    SECOND SEASON: th-cam.com/video/baHT2nR5Wr4/w-d-xo.html
    A few notes:
    - We have previously covered some of these battles, but the videos have been outdated graphically and we wanted to present a more clear picture. More battles added, while the research is improved. There will be 2 more episodes covering the expansion of the early Muslim state, and these 2 videos will cover events in North Africa, Iran, Central Asia, Spain, France, and Anatolia among others.
    - Most of the primary sources of this period are Muslim, but they are largely corroborated by the later Byzantine and Iranian sources.
    - Speaking of the Byzantines. We used "Romans" and "Byzantines" interchangeably throughout the video. Some people will not like this, but the words are there to convey meaning and if the meaning is communicated, then we are doing ok.
    - Chill.

Correction: there were a 2 reasons on why Omar relieved Khalid from commanding the Army:
    1) A lot of the muslim soldiers started to get the impression that Khalid must be there in order for them to win. Omar wanted to remove this illusion from their heads for their own sake.
    2) Khalid wanted to make fast decisions based on his own judgment (Abu Baker granted Khalid the freedom to do so) but Omar wanted to oversee any major movement because he was too careful about Rules of engagements especially after receiving complains from the tribes about Khalid as you mentioned and Omar is known for taking complains seriously and questioning the Commanders, Governors and Businessmen about their Ethics to prevent corruption. Even though Khalid is a righteous man but Omar still does’t like operating in the grey area.
Omar’s Nickname is “Al Farouq” which means the one who distinguish between Right and Wrong in even the tiniest situations.
Theres was absolutely no animosity between them, just a disagreement.

When Muslims were very few in numbers and were facing an attack from Meccans, Muhammad (pbuh) prophesized that the key to Yemen, Persia, Rome was given to him. He also prophesized that Muslims will conquer Egypt. And all of it were conquered by Muslims within just a span of few years.

Al-Barā’ ibn ‘Āzib (rA) reports that while digging the trench outside Madinah to repel an approaching army, a massive boulder obstructed them and no ax could break it. With time running out, and with people’s fears and hunger growing, the Prophet ﷺ walked over and picked up the ax. He said, “Bismillāh (In God’s name),” and hammered the boulder, reducing a chunk of it to rubble. He said, “Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Shām; I can see its red palaces at this very moment.” Then he shattered another chunk and said, “Allāhu Akbar! I have been given the keys to Persia; I can see Madain’s white palace.” Then he shattered the last chunk and said, “Allāhu Akbar! I have been given the keys to Yemen. By Allah, I can see the Gates of Sanaa at this very moment from here.”
Regarding Egypt, he ﷺ took its conquest for granted, knowing his Lord’s promise was true. Abū Dharr (rA) narrated: The Prophet ﷺ said:
“You will certainly conquer Egypt, a land in which [a currency called] al-qīrāṭ is customary. When you conquer it, be gracious to its people, for they are entitled to a covenant and [the right of] family bonds. And when you see two men disputing over the place of a brick, then leave [Egypt].”

As 3rd world some middle eastern countries are they have nothing else but religion and education for any chance at advancement. I went from herein the US to JORDAN for 3 years 7th 8th and 9th grades dudes they were so far ahead in curriculum. You had to litteraly memorize everything it was exhausting and really depressing at the same time. I swear my schedule was school till 3 then a tutor of 3 to 4 hours a day other then my own work. But im happy I experienced that. Honestly our education system is letting us and our children down even in private school. Oh and I was in private school here not public I can only imagine. Basically this is mandatory knowledge to even have an attempt at college. Estimates of the number killed by the Spanish Inquisition, which Sixtus IV authorised in a papal bull in 1478, have ranged from 30,000 to 300,000. Some historians are convinced that millions died.
in my country In 2017, the Algerian League for the Defense of Human Rights, an NGO, estimated that the victims of the French colonial rule at over 10 million from 1830 to 1962 .not mentioning 17 nuclear boms experiments .

Bush said that "God" told him to invade Iraq and Afghanistan. Not to mention the DOD was given the president defense reports littered with biblical verses complimenting pictures of the previous days war efforts.
Also, dont forget the last words of the bombing crew that dropped two nuclear bombs that killed millions in japan: "In jesus's name amen"
Now, reverse the situation and imagine if a Muslim leader said that "Allah" told him to invade two countries in lets say Europe and the defense department of his country were giving him reports filled with Quranic verses with pictures of the war.
Or lets say a bombing crew of a Muslim country (for example pakistan) ends their prayer with "In Allah's name ameen" before heading to their bombers to drop two nukes in a european country.

In the western histories I've read, the early Muslim conquests tends to be glossed over, usually stressing that the Romans & Sassanids were depleted after their war and thus implying that the Arabs just lucked out and benefited from an easy opportunity. But this video has shown me that they did go up against some massive armies, fought against overwhelming odds, and wouldn't have succeeded without a great deal of heroism and ingenuity. He was named (The sword of Allah) by prophet Mohamed peace be upon him and maybe be he didn't die fighting because the sword of Allah can't be broken. We have a population of some 350 million people, they claim that one million people have been confirmed as having Corona virus, that's one out of every 350. Your chances of getting hit by lightning is one in 300. Are people wearing hardhats with lighting rods on them to protect themselves from lighting? It's a farce. But because of it, people are paying $600.00 for freezers that wouldn't have sold for $100.00 three months ago. The last one we sold had 200 hits on the advertising in Facebook within 3 hours of posting it, they came from up to 150 miles away for the one freezer we advertised because all the stores sold all they had weeks ago and are saying they won't be able to get any more until August. Of course if they didn't cram their freezers with so much food they block off the circulation of air that causes freezers to fail, they wouldn't need to look for another one. People are crazy. I'm curious to know what it is this is diverting attention from. A .005% chance of getting flu isn't something I'm going to worry about. Don't worry, it's not going to last much longer.

But to answer your question of what it is diverting our attention from, most likely the enormous troop placement that is occuring atm near the Lithuanian, Polish and Ukranian borders. 'Defender 2020' is a farce. More than 1k tanks, and a huge ammount of humvee's, AA-mounts, Troop Transports, Logistical Trucks, over 100k soldiers and a Fleet in the Baltic Sea, is NOT neccesary for a 'Military excercise'. Largest troop displacement of the US to Europe in over 25 years.. Even in this moment dozens of trains & planes are arriving by the day in those areas carrying even more military equipment.
But ofc Russia is going to be made the agressor by the Media in the not too distant future. Not saying Russia is a Saint, but this kind of Military Troop Displacement, the russians havent seen since Operation Barbossa by the Germans.
And as far as Corona goes, it is a Virus, it is deadly, but the panic we be doing is totally excagerated. We be putting on Masks and maintaining Social Distance like its an airbourne virus, which it is not. If it were we'd have 100's of millions of infected, and millions dead.

@@admiralsquatbar127 you would think so, all the retail stores sold out their freezers two weeks ago, they still let people put orders in, knowing they wouldn't get them until July. We checked again Monday, they won't let you preorder them and won't get any more until August, those factory's have been shut down and have to fill the back orders first, whenever they decide they can go back to work. We have to get used ones whenever we can find them. Of course they are aware of the law of supply and demand. They know theres no supply and have been demanding 5 times what we used to get them for. Then being used, they've been selling ones that can't be fixed with the good ones. The only way to make sure their good is plug them in and run them for 24 hours. Between the cost of buying them and the junk ones we had to pay $400.00 each for that can't be fixed, so far we are making about $25.00 on each one sold. The only reason we bother is people who are going to lose over a thousand dollars of food unless they can get another freezer fast enough. Another week and we won't have any refrigerators either. We constantly check on the stores, but there are people who need one, but seeing the price think we're ripping people off, then they go all over town finding out they can't get one anywhere. They run back to get ours, but they usually are paid for and hauled off within a hour after we open. They're freaking out because they're losing all that food and all we can tell them is if we find more, we'll call them, but they if they don't get there quickly enough, someone will buy it. It's artificial shortages created for something that apparently doesn't exist. It's going to get a lot worse, theres no lawnmowers, other appliances and basically everything summer related that hadn't been shipped to the stores before they shut everything down. That stock we had is almost gone and it isn't even when we normally start selling these things. The stores are saying they won't have any of that until August as well. I've seen a few freezers advertised for $1,500.00 for something 10 years old. When we run out, people will have no choice but to pay their prices, buying from them you buy as is no matter how much you pay. The freezer might not even be capable of working at all. Like we are, anyone buying from them is stuck with it. Private sales from people's homes have no legal protections at all, and without plugging them in for 24 hours theres no way to know if they are good until then. Greedy people are taking advantage of it. We do what we can for our customers, as a reward, they believe we're ripping them off, $25.00 isn't worth the time and trouble, but it's one less that they can sell for 3 times what we do. These people will drag them out of alleys and sell them as good. To be good in business, it seems to be more profitable when you have no morals at all. I just sit and watch the madness, yes it's fear and loathing in the land of Trump. Actually I'm beginning to suspect this is them buying the next election, they're tossing money around like it's nothing. But enjoy your vacation, it's going to get interesting!

Fun fact: The title of "Caliph" means successor, steward or deputy and it stems from the Arabic word "Khalifa" which means successor or ruler. So Abu Bakr by taking on the tile of "Caliph" symbolically signaled that Muhammad was still the true leader of the Islamic faith and he was only acting in accordance to Muhammad and by extension Allah's will.

„Khalifa“ is short for „khalifat Allah“ and means „representative (of God)“. That was the title of all Muslim Caliphs until al-Mamun. Only then it was changed to „khalifat Rasul Allah“, „representative of the messenger of God“. See also the book „God‘s Caliph“ by Danish professor Patricia Crone.

@@Spitamenes There's also the less talked about but still historically significant title of "Wahalimarti Khalifat" roughly translating to "Walmart manager" in english. During the 21st century they established themselves as rulers of rural America. In many ways they mirror their Rashidun ancestors in their talent for trade and their swift though often brutal conquests...

@@Spitamenes well, khalifa "خليفة" in Arabic literally means successor not Representative, so it couldn't be representative (of God),

    • @Spitamenes
      @Spitamenes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Amr Farouk That may be its meaning today, but 1400 years ago it was more or less „representative“. In the Quran itself (2:30) the word is used to describe Adam as the representative of God on Earth. Adam could hardly be Godˋs successor. That‘s also why the Shia still consider their Imams „khalifat Allah“, representatives of God, preserving an original Islamic concept that has been lost in Sunniism.
