I love that you had it on your neck. Could have had it on your arm but when full on dog mode 😆
Haha, thank you! Trying to speak for the pups 🐶

"As long as there's a clear view of the sky"
Enjoyed the video and I think you sold me lol. Other reviews for halo explain why they keep having "discounts" ughhh . Glad I saw this lol :)
Glad you enjoyed!
Wish I saw this before I bought Halo… I can confirm the Halo 3 still does random Emergency Feedback when your pet is actually in the safe zone… and the boundary isn’t reliable… my girls got out twice today…. needless to say, I am returning and getting SpotOn
So sorry to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience. Hope SpotOn works better for you!
Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Have you tested the 'forest mode' for SpotOn?
Our acreage is heavily treed, and all the clear view of the sky talk is worrying!
Yes, forest mode is always turned on with SpotOn for almost a year now. They work best with a clear view of the sky, but they are definitely designed to work well in forested areas too. Great question!
Great video. I have a fairly small yard. About 50’ across and about 100’ deep. Just wondering which would work better in a small yard?
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. That's a fairly small space for GPS fences I'd say. Sometimes you can make it work if parts of the yard are fenced in with a physical fence, but you might want to look into wireless or in-ground fences instead. If I had to pick one I'd say SpotOn, but I think that would be a tricky application for either collar.
We want to use a GPS collar to surround our 1 acre property. Our house which has a metal roof would be right in the middle of the "fenced area. To you knowledge would that pose a barrier/problem for the GPS signal or collar? Thank you for your very thorough review!!! I will be buying one of these collars based on your response.
They should be fine with a metal roof. As an extra precaution you can set up a home zone around your house or and/or take the collars off when they are indoors. Good luck! Thanks for watching.
Does anyone know of either of these collars work in Australia?
How confident are you that with proper training, which we have no problems providing, that our two rescue pitties will learn to stay in area? We have about 2.5 acres with woods in back third. Street with moderate traffic out front with long driveway. Close to high school with normal kids driving up and down. Take them out on 50 ft leashes and the enjoy woods and.chasing, and sometimes catching wildlife. Deer included. My big worry is people who walk dog across the street on sidewalk. They are friendly dogs but take of running on leash to the abrupt end of leash. Are you confident SpotOn will provide the deterrent needed? Does training let them know boundaries before running right through the correction? Thanks. Your videos are very informative.
It does do a great job of reliably providing boundary alerts and warnings. Though it's not a physical fence, with proper training it can certainly keep your dog contained.
would you recommend the SpotOn collar for someone who wants to use it for camping, mostly in campgrounds? I would love to be able to change the parameter from single to multiple sites when camping with family.
Yes, absolutely. That's a great application.
yes.
(I'm answering the question)
Is the typical suburban back yard too small for these type of collars?
Depends I guess, somewhere close to Boston for example would probably be too small. But a little further out you could do just fine. A half acre is a good rule of thumb.
Could either collar be used as a bark collar? Can you send warnings/alerts on the fly?
Both have that functionality to some degree, I think only the Halo allows for correction by remote. They are manually issued though.
What's the best option as far as battery life? I've got Fi and it has great battery life but it's had a lot of issues so far
These two collars are pretty similar, at about a day's use per charge. The PetSafe guardian gets ~72 hours and has a removable battery, but it doesn't offer live tracking.
I have two dogs, can I sync either of these collars to use the same GPS fence, or do they have to be done separately?
Yes, both will work for multiple dogs.
We have a Micro Mini GoldenDoddle and, she is just under 6 pounds at 7 months of age and will max out at about 8-9 pounds. We need a VERY SMALL GPS collar/receiver, which I have not been able to find. Any recommendation (s) ? Thank you, Mike & Carolyn
I don't believe any of the fences are made for dogs of that size as of yet, unfortunately.
@@ThePamperedPup Thank you for your response. I too found nothing that would work for our little girl.
Wud Halo work since my cell service in my yard is not very strong, (cell phone calls can b made easily but not a strong 5g if any)...jus curious if it wud affect dog collar
The fence functionality should still work as intended in that case, but alerts on your phone, tracking, and similar features may not work as well.
👍👍👍👍👍
I have not been able to get an answer to my question online, or I am not asking Google correctly. Can I use either of these collars without creating fence boundaries? I have a large area where he can be out of sight but maybe not in restricted areas, and without shouting out his name, I simply want/need to know where he is on my smart phone.
Yeah they should both be able to do that. You may just want a simple tracker though, these might be overkill.
I already purchased the Halo several months ago, however, we live in a snowy place, and up until now I have not activated it or done any training.
What would you say about 60 acres? I have a 120 pound Rottweiler that has the personality of Ferdinand the Bull. However he’s a tramp. lol 😂 the new neighbors caught him on the trail camera.
Haha nice. That sounds like a great application for these collars. Make sure to really get the training down with a strong personality like his.
I'm torn about buying Spot On. I hear great things about the collar (60 days, 90 days into use) but the ppl who have experienced issues and had to warranty their collars, it sounds like Spot On is a nightmare to deal with and are difficult to get ahold of. For $1300 cdn/collar (and I would need 2), I'd expect better customer service. I'm posting this on multiple Spot On review videos hoping to get some insight into peoples experiences with the collar - and also hoping to create awareness to both consumers and Spot On. They would have had my $2600 by now if it wasn't for the negative reviews about their customer service.
Their customer service has been great in my experience. App makes it easy to get in touch and they seem to stand by their product. Maybe others can share experiences here too. Thanks!
it works on you dose it work on dogs ?
Yes they do! Dogs need to be trained, just like me 😀
thats a goooooooooood doggy@@ThePamperedPup
