man I really hope the dragonscale katana gets a rework. it's such a cool idea having ice lighting yet having no frost buildup or lighting damage on its own
Right there with you man, it checks every box for me except for the ash of war. It looks cool but does not work in most cases

It does have frost build up.
The buff is pretty strong though. It gives a good chunk of damage and frost buildup. Just wish it lasted a bit longer. And I also don't understand why it takes so much fp. The dragonscale blade also gets less damage than all the other katanas which is pretty unfortunate.
dont kill the hunter for his nagakiba, do his whole quest, its not long and u get an additional weapon.
You can get the poleblade by just going to the church, even if you kill him.
There is literally no incentive to do his quest imo.

@@shrekwazowski6540 Raptor of the Mists, which is honestly nothing special. It gives some i-frames but is still inferior to something like, say, bloodhound step. You really don't lose anything by missing it.

Uchigatana in my experience works best if paired with another katana like nagakiba, rivers of blood, and maybe even moon veil, dual katanas are also just very fun
I'm doing a dual meteorite ore blade run and not just it's super fun but it's op af
dual blood uchigatanas is pretty good quite powerful

been running it with moonveil and it’s super fun.
Although not a katana, you should add Wakizashi if someone wants to powerstance it with a katana. It uses katana moveset and you get style points for using a the longest katana and the shortest.

Uchi is incredibly underrated here IMO. Unsheathe is a significantly stronger ash of war than either Ice lightning sword or gravitas. Nagakiba is also very good just by virtue of its great range
Nagakiba is second place ez, ash of war can be changed and the range it's amazing, and it's the coolest looking one along with the moonveil
moon veil has the same unsheath with a lot more of damage and range, still Uchigatana its the 4th best katana

Well Nagakiba is just straight up better. The Uchigatana can't do anything the Nagakiba can't do better so it's pretty useless.
@@KakashiHatake-qs6um range - yes, damage - I'd not say that. Ligthing nagakiba or Uchigatana are doing 1800 damage with heavy unsheath attacks and it consumes less fp.

imo blood Uchigatana (while one of the more basic weapons ) is one of the best and most moldable weapons in the game. And you still have your left hand for parrys, a 2nd blade, incantations,etc to mix people up
True. The same can be said for the nagakiba. I think people mostly use somber weapons instead of normal ones. Which kinda sucks because normal weapons can easily yield greater damage than somber weapons when paired with the right builds.
Uchigatana and nagakiba are great examples of this.
Bruh you really killed the coolest guy in the game for that sword even though you could’ve just done the fastest method. Do his side quest for him.

nagakiba is unstoppable with bloody slash
Moon veil heavy attack interrupts enemy animations. If the enemy has enough health it’ll eventually stagger them. With 50 int it hits at around 1k dmg for every heavy strike. Dual wield this with a uchigatana with bloody slash and it’ll bring the blood build up to 88 while moon will has 50. Rivers of blood is ass compared to moonveil.

Bro I do 4k damage per Ash of war with 30 arc and 50 dex I also fo up to 900 per heavy attack and I don't even have the proper build I literally only got the roted winged sword talisman, marika and radagons sorceal and the starscourge hairlom and don't get me started on the bleed damage witch can go up to 5k per bloodloss build up. Moon ail is nice and can stager enemies easily but it's not better than the rivers of blood at least until they patch bloodloss

I do 10k damage in seconds with the RoB, I love the moonveil but I’d say they are about equal. In terms of damage Rivers Of Blood>>

I completed the game 3 times and only used moonveil and it was enough. Thanks to this, I was able to continue as a wizard, but I don't like the bloody one.

I think that RoB is definitely better than moonviel because of bleed but when you use LoR you easily get rid of 50% of RoB damage and you still get moonviel

occult uchigatana with high arcane tops other katanas except rivers of blood. on the other hand with high int the moonveil becomes the best (as damage) so you just have to keep in mind how you level up. uchigatana is still one of the most versatile and strong when you put an affinity on it
Nagakiba with bloodloss stacked with Raptor's Mist can take down the Fire Giant with no hit from the Giant. Also stamina boost too.

@@MeAmSmart Bebb is right, maxed they have the exact same AR of 281 on regular scaling. Nagakiba has more range with the same attack speed, therefore making it better.

Rapaz eu já usei a rios de sangue e garanto que a nagakiba ou a uchigatana com corte giratório com um nível considerável, buffada com algum cebo ou encantamento é melhor, quebra a postura de quase qualquer inimigo em menos de 4 usos, custa menos pf, quebra hyperarmor, é rápida, pega vários inimigos e pode ser adequada pra sua build pq da pra colocar aguçada, pesada etc, e se você usar ela de sangue você consegue aplicar sangramento consideralmente rapido, e você ainda pode usar no começo do game, os defeitos é que não vai tão longe quanto a rios e ela sangra mais devagar.
Pode confiar pq tenho mais de 200 horas
why uchigatana 7? Uchigatana have the bleeding effect + with sharpness and 25+ Its the only one katana with A scale from Dexterity. I have both utigatanas, on 10+ and 7+ and even though they deal a good damage

Moonveil is best at keeping some distance were as the rivers of blood is more close kombat...both great weapons just work in different play styles
Yeah but rivers is just better for the builds with a uchigatana or nagakiba i think, but moonveil is a good option anyway and let you make a mage if you like
Nagakiba is capable of being better than RoB and Moonveil and Uchigatana is a great off hand weapon. I don't think you should look down on them just because they are infusable weapons. Both is A or higher for me.

Meteoric ore katana is such a OP weapon if you upgrade it 6+
But moonveil is just better in scalation and hability, anyway you can use dual katana using both or a uchigatana/nagakiba with ash magic
that is factually incorrect.
Moonveil has worse AR. It’s only better for the Ash.
When both katanas are built optimally MoB has about 80 more AR, so every single attack+ posture damage beats moonveil.
If we’re talking the ash moonveil is obv is better.
I personally believe the Katana is only rated based off the build you play. I run a nagakiba dual wield with the hand of Melania because range is amazing with bloodhounds quick step to get you that extra distance and it can really throw off your opponent if used offensively. I only really use hand of Melania for its dps and not for its ash of war. Now if you tried to pair any other katana with this build it would immediately become F tier in my book.
about the nagakiba, just kill yura, do not feel bad about it, although his questline will give you some good weapons but you can still find those bloody fingers without him

@@LADMK uchigitana is the best katana by far, im on new game 13 and i switch katanas alot but the uchis are just the best for every single boss in the game beside radagon due to his resistances. Rivers of blood fire damage or moonveil stagger is great for him tho.

2 Uchikatana´s +25 is the best Weapon thru the whole game if you use a good Blood build 1 Uchikatana can have 117 Blood dmg with Bloody Stash

Uchikatana and nagakiba are in my opinion top 4-5 for the ashes to convert their scalation and damage being very good for dual katana build with int for moon o meteoric or rivers with arc

@@giannisk1846 Uchi has more damage and is easier to obtain (At lower dex, full dex commitment might have different damage numbers) Nagakiba is a great poke tool and I personally used it as my primary out of 2 katanas, my offhand katana switching depending on the situation. sometimes the serpentbone, sometimes uchi, you get the idea. fit what works for your build and playstyle in, and it'll work just like that.
protip ; use Unsheath on the Nagakiba.

You need to meat him first under a bridge where he will talk to you about the dragon in the lake then you need to defeat the invader in the lake and he will show up there I recommend doing his quest instead of killing him because you can get a really cool weapon if you do it and the nagakiba + his armor set

If you still with the problem just leave it to later, get level up or search for thing like armor/accesorios/consumables for fire damage resistant buff, upgrade your weapon and summon if you use it or summon 2 players for help. This work anyway with any boss only the resistance variant
Try hitting it harder, it worked for me
Rivers of Blood is cool, too bad gankers and spammers made this weapon a cancer weapon and you’re usually shunned for being a noob or piece of poo for using it haha

Hand of malenia doesn't deserve 3rd place at all, nagakiba would be a much better 3rd place, even second because you can actually change its ash of war.

It's not worth killing NPCs for their weapons! And all Katanas and can be S tier if the player knows how to use them in the right build, so this list is very irrelevant.
