So would roughly 3qrts do the trcik? On the web it says it requires roughly 6qrts to refill and flush. Just wanted to confirm the amount and not buy more than I actually need for the flush.

Hi, Thank you for this Video, I would just ask you if MOTUL Multi CVTF is good for the HONDA FIT GE8 2009 CVT ? because i was using the genuine Fluid but as it becomes very expensive (more than 200$ the 4 liters Package) I want to change it for another Brand Like Castrol or MOTUL ... And As i Saw that the MOTUL Multi CVTF Fluid color is BLUE !!! and the Honda CVTF color is Light Red, I had a lot of doubts when I saw that the color is different than the genuine one, when i put once an ATF MOTUL with Yellow Color, and the transmission was making some weird sounds between the Third and 4th transmission Gear ! and now, when i read behind the alternative fluids that this FLUID isn't good fot Honda Vehicules that have a (WET STARTING CLUTCH) !!! and i want to know if the Honda fit GE8 2009 CVT is having that WET starting clutch !!! Excellent video! My 2012 Fit Sport has 127,000 miles on it and Honda wants to do a drain/flush, then refill. Is the flush really necessary? I’ve heard that it sometimes results in a slipping transmission. Would a simple drain/refill be better? Thanks again for your helpful video.

I’m getting a clunk up front on my GE8. I can’t help but think it’s struts but before I do that, I figure maybe replace the end links. I’m in the rust belt and terrified watching you have to grind it off. I had to do this on my Miata when I did my coils and it was a nightmare

Thanks for posting, this saved me quite a bit on fixing these on my son's car. One of them was broken and hanging loose from the top. The top nut came off with some PB and a driver, using a vice grip on the ball. For the bottom, I had to cut the nut from the front using a Dremel and a reinforced cutting wheel (didn't have a larger cutting tool). When I got to the other side, it had been replaced with a Moog part at some point, but since I had a new pair I swapped it anyway. The Moog parts don't need an allen key, just a box end wrench on the back side. I used the spare tire jack to lift the car, and a bottle jack to lift the control arm. About $70 in parts and likely saved $200 in labor.

If you cut this off from the back, you have to loosen the nut enough to get in front of the circular backing piece on sway bar link AKA (backing washer). If you don't cut in front of that circular backing piece (washer) then it won't fall out. That backing piece (washer) and nut on the stud pinch the strut point connection and or sway bar connection on the bottom. You might have an easier time cutting the bolt and nut from the front. I got lucky and used vice grips on the back and spun the nut off with an impact wrench. They were the OEM sway bar links after 10 years in the heart of the rust belt. I soaked them with PB Blaster a few days before I did the job.

Too many videos showing you where the pinch welds are to use a scissors Jack. Most car manuals have that info anyway. Not enough video showing you where to place jack stands underneath the front center of a car for example. C'mon men!

My 2009 has 228,000 miles. I bought it in 2014 with 126,000 miles. I did two trans fluid changes since owning it. I also use Mobil 1, high mileage 20,000 mile oil. Change it at 20,000 miles. Runs like a new one. The trick is, always let up on the gas pedal before it down shifts. As much as possible.

we are a lot here with a Fit doing more than 10- 12 liters for 100km. My old 2009 was doing 5-7 for 100 km.... nobody at Honda can answer. The new one 2014 is double the gas of my old 2009. same guy same habits.

I wonder why every truck i see online for sale is 2.7 crew cab. Its like the 5.3 is becoming extinct .I dont need all of those seats, and definitely dont care for a 2.7 liter truck for hauling and towing

This car is awesome for what it is. I've had mine for about 4 years now and it's been great so far, very reliable and no major issues. Still as fun to drive as the day I got it. They also have a 6 year 72k bumper to bumper warranty that is transferrable!

Was there any specific reason why you replaced them?

I used a Moog replacement link that has grease fittings, and also eliminates the allen key requirement. Another thing I found that was helpful is to use a jack stand to support the vehicle weight and thus allowing the jack to be used to lift the control arm up and align the link studs into the holes. Thankfully, my replacement did not require a sawzall. I sprayed the nuts down a week in advance, as I live in the rust belt.
