OP NTA, that deadbeat simp was the walking dead the minute he cut you off. OP don't want any reconciliation, so the dad has to keep that same energy, like he had before.

As a religious person, were this woman having sex outside of wedlock? Because that is a sin, also, now she is a divorced person too😂😂 in the bible it says we can't judge people that are not from our religion (which the man confirmed he is not) but i can judge her from be from my religion and not doing the things our bible says we should be doing.

Being religious doesnt mean you cant be a terrible human being. The way she treated Op even before coming out shows that she is just a pos.

NTA. Abandoning OP who was 17 at that time was terrible, OP didnt have either mom or dad beside. Its ok not to forgive your father, bc what he did to you was terrible

First thing is first your father is a disappointment from the start. Not caring about how the child views the stepparent? Relationships are broken up because your partner and child get into a fight and he let a woman not accepting of his child into his life? This is the second to worst parent.
Stopped hanging out with you because of his wife's beliefs. What is this?
Second you seem to have a pretty successful life. You have a relationship living area, job.
Next you boyfriend only feels that way because your father has mentioned that he may pass away. People always want others to be by their side during their life's end

why would Reddit axe his account? this type of short, personal story seems to be a good portion of their content _( 20% ? )_
NTA -- dad sure is. completely reverses himself and his views for the "love" of a woman -- and she didn't even stay with him when the going got tough. so much for the ''solemn vows of marriage"

YES. Go back snd properly introduce yourself.
Worst case scenario is that you don't get a relationship with him.
My guess is that he will be happy to have a relative who likes him.

NTA, but maybe a bit too harsh. You need to remember that Dads are human and make mistakes all the time. He might have been feeling lonely after your mother died and couldn't see Susan clearly. The clock was ticking on when you'd leave him too. You saw your true Dad before Susan showed up and when you first came out to him...the susan tainted version wasn't really him but her speaking thru him. Hold on to your good memories and think about opening the lines of communication slowly.
