He's seeing him in person for the first time. He just appears out of nowhere and stops him dead in his tracks. Literally.
0:50 it's a small moment, but I love Jenny's hesitation to run Perry's headline. She knows Superman saved her life and the entire planet and knows how unfair it is to blame all this crap on him.

You think Lex owned the bank? I wonder if Lex was also responsible for Martha losing her home and why it was probably easier for Bruce to buy the bank since Lex is not in prison. Long stretch, I know.
@@silverspear21 it's Lex Luthor. The same guy that in the comics went so far as buying Daily Planet because he couldn't stand them writing Superman stories. With Bruce Wayne and Steve Dayton (Mento) Lex is one of the richest men in the DC Universe. It's no stretch.

+Gulyanne Cepeda That will depend on the individual movie, BvS for example has many scenes that add nothing to the plot or characters. I can't speak for the other movies you mentioned, because I've never seen Gone with the Wind and it's been awhile since I've seen Lord of the Rings
anybody else notice that the black dude that says "there's a new kind of mean in him, he's angry and he is hunting" seems to me that this line shows that Batman has been pushed over his limits and uses lethal force.
Ddlala63 You right cause most people was getting mad over how he handled things. But first of all we both know that in this movie. This wasn't prime batman which I can't see how people cldnt realize that with the ultimate edition. And those words from the og would have gave more strength to alfreds deep spoken words to bruce earlier in the film. Words from somebody who seen it from the outside.
I love how this scene cuts in between Clark being a reporter and Bruce being a detective . Really adds some much needed depth to them in the film rather than just punching one another.
This adds a nice layer to the character. Clark is a person who strongly believes in truth and justice, being an investigative journalist perfectly compliments his Superman identity. He can help people by uncovering lies/conspiracies that others are too fearful to do so because powerful/dangerous foes are behind it. There are things he can do as Clark that he cannot as Superman vice versa, the two identities back each other up.
Exactly. I'm always annoyed when Superman stories sideline his Journalist Clark Kent identity in favor of Lois chasing scoops and Superman just showing up to catch or punch things. Clark is just as effective a reporter as Lois. Him hitting the streets and talking to people, especially vulnerable people builds his "Champion of the Opressed" title and reinforces Clark's love for humanity. Also it gives the story a more grounded and human element rather than frequent sci-fi threats.
@@MMZERO9I believe that there was an episode that highlights the journalist aspect...Obvious drawback is that someone attempted an assassination on Clark Kent that ends with a wrecked car via explosion; and that someone found out who Superman really is WHILE getting executed via the gas chamber.
This made their fight have wayyyyyy more sense. Instead of Batman being just stubborn, he was totally out of control, and Superman had to fight him instead of just talking
I feel bad for Clark/Superman he saves lives all the time but people keep dissing him and treating him badly but he still goes out and saves there lives even though they don't like him.
It's a giant Plato's The Republic Allusion. In The Republic, Plato states there is a Just Man, whom society rejects and believes it has no use for until society ultimately kills him and realized what they lost. Clark is even reading a copy of The Republic in MoS, I love it.
Better reception means more legs, more money. A less steep drop after the first week along would have made them at least 100 mil more, even if you account for longer length in theaters, which would likely result in only 1 less showing per day. ANd most money is made during evenings by tickets, so if that 1 less showing if say around midday, problem solved.
+John Smith | _Context!_ You don't cut out scenes that are relevant to the narrative, and leave other stupid scenes that don't need to be there. Cut out the Knightmare sequence and the JL cameos as well as Doomsday. Problem solved.
I love how everyone lives in fear of the bat, not just criminals, for example the man scratching the bat into the lotto ticket as he is too scared to mention his name
This was a MORONIC move by WB... It's almost as if one of the BIGGEST film studios doesn't understand film -.- YOU DON'T CUT CONTEXT AND BASICALLY THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARC! You could've had the flash/Injustice scene, a scene with no context or explanation, as a post credit and include this in the movie. Post credits are for teasing, so explanation isn't mandatory. Have WW checking out JL via e-mail as post title credits, then Mad Max Batman as post credit. Simple and would've saved a big part of the movie
So true...when people rant about the dream sequence all I think of it was if only Snyder would have been smart enough to put it as a post credit scene..it would have worked wonders for the movie...
Although I loved the Nightmare Batman sequence and the email scene. I agree with this.. after watching the ultimate cut I said the exact same thing. This could've been a lot better if they were cut from the theatrical version or just a post-credits scene.. no context and no harm done to the overall story.. just a tease.
Hrag Farra Exactly. It actually would've done A LOT for the film. Critics and fans had a real issue with that scene. As fans, we love it but if we put that aside and think, it would've done wonders for the movie as a post credit
Alex Mujica yep! It just boggles my mind how didn't think of that. I mean you can't really defend that scene at all, but it sure is AWESOME. Putting it as a tease/post-credits scene will get audiences' mind like :O.. holy shit.. what did I just watch :O!?
The annoying thing is there are too many potential scenes to be put in the post credits. Which one should they put? The flash one? The terrible email one? The parademons one? They all scream POST CREDITS
I love how Superman is more human than we were. Not by flesh but by heart. He doesnt flex his powers or stuff like that. We humans flex what we can do. We should learn from Superman.
It’s amazing how polarizing this film is. I’ve probably seen it over 20 times… I love it. Yet there are ppl that say it’s horrible. Different wavelengths I guess.
I LOVE Henry Cavill's portrayal of Clark Kent. Too bad morons think he needs to be like Christopher Reeve when Reeve's Superman is remotely close to being accurate. I love the seriousness of Man of Steel and BvS, shame that they need to go the marvel route these day.
0:51 she looks down and then looks at him as if “this man saved us, he saved ME, and you want to start controversies about him?” Thought it was a nice touch.
The woman from the ending had some nerve. She had no problem with her husband selling innocent women as sex slaves but then tries to picture him as a victim when he gets his comeoupance.
Gulyanne Cepeda lol dont even bother. I certainly didn't ask nor do I care about his/her opinion. Clearly reading and comprehension isn't their best quality.
How do people miss the “there’s a new kind of mean in him” line? Like duh the movie KNOWS Batman is out of character. Everyone in Gotham knows Batman has been acting different
Scenes like this make me regret not seeing the Director’s Cut. It’s more redeeming to the film than the Director’s Cut of Daredevil where they are investigating the Homeless Man accused of murder.
The scene with miss Santos explains why Superman fought Batman like she said what stops him is not words but fist I hope this puts those idiots in their place sayingSuperman should have just explain to Bruce what's happening
True. Many of my friends stated that they fought for pointless reasons and labelled stupid, yet it had to a lot with the omitting of this scene. At least we know now 😐.
so we are idiots when Warner Bros didnt fucking include this in the theterical version? He still had ample time to explain after Batman hit him with sonics but he chose to be vague and make incomplete sentences and then hit batman, making things worse. Secondly superman didnt give a shit about all of this at the time. He told lois he was going to ask him for help
This should have been in the movie! I feel like they could have EASILY cut a 2h45 minute version that pieces everything together and get rid of useless shit like the Knightmare sequence. I liked it, but it just didn't have a place in the film.
The knightmare scene I feel played a good role in the continuation of the JL, but maybe not in the movie's story. Because the Knightmare scene is the future that the movie was headed without the formation of the JL, where everything goes to shit. And Flash came back in time to warn bruce to find the JL, which changes the time line and now lets us have the future of the actual JL not the Knightmare. It's really cool to see and think about but, I agree it should not have been in the movie especially since it felt really out of place
The nightmare scene had multiple purposes. It was pivotal in Bruce's change in attitude towards Superman. Before the scene Bruce's fear of Superman was a hunch. He lies to Alfred about pursuing Kryptonite. He is not yet sure that what he is doing is right. After the nightmare he delivers the whole: "If we believe there is even a ONE percent change he is our enemy we have to take it as an ABSOLUTE certainty" story. It delivers proper motivation for Bruce to go after Superman without loosing credibility in the eye of the viewer. Then it tied in to a bigger universe and a future movie. Brilliantly done imo
Yeah, I never understand that either. Says he hates BVS, but watches BVS clips then comments on them also. I hate Guardians of the Galaxy, just to corny for me personally, so guess what? You will never see me commenting under GOTG videos. I'm not going to bash it just because I don't like it...
Mother of ***** god, why did they cut so many scenes? That doesn't have sense at all! The original movie could be better, so much better! The next time they have to use the full movie for the theater cut.
*This !! THIS RIGHT HERE !!! THIS !!! THIS IS CLARKS MOTIVATION FOR FIGHTING BATMAN !!!!! WHY OH WHYYYY WHYYYY TF DID WB CUT THIS OUT OF THE MOVIE !!!! THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF FOR THE STORY !!!!! AAAUGH IT PISSES ME TF OFF !!! THIS MOVIE COULDVE BEEN WAYYYY BETTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
*the ULTIMATE EDITION IS THE DEFINITIVE CUT OF THE FILM since it fleshes out supermans motivation for fighting batman ALSO THEY REALLY SHOULDVE GAVE BATFLECK HIS SOLO MOVIE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THIS MOVIE* #MakeTheBatfleckMovie
I never realised how great this film actually is, untill I saw this short sequence from the ultimate cut. It explains sooo much about Superman and why he did what he did
I think it'd make sense for it to be Bullock, given he's always disapproved of Batman's methods and the fact that Gordon condones them. Sure, he's criticizing the GCPD in the article, but the fact that Batman is now seemingly branding criminals for execution, to him, would be crossing the line and he'd have to speak out against it. At the same time, it's a little well-spoken for Bullock, but it could be more like the Batman: Earth One version. I could see it being Dent if this does happen to take place before his downfall and rebirth as Two-Face, though.
Yup like what others said as maybe Harvey Bullock instead of Harvey Dent who for sure became Two Face around the DCEU ariund few years ago in the current DCEU timeline and hopefully we still see Two Face with interactions with Batfleck and the others in new upcoming DCEU movies around the future in years from now which would be very exciting!
@@NickFamzi Dent is definitely already two face, Bruce says "how many good guys stopped being that way" from what we know Dent was pretty much a good guy Pre two face
bro what you saying? in the martha scene batman doesn't kill superman cause he realises he's wrong about supes he thought of him as this alien who doesn't care about anyone who's parents died on krypton but when he heard him pleading for someone else's name his view changed on him and he realizes that he's been played by lex luthor and this scene was proved wrong because because batman couldn't connect with the civillains cause he stopped believing in humanity so some other guys words won't affect him where as superman who he actually viewed as a human at that time he listened to his words
Zack Snyder: Writes a wonderful little arc for Clark Kent as an average, everyday reporter and gives him a motive and a reason for Clark to go after Batman after discovering the horrifying facts and the truth. WB: That’s cool. Zack: Great. WB: Let’s cut it out. Zack: Wait, what? WB: Yeah, we don’t need the audience and critics to figure out what Superman’s motive is. They just want to see them fight, that’s it.
Funny how it's always the same thing. When criminals suffer from the same evil that they serve multiple members of society, they become extreme victims. They receive more compassion than the most upright citizens.
That reminds me of a criminal from the second season of Daredevil. He was being chased by the Punisher and playing the victim when he had no problem with killing innocent people.
If WB didn't hesitate to release a 3 hour movie like The Batman (2022), BvS could be received well much more at the time of release. It's the studio who messed things up and Snyder was made the scapegoat :(
Man this comment section is still full of criticism despite everyone universally agreeing these scenes and many others should NOT have been cut. I dont get it. Theres many useless scenes in a lot of movies by this comments section standards. Just throwing it out there, character development IS story. It builds on how the characters in a story feel while going through it. If you didn't like what you got thats literally all on you. Many of us did like/ love it, regardless of those that didn't.
He was nodding over to the mother and daughter of the guy Clark wanted to ask about and got rejected. He was just helping him out indirectly without trying to get in trouble
Would've like to see more scenes like this. One of my faves from the WB animated series was an episode where it was mostly Clark trying to solve the incarceration of an innocent man. He used his super hearing to listen to the man's heartbeat to deduce he wasn't lying for example. Superman's cool and everything but he can also come off one-dimensional and wooden.

YEAH! This would have help explain why he wanted to stop Batman.
WB: What is logic? 😧
Snyder + fans: something you clearly don't have 😂
0:50 it's a small moment, but I love Jenny's hesitation to run Perry's headline. She knows Superman saved her life and the entire planet and knows how unfair it is to blame all this crap on him.
Never noticed it till now, but I realized why Wallace kept saying "I work for Bruce Wayne!!" He was calling him for help. Lex kept blocking his checks and it made him think the Boss didn't care anymore when clearly he did.
Nice catch. It's the little details
This explains the only way to deal with the Bat is by use of force.
Exactly people still hate the fact that Supes didn't try talking to Batman that much during the fight and when they say that I just quote what that woman said.
+Joe Culp agreed
But Superman should be smarter than that. His mom is in danger.
he tried talking to him, Batman shot him and used sonics and kryptonite.
after batman yells " i understand!" its pretty obvious that bruce is nuts.
Especially after he tried to shoot him after wards
If they had these deleted scenes. Movie would had grossed few more millions
+Tristan Hartup sadly yeah
Tristan Hartup more like, let's save these scenes for the "extended" DVD release and then sell it.
They have this on the dvd

Would've crossed a billion
WB: "Hey Snyder do you think these scenes are important to the overall story?"
Snyder: "Well..yeah - that's why I filmed them."
WB: "Good...let's delete them."

"He is angry and he's hunting."
Love that line for some reason
The movie didn't need to be three hours, they just cut the wrong scenes.
and lord of the rings? or gone with the wind?
+Gulyanne Cepeda Huh?
+Jonathon Myska they are more than 3 hours and it didn't need cuts
+Gulyanne Cepeda That will depend on the individual movie, BvS for example has many scenes that add nothing to the plot or characters. I can't speak for the other movies you mentioned, because I've never seen Gone with the Wind and it's been awhile since I've seen Lord of the Rings
didn't need to be, but I'm glad it was. The more the merrier.
I enjoy seeing Superman use his detective skills considering that he's a reporter. I don't want him to always use his fists to solve problems.
"reporting" not detetive.
@@Gadget-Walkmen he did the same thing in the animated series
@@dadtaro9202 yeah and I’m saying it’s reporting, not detective work.
That was in the Superman episode, The Late Mr. Kent.
You know what would be cool and could possibly work? A Superman game focused on being Clark Kent as a reporter
anybody else notice that the black dude that says "there's a new kind of mean in him, he's angry and he is hunting" seems to me that this line shows that Batman has been pushed over his limits and uses lethal force.
The death of Robin is probably what did it
i'm sure it was the black zero event coupled with the knightmare/flash's vision scene that got him to kill
@@Funtimesuntime3 in further scenes it is explained that he pushed the limits with losing everybody robin so he starts to kill
David Ruelas it’s collateral damage , batman does not kill
@@SyryuEven the DCAU didn’t utilize that aspect of Clark to its full potential.

Agreed.
they should've made a batman film first, then man of steel then bvs
@@the.abhiram.rI blame it on Warner Bros.
I just love how Clark could easily just fly to Gotham but he chooses to take the ferry across the bay
It's amazing how good these movies are when they're not butchered in the editing room
I feel bad for Clark/Superman he saves lives all the time but people keep dissing him and treating him badly but he still goes out and saves there lives even though they don't like him.
He also killed millions of people in man of steel fighting Zod in the city
Why do people STILL think Clark did the killing??? And no one blames Zod.
Casper Jean Rimbaud which one of us are you talking too ?
It's a giant Plato's The Republic Allusion. In The Republic, Plato states there is a Just Man, whom society rejects and believes it has no use for until society ultimately kills him and realized what they lost.
Clark is even reading a copy of The Republic in MoS, I love it.

The Batman we always wanted !!
Why the f*ck was this scene deleted -__-
Got to set up for the Sequels.
+Benish Ben 1. Speak for yourself
2. The movie would've been too long
The movie would be 3 hours. The longer the movie, less sessions on the theaters.
I love that when Clark talks to the people in the apartment building, they refer to Batman as "him", as if he's listening.
They all scream POST CREDITS
this is one of the most important reasons of why superman's trying to stop batman and viceversa and yet they cut it out
Ik. It pisses me off!
WB: What is logic? 😂
Zack Snyder made an awesome fucking movie
It's the studio who messed it up

@NightHawk92 Nice quote? Who said it?
@NightHawk92 He didn't say he liked the movie. He said that studio ruined the movie which is factually incorect.

+Sharpest Katana Depends on who the guardian is... I would say its Superman
"Where does he go?" That's classic Superman right there. And they say Snyder doesn't like the classics.
Welcome to the Snyder cut

How do people miss the “there’s a new kind of mean in him” line? Like duh the movie KNOWS Batman is out of character. Everyone in Gotham knows Batman has been acting different
Scenes like this make me regret not seeing the Director’s Cut. It’s more redeeming to the film than the Director’s Cut of Daredevil where they are investigating the Homeless Man accused of murder.

These scenes give out a better reason why this movie is called "Batman v Superman".
exactly,thaaank you
but he still should have explained. , His mom was in danger
+UltimateAnime54 The Knightmare scene couldv'e been used as an opening for Justice League.
Or could have been a post credits scene. Actually a lot of those pointless scenes should have been saved for post credits and other movies
Just watched JL. And yep the nightmare scenes are useless now
the fact Clark could fly to Gotham much faster but still he choose boat.. dammm this scene is so good
There’s a new kind of joy in him

I never realised how great this film actually is, untill I saw this short sequence from the ultimate cut. It explains sooo much about Superman and why he did what he did
Anyone else see the "vigilantes" in the article also the "says Harvey" Harvey who? Bullock? Or Dent?
probably bullock cos If they flat out follow the comics then by this point in time Harvey dent Is already two face in arkham asylum
+nightwing2016 batsvssupes yes but it could be dark knight returns Harvey if you know what in talking about
I think it'd make sense for it to be Bullock, given he's always disapproved of Batman's methods and the fact that Gordon condones them.

"A man like that, words don't stop him."
*gets stopped by "MARTHA!"*

in the martha scene batman doesn't kill superman cause he realises he's wrong about supes
he thought of him as this alien who doesn't care about anyone who's parents died on krypton but when he heard him pleading for someone else's name his view changed on him and he realizes that he's been played by lex luthor
and this scene was proved wrong because because batman couldn't connect with the civillains cause he stopped believing in humanity so some other guys words won't affect him where as superman who he actually viewed as a human at that time he listened to his words
This movie is underrated, the batman scenes felt like the Arkham game series loved it, Batman is very large and strong man, who is very tactical.

All of these scenes are so great and make the movie much more complete. The 3 hour long cut should've been released in theaters. WB messed up.
These scenes add so much flesh to the plot. I would have actually believed their motivation to fight if these scenes were left in.
I wish this was the whole movie. Clark investigating is a gem in world building and a presentation in Clark's status and mission as a reporter.
