    The disregard for basic housekeeping and personal safety is remarkable. Open-toed sandals in a machine shop? Razor-sharp metal cuttings allowed to collect in every empty corner? Horrible working conditions.

      I understand your concerns, but They are much comfortable this way.. free style!!! nobody working on gun point, they choose to work like this, its their choice.

      @@hydraulichands Their choice? Really? Does the employer offer the workers free safety shoes, gloves, eye and hearing protection? If not, that is not a free choice.

    • @hydraulichands
      @hydraulichands  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, to be honest being a video maker of machine shops i have seen many employers but this one so generous, this workshop mostly has relatives workers, the guy you see at 4:50 he is elder son of employer, you see him most part of my videos.... the guy at 19:04 black dress he is head engineer & son in law of employer, at 19:10 the white beard sitting on chair is the employer himself... at 21:49 you can see blue dress guy with head engineer is younger son of employer....most of the other workers are either friends or family.. some old workers in workshop are not needed but they are employed because they are friends and they don't have another source to earn living.
      so if you think that employer is saving money from shoes and putting his beloved relations at risk than its not right. the truth is in our country people work just like that, its toooo normal for them to wear sandal, not to wear glasses gloves or other ppe, some workers wear safety shoes some don't, its totally upto personal choice.
      Finally, i am not justifying working without safety, but nobody cares in our country. & its their choice. having said that the injury ratio is almost 0% surprisingly

    That was enjoyable to watch. I used to work on Webster Bennett vertical borers before I retired and can still remember the words of the old guy who taught me when I first started work. He said to me
    'Every machine tool will bite you lad if you ever become complacent with them, but these buggers have bloody big teeth and they rarely take prisoners'

    I guess no one in this company has ever heard of carbide inserts that embody chip breakers? Breaking these many foot long chips into smaller pieces will reduce injury and make it a lot easier to clean the shop floor. But it is apparent they don't care about cleanliness of any sort.

    These clowns treat their cutting tools and equipment like trash. Listen to the sound of the constant chattering going on all over the shop. It's like if you told them, "reduce that stick out length. Regrind your tool geometry and lapp the edge. Increase SFM" they'd tell you "feeds and speeds? What's that? We've done it this way for 30 years, what are you talking about? Rake angle, what's that?" Because my parts come out nice and silky smooth and yours look like an shitty LP record because you don't use decent way oil and don't adjust the carriage gibs and check the backlash on the feed screw. So the carriage hops and dances around in the cut.
    Surface finish is appalling because SFM is too slow. It's not even because they obviously can't afford new tools and have to keep regrinding or hack together their own insert tooling. Nor have a millwright look at their equipment every so often. But if you don't want to buy tooling all the time, take a couple days on the weekend to do PM.
    The sad part is these workers simply don't care because their boss is a privileged fat little dog turd, who smokes all day in his office and only comes out ocassionally to berate them for taking too long and making him look bad to the customer, then tell them they're eorking alk day Saturday again because they're so lazy. When they do try to sweep up the boss gets a snide little grin, quickly suppresses it, and yells about them not sound what he told them too.
    It's likely you'd literally have you tell them to haul out the swarf.
