Damn, I have the same keyboard, and although I never modded a keebs before, you made it look easy and the sound profile is soo cool afterwards, I might try. I'd go for gaterons pro as they are prelubed and I don't think I'd feel confident enough to lube the switches myself. Good video!
I don’t have rk61 or rk68 he did make it look easy but I messed up some of my switches so I mixed up the switches with the outemu reds and the gateron yellows
if you want to try and mod your keyboard, go for it! It isn't that hard to screw up that bad and there are tons of youtube videos to help you out there, it is worth it in my opinion too.

It is smaller than I anticipated, and such a difference from the full sized Razer Huntsman that I'm using; I like the weight as well, it feels so solid. I'm watching as many mod tutorials as I can before I try it myself. Not only does the mod look great, but it sounds so good, and that's pretty close to the sound I like, somewhere between deep-clack and thocc!
Could you also do a tutorial on how to balance our stabilizers in the :3ildcat style? It's like a talent that I'm sure most people would be willing to learn and knowing the tips and tricks would be tremendously helpful
Thank you SOOO much this was my first keyboard right now i use Acrylic Tofu 65 as my barebones a aluminum plate KBDFans modular plate foam, Durock stabilizers lubed with Krytox 205g0 Lubed Gateron Milky Yellow switches and SA chalk keycaps i dont reccommend this for a budget. Any way, thanks for this video because at the time i was new to the keyboard community and when i heard of the GK61 i immediatly LOVED it. Also can you please do a sound test for the GK61 and Gateron Black inks? I'm planning to buy it for one of my friends birthday because when he heard of thock he hated his keyboard and made it sound super bad🤣. Again thank you!
what cotton is that? looks pretty unique. also when I put more than one layer of tape it starts being too cramped for the USB port and on off switch to fit, it also happens if I put foam.

These are mechanical switches. Gateron makes optical yellows too. You’d need a keyboard or pcb thats made for optical switches tho. Most keebs you see out there are mechanical.
- slowly lift the plate from the board so as to not yank the cable - if you wanna be safe, place the plate adjacent to the board so the cable has some slack and not extended - use your fingers or nails to grab the plastic connector and slowly pull it out of the socket. don't pull on the wire itself though
Depends on what you want out of it. It's an affordable keyboard that works out the box with battery and wireless and all that. Many people just use it stock. Requires some effort to sound good though - i would say replace those thin keycaps with some thick ones at the very least.

Yes, the rgb light is on the board not the switch.
Edit: However if you use non-translucent keycap like his you wont see much of the light anyway.
Since it's for your girlfriend you should have had used OCTOPUS PBT KEYCAPS. That colour combination would have suited this video and the girl well.
