    Nice video! I’m on a similar path with my ‘19 GTI Autobahn. I just had 034 Motorsports Lowering Springs, Spacers and rear sway bar/endlinks installed. I’m absolutely loving the upgrades. Keep the content coming!

    Just gonna share my experience based on the multiple setups i've had. Regarding this video, you should really not consider installing a H&R Sport springs on stock Shocks. First it will ruin your shocks and second will give you a bouncy ride. Combine it with B8 or Koni Sports and you'll get a proper setup 🙂

    • @jesusthug
      @jesusthug 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your stock struts are under 50k miles it’s not necessary IMO.

    • @Guilhermepalmeida
      @Guilhermepalmeida 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jesusthug it is in any case if you're looking for a proper setup performance and confort. If it is just for the looks ok :) Sport springs will ruin your shocks even if they're new. Is that what any of us want? Don't thinks so, but this is also just my opinion but based on some facts and experience

      @@Guilhermepalmeida I went 60k miles on H&R Springs before I upgraded to Megan coil overs on my SHO. Last 3k miles was notably shit. So yes it will kill your stock struts faster. But it took a while. Just what I experienced on a 2 ton car.

      I agree, I do not see why rating the install of the springs has to do with the springs themselves. It's like rating doughnuts on how hard they were to eat.

    • @ColoredinLight
      @ColoredinLight  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look, it's a general rating on the overall experience with the springs, install included. You guys are thinking too deeply into it.

      The rears are super easy to install and the fronts are not bad at all you just need the correct tools just like any other vehicle.

    You do not have to touch the axles to remove the struts. I have had all 4 corners off multiple times to adjust my koni yellow struts. Its the worst part of the koni yellows adjustment is dont on the bench fully disassembled

  • @deanmarr785

    Your stock struts should last about 35-40k miles before they start getting bouncy. Go with the Bilstien struts when you replace the stock ones.

  • @itechlad

    If you were to compare stiffness to the different modes before and after, what would the “old” sport feel be like in say normal or comfort with the new springs?
    Obviously it will be stiffer so I’m imagining that the new springs will have a similar sport feel from the old springs to something like normal mode? Am I correct in that theory?

    Hi Friend, I know the hard is install springs on the golf. I installed racingline springs on my golf 2019 last year, that was really hard the front springs. Im not mechanic but I like to learn and to do. I did this in my garage. Racingline springs droped 1" almost. I was looking for the little bit slow look, then 1" was perfect to me. The brand say the performance is "OEM+" then this drop was perfect to me too. I was reviewing the h&r and eibach, I prefered racing line because is a brand only for VAG cars. About the handling, this is nice, just a little hard in rear suspension. I am using the stock dampers but I am thinking to install bilstein B8 to have the suspencion full kit. I dont know I m not sure, because is my daily car and the streets in my cuntry are bad. (alot holes) I am from México. Then I dont know if with the bilstein dampers my suspension will be harder. My golf don have adaptative suspension. What do you think, what is your tip? thank you.

    So springs are better than coilovers if you only going to drop you car no more than 2inch?

    • @ColoredinLight
      @ColoredinLight  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never said that, coilovers are great for adjustability and will perform better. Springs are a cheaper option to get a slight drop but you wont get the same performance as a coilover.

    • @amaximus5753
      @amaximus5753 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BeyondOasis
      I have H&R on my mk7.5 golf R. Let's just say I'm tempted to go back to stock springs. The ride is very harsh when going over bumps. You will have this jarring shock when hitting some bumps on the road. Most irritating thing is the bounce, that occurs for most of the drive. So the Car now feels way to bouncy.
      The ride height is ok, not perfect. I wish it wasn't so low. Instead of 20mm drop maybe 15mm drop would be better. However, handling when cornering has improved, especially on smooth roads. Handles like its on rails. Would I do it again, no. Do I regret doing it, yes. Leave your stock springs on and get a H&R sway bar on the rear. That's all you need

    • @ColoredinLight
      @ColoredinLight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with most of Maximus' comment. Hitting a harsh bump does really bang the car. I had to hit some gnarly bumps at 70mph to really feel it be so aggressive though. I don't notice the bumpy ride too much, it's certainly there but we took a 20hour road trip and was comfortable enough to sleep along the way. It definitely handles better, but I did it mainly for the ride height which I love.
      Different strokes for different folks. No universal right answer!
