    My 2009 has 228,000 miles. I bought it in 2014 with 126,000 miles. I did two trans fluid changes since owning it. I also use Mobil 1, high mileage 20,000 mile oil.
    Change it at 20,000 miles. Runs like a new one.
    The trick is, always let up on the gas pedal before it down shifts. As much as possible.

    Bought my Fit with about 114K miles and immediately changed the fluid. Noticed that my plug magnet was not very strong any longer so I replaced that and literally noticed a big amount of strength between the old and new. They're cheap and good to do on a high-mileage vehicle. Thanks for your video.

    nice sir, very informative video..im doin this later on my jazz 2012 👍👍👍.. by the way manual says, only use honda genuine cvt oil, is it always required?

    • @emtproductions68

      So you don't have to use honda genuine fluid but use what ever spec is equivalent! Also here in the states the 2009-2013 fit are equipped with 5speed conventional automatic transmissions so the do NOT take cvt fluid! Please verify that yours is truly a cvt before continuing! Thanks!

    3 out and 3 in with Genuine DW1 every other oil change since new 2012 Fit. Zero issues in 118K miles. Yes, over kill but cheap insurance imo. Amsoil the engine oil though. Only DW1 since day one.

    Dealer recommended on the AT for 2nd Gen. is 30k miles. I use the Honda OEM fluid for my 2011 and change washer each time. Three quarts out and three in. You can do this procedure three times if your feeling motivated. But this is easier than a sealed Toyota trans.

      make sure to check the transmission fluid level when the car is hot, and level. I would imagine the fluid is checked with the engine off like my Odyssey (correct me if Fit is different)? I would not keep the level over full hot when the engine and transmission are hot.

    What are the inner and outer dimensions for the crush washer? Thanks.

    • @emtproductions68
      @emtproductions68  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe its a 18mm inner... not positive on the outer BUT I have not replaced the factory one since new and have never had a leaking issue... they are plentiful on Amazon if you broke/lost the OE one... I recommend a factory Honda washer from the dealer cause they have proven to be VERY reliable.... hope this helps!

    Excellent video! My 2012 Fit Sport has 127,000 miles on it and Honda wants to do a drain/flush, then refill. Is the flush really necessary? I’ve heard that it sometimes results in a slipping transmission. Would a simple drain/refill be better? Thanks again for your helpful video.

    • @emtproductions68
      @emtproductions68  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have 300k on 1 and 280k on another. I have just been draining and filling since both since under 100k! So a flush isn't necessary on these cars, but I would change the fluid more often than recommend... really depends on your driving habits... I hope this helps!

    • @jonboz7585

    • @scottjohnson921
      @scottjohnson921 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      One drain and fill does not change all the fluid. If it has been a long time since a fluid change, or not at all, you should do a change, and then drive it 5-6 miles using all of the gears, and do another change. That will cycle out most of the old fluid.

      While there is no harm in changing the fluid as often as you like... I go 10k between changes for me personally... but at the very least twice a year or every 6 month if you don't put a lot of miles on... if you do a lot of city driving i recommend every 3 month! Hope this helps!

      Nope! I think OEM fluids are way to go if your spending money or not switching fluids often! Hi, Thank you for this Video, I would just ask you if MOTUL Multi CVTF is good for the HONDA FIT GE8 2009 CVT ? because i was using the genuine Fluid but as it becomes very expensive (more than 200$ the 4 liters Package) I want to change it for another Brand Like Castrol or MOTUL ...
    And As i Saw that the MOTUL Multi CVTF Fluid color is BLUE !!! and the Honda CVTF color is Light Red,
    I had a lot of doubts when I saw that the color is different than the genuine one, when i put once an ATF MOTUL with Yellow Color, and the transmission was making some weird sounds between the Third and 4th transmission Gear !
    and now, when i read behind the alternative fluids that this FLUID isn't good fot Honda Vehicules that have a (WET STARTING CLUTCH) !!! and i want to know if the Honda fit GE8 2009 CVT is having that WET starting clutch !!!
    I know that i asked you a lot of questions but the answer will save me !
    Many thanks to all of you.
    Regards,

      Hey buddy, thanks for watching the video. I tried to dig up some info on the cvt ge8, but sadly, I wasn't able to get too far... but I hope what I was able to dig up helps! So the first generation cvt transmissions take just dw1 fluid, same as in the video... second generation cvt transmissions take a special hcf-2... I'm unsure which your vehicle takes sadly... but color varies and should never be used as an indication of fluid type... I hope this helps! Thanks!
