oh God, when I was 16 I saw these guys and as a tenor, I was seriously impressed... He sang "There's a Land" and "Looking For a City" and blew my mind... I can't sing either of them past 5 steps anymore (not 16... LOL) but this young man was exceptional...
Thank you for having this! I remember watching this on a VHS my grandma had received as a gift from a friend when I was little kid. This was one of my favorite performances!
He does, actually. A quartet called Port City that Terry Carter started. Interestingly, Dale Forbes also is currently part of that group. So Port City consists of this group, minus Jeff Chapman.
Jeff Chapman...what a character! He EASILY has one of the lowest, and best, Bass Voices that you'll hear in Southern Gospel Music. He's been with The Kingdom Heirs since 2002, and he definitely compliments their sounds and songs, through and through. Imagine my shock, when I first realized that this is Jeff Chapman singing here with The Anchormen. Just about the time you think you know somebody... you find out something about them that you'd of never thought was a part of their life. One problem that I have with The Anchormen, and other Gospel Groups, though, is the somewhat puzzling turnover rate in most of them. Seems like some people in the group are here today, and gone tomorrow. There's only one Gospel Group that I can think of, whose vocal lineup has remained the same since their inception, and that's Triumphant Quartet. Eric Bennett at Bass, Scott Inman at Baritone, his dad, Clayton Inman at Lead, and David Sutton at Tenor. Give me a group with that kind of stability anyday!
id love to see a clip of him singing looking for a city

That's a skinny Jeff Chapman! Brian Routh has an excellent tenor voice.
