brand. $7.99-9.99/towel. At the end of the summer the price drops, too.
My husband and I have gone on several cruises, BUT this time my mom is joining us, and it’s her first time! I love watching your videos to send to her so she knows what to expect. It’s also a nice refresher for me 😊
I bought the travel safes. IMPORTANT to note is, once you change to your combo, it does not work. I thought I was going crazy, but it's a common complaint. However, it does work with the key, which defeats the purpose, but I think they are great. Eye glass repair kit, sewing kit and filling repair kit. I know you've mentioned them before. Thank you so much for these ideas!! Trans Atlantic Sun Princess booked for September!! xoxo
I started following you 4 years ago when my husband and took our first cruise and I have 80-85% of the items you mentioned today. They are a must. You are wonderful. Thanks for all your helpful advice. Have a blessed day!!
We use those portable straws on the ship and especially when we go to Disney and other parks when we want a non paper straw. I also love the small jewelry box that I also use.
Motion sickness medicine I buy my husband Gravol brand which is from a Canadian pharmaceutical you can buy it in Canada or Amazon. 4 years ago we were taking a cruise and my husband ran out of his medicine and we found this brand and works wonderful for him non drowsy. Now that is the only medication he takes. They also have Gravol Ginger. Anything else he used before will make him drowsy.
You are so helpful, informative, and enjoyable! I am so thankful for your channel in preparing me for our first cruise this coming November. I don’t think I could do it without you!! ❤
If your hair tends to go limp in humid climates, pack dry shampoo. It is also God for quick touch ups. Also, save yourself some money. Pack a small hygiene case for your carry on so you can pack your larger items in your checked bag that is often already gone before disembarking.
First, I love your cruise planner. The thing I liked most is the clothes planner. It was the first time ever where I didn’t overpack. It was perfect. I also liked the countdown to cruise day planner. As for the different things I pack, I take foaming soap for the bathroom. It’s what I use at home. I also buy those air fresheners that are cone shape. I get it at the dollar store. Thanks for the great advice
I am shocked and delighted that even though I’ve only been with you for a month, I have MOST of these things! So many from your Amazon list already, some around the house that I wouldn’t have thought to bring! Just got my 50lb magnets & magnet clips from your links, I’m so excited for my lil 3 day cruise in July lol
Thank you so much for the comprehensive list. We leave for our cruise in a month so I'll be ordering my essentials now. I greatly appreciate your links and happy to support you.
One more question/idea for Ilana: Love these videos and hoping to go on a cruise soon. I think a video on the main cruise lines "toiletries" would be great. What type of shampoo and/or conditioner do they provide? Soap/body wash? And most important - HAIR DRYERS! What is the wattage and does it include a "cool shot" button. I haven't been on a ship since 1995 so this info may be obvious to some - but just a "101" video of what they have vs. what I would need would be awesome. Loving the "cruising 101" series - Thank you!
My cruise was last year and I’m still watching!! lol!! It was my first cruise can’t wait to go again! Favourite tips I learned from Illana: magnetic hooks, packing cubes and store suitcases under the bed. just to name a few
A new fan here enjoying your cruise reports. However your channel is unique: your adventures on various cruises are a joy to watch but the many clips of so much valuable advice (tips) make your channel stand out. Many thanks 🙏
Thank you we have gotten the hooks, we had the phone cover to keep them dry, I can see getting the pop-up hamper the organizers, and a lot more of the items we don't already have Thanks a bunch for all the hard work you do to keep your viewers informed.❤❤❤
Fantastic video! I will be purchasing many of these items for my December cruise. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Much appreciated😊
Thank you for your videos! I'm going on my 1st cruise this July and feel well-prepared. I've got my Amazon list ready but probably should start purchasing a few things ever week so I'm not hit will a big Amazon bill before I go on my cruise! Your videos are SO helpful! :)
We will be cruising again later this year after a loooong time😅, and my son's (age 6) first cruise. Glad I came across your channel--lots of great information in your videos. Thank you!
Your Vides are always helpful but sometimes you have us packing too much unused stuff. Ziplock bags are a must and often do double duty. Love you just the same.
Thank you! I leave next Thursday and I’m ordering some of this now! I love your advice and videos’ and you are the first person I look for when going to a new island or trying a new ship. I ALWAYS love your advice! Thank you for all you do!
My fave items you mentioned are: magnets, small jewelry flat case, luggage tag holders, foldable hangers. I even purchased the bagpack you recommended, and it holds a lot. Thank you for all of these ideas. Love you videos.
Thank you, Ilana! I have purchased several of the items you've listed. Our next trip is in November and I plan to buy a few more items you highlighted today.
Ilana, May I ask what brand/brands of undergarments you wear for under your dresses? specifically bras? we seem to be built very similarly and I have a hard time finding affordable options that don't create pancake bewbs! you always look so well put together so I thought I would ask! Thanks!
I use quite a number of the items on your list and they have been very useful (love the motion sensor nightlight!). My favorite for not just cruising but any kind of traveling, however, is the Inui charger. I've recommended it to many others and gifted it to my son-in-law, it's the best charger ever!
Been watching your videos for the last two months and rewatching as our Alaska cruise will be this sept 21. Very helpful 👍. Thanks so much and keep sharing ❤. Btw what’s your recommended travel insurance? Thanks Ilana. God be with you always 🙏🏼
These are great HOWEVER we just got back from Disney Fantasy and my non surge protected charging cube wad confiscated as well as my over the door mesh organizer. We got a note in our luggage and we were able to get them back when we were done with the cruise.
Bonine vs Dramamine vs Dramamine Naturals.....the active ingredient in some "meclizine" is an antihistamine which addresses and head "woozy" issues if that's where your motion sickness starts.....the Dramamine Naturals and other brands' active ingredient is "ginger" which helps your tummy if that's where your motion sickness first starts.
I have several of your recommended cruise essentials, and I have not been disappointed. I'm looking into the compression packing cubes to stay organized. My favorites are the toiletry bag, the bag for electronics, the nautical bag, and the magnetic clips. I'm a solo traveler, so as you said, I chose what works for me. BTW, love your dresses.😊
Here's a royal caribbean tip, if you pay to stock your fridge with water or soda it comes with a free insulated beach bag.
Love that!!
How much does that cost?
How do you pay to have your fridge stocked? I’m going on a Royal cruise in 19 days
I don’t remember having a fridge in our room.

Double-sided fashion tape, you can get the tape roll or pre-cut strips. Helps avoid fashion incidents, can replace safe pins and fix hems.

The magnets are the best because they can also be use them on the ceiling and hang clothes that you need to spray wrinkle release to remove wrinkles before going to dinner or whatever.
Very true! How was your cruise?
@@LifeWellCruised it was great, this is my 4th MSC Cruise and I can easily say they are taking feedback and listening. The ship was great as usual but I have to say this is my first non Caribbean cruise and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved Every stop, Newport was great, Boston, Maine, St John and Halifax all great … btw I’ve also done Mariner and Harmony with Royal in 2019 before covid, switched to MSC for the value
@@milkmanfitness great to hear your experience
I love your videos! I’ve purchased a lot of things on your lists from various videos. I cruise solo next week on RC Adventure and will be gone 8 days! I’m super excited! My second cruise.😊
#1 for me is definitely the pop up hamper, then the magnet hooks.
First time cruisers. Going on Carnival Sunshine. Been watching all of your videos so that we will be prepared
So excited for you! Fun cruise 🛳️🎉
Thanks for sharing!!
I used a portable safe for the first time on our cruise in March. We went on a beach excursion. I put all our valuables in the safe and hooked it between two chairs so it was pretty much hidden as well as locked down. We felt very secure while in the water and the safe was easy to use!
Great to hear it worked well
I also bring 4 of those microfiber beach towels.
My wife and I used Motion Eaze in our last cruise and it worked well, even the smell is really good.
Trans Atlantic Sun Princess booked for September!! xoxo
Thanks for sharing this 👏 enjoy Sun Princess
I started following you 4 years ago when my husband and took our first cruise and I have 80-85% of the items you mentioned today. They are a must. You are wonderful. Thanks for all your helpful advice. Have a blessed day!!
We use those portable straws on the ship and especially when we go to Disney and other parks when we want a non paper straw. I also love the small jewelry box that I also use.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing
The money wallet/ bum bag is essential. Loved the security it gave me travelling around Naples and Barcelona where pick pockets are rife
Good idea
If your hair tends to go limp in humid climates, pack dry shampoo. It is also God for quick touch ups. Also, save yourself some money. Pack a small hygiene case for your carry on so you can pack your larger items in your checked bag that is often already gone before disembarking.
We just came off a 9 day NCL cruise that we vlogged and I can tell you this is spot on . Solid information! 😂 Especially new cruisers , pay attention!
I’m so glad to hear! It really does help to plan those outfits 😂. Thanks for your purchase & feedback 😊
As someone who lived in the Caribbean, put your aloe Vera in the fridge.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Very thorough
Bug spray and binoculars, would not have thought about it, thank you for the recommendations 😊
Your videos are sooo helpful. I have almost have them all. Definitely we are travelling more organized now. Thank you for sharing.
Great Info! I don’t need it all, but want it all 🤣
My cruise isn’t until next year but I still watch all of your videos 🎉
I appreciate that! Let me know if there are videos you’d like to see :)
My cruise was last year and I’m still watching!! lol!! It was my first cruise can’t wait to go again! Favourite tips I learned from Illana: magnetic hooks, packing cubes and store suitcases under the bed. just to name a few
Same lol 😅
Mine isnt until 2026 and I can’t stop watching. I’m starting a bag of cruise essentials already, come on prime days!! lol
A new fan here enjoying your cruise reports. However your channel is unique: your adventures on various cruises are a joy to watch but the many clips of so much valuable advice (tips) make your channel stand out. Many thanks 🙏
Thanks so much. Truly appreciate your comments & you being part of this community
Thank you we have gotten the hooks, we had the phone cover to keep them dry, I can see getting the pop-up hamper the organizers, and a lot more of the items we don't already have
Thanks a bunch for all the hard work you do to keep your viewers informed.❤❤❤
Great Video - Very useful tips , thank you
New sub!! 🎉love all the information here . Going on my first cruse this is soooo helpful thank you !
I binge watched her for our first cruise a couple years ago and we were well prepared for our 1st cruise, thanks to Ilana.
Fantastic video! I will be purchasing many of these items for my December cruise. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Much appreciated😊
Glad the video gave you some ideas. Save for later 🛳️😂
I take a half of a Bonnie in the morning and another half at night…. It keeps that seasickness feeling away
Great video! You’re my cruise go-to resource

@@LifeWellCruised IKR! 🥰🥰
Hi Ilana!! Thx for all the super helpful tips!! Nice to see a fellow Montrealer living the cruise life!! 🎉
I always try to say, these videos are for everyone, but not every item is for everyone :)
Thanks for sharing! That small backpack is genius
Thanks!
I love the compression packing cubes, thank you so much for the great tips!
I use quite a number of the items on your list and they have been very useful (love the motion sensor nightlight!). My favorite for not just cruising but any kind of traveling, however, is the Inui charger. I've recommended it to many others and gifted it to my son-in-law, it's the best charger ever!
I think the travel clock is a must. With the time changes you can get messed up. Thanks for all your info.
So true
Really enjoying this series and the longer videos!
Glad you like them! I appreciate your feedback
Been watching your videos for the last two months and rewatching as our Alaska cruise will be this sept 21. Very helpful 👍. Thanks so much and keep sharing ❤. Btw what’s your recommended travel insurance? Thanks Ilana. God be with you always 🙏🏼
I like to pack light, no matter how long I'll be on vacation.
These are great HOWEVER we just got back from Disney Fantasy and my non surge protected charging cube wad confiscated as well as my over the door mesh organizer. We got a note in our luggage and we were able to get them back when we were done with the cruise.
Peppermint tums good for
Seasickness
Bonine vs Dramamine vs Dramamine Naturals.....the active ingredient in some "meclizine" is an antihistamine which addresses and head "woozy" issues if that's where your motion sickness starts.....the Dramamine Naturals and other brands' active ingredient is "ginger" which helps your tummy if that's where your motion sickness first starts.
Motion sickness starts in and is caused by your ears.
These are fantastic choices! Thank you for making this video, I really enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much 😊
