@@GenealogyTV I'm curious if your family tree has any Burneys on it. I have a brick wall with the surname Burney. John Burney lived in Baltimore City, MD and is my mom's 5x great grandfather. His daughter Martha Burney is Mom's 4x great granddaughter. Martha lived 1792-1878. I don't know dates for John Burney. DNA results for my mom lead me to matches for the Burney surname in North Carolina. So far I haven't been able to find a connection between my John Burney and the North Carolina Burneys.

I also had a murder in my family leading to a cousin who was almost hung for killing him as his farm was the last place he was known to be traveling to. Turned out to be a gentleman who killed him for the money he was carrying and he also confessed on his deathbed 40 years after. Caused all kinds of repercussions in the family and his body was never found.
I finally uploaded some direct ancestors to Wikitree lol, but since most of my relatives are from latinamerica I haven't found anything to break down walls, I am more hopeful now that I've seen this (and will start adding ancestors siblings lol)
Amazing - what a gold mine of information! It seems as though you were the lucky winner on a game show. I had to reflect on the Quaker records I've seen for my relatives that showed this or that one was excluded from the group for language or in one case an unlawful relationship. Sometimes the records are too good! BTW, those very early immigrants' descendents married into land owner families in Virginia. The younger sons of those families were among the pioneers with Daniel Boone opening the wild frontier of Kentucky. And the pioneers' descendents eventually were back to no good with several murders in the family.

But, that was the name of my father's step-father. Going back, I don't know how to change it to my family name. My father reconnected with his biological father in the sixties and had all of our names changed back to the family name in court.
How can I delete a child, which says unknown, from my tree? Someone added extra unknowns and they don't belong. I am a direct family member and I am 100% certain so I'm not guessing. I absolutely know this unknown does not belong. Thank you for any help because WikiTree is new to me.
Hi Connie, I tried to open an account to Wiki tree a few min ago and download my Gedcom file but too big, I have 12,500 people. they said I need to break it down to below 5, 000 but I have no way to open the file to download each grandparent (4) any ideas? thanks!
Hey Charles. The only way I know how to break it apart is in software. For example, I can go into my Family Tree Maker software and export parts of the family tree by the ancestors of a specific person.
Connie, because there is a unconfirmed relationship between James Lewis 7037 and Mildred Lewis 4634 we may or may not be 12th cousins once removed. Dang it. Bradley-4416.

Donna, Go to the help menu on WikiTree and drop down to G2G or the mentors and see if you can get an answer at either one of those places.
