      Hi! I just uploaded a video on exercise, I highly recommend taking a look at that. I have all my clients completely stop exercise until they have 3 consecutive cycles under 35 days. This is important for both physical and mental health.

    Thank you so much for your videos... It's such a helpful present to hear your story and your testimony ❤️🌹I have a question: did you recover while you had an activity such as school or work? Do you think it's possible to recover with a very occupied schedule? I'm anorexic, I'm trying to recover but i'm also very busy with my studies. I feel like school is helping me to keep going, keep a contact with the real world... but at the same time it is keeping my away from a genuine engagement in my recovery...

      Hi! I know it is so hard to balance life, responsibilities, and recovery but thats life for ya. It's never going to be the "perfect" time for you to recover. Instead it takes you simply committing to recovery DESPITE the obstacles that come your way. I was working during my recovery but I made sure that I did what my body needed in order to get better. I made sure every morning I had a very nutritious large breakfast to start my day off with energy, packed tons of snacks and made sure I took mini breaks to eat it. Working actually helped a lot because it kept me busy and focusing on other things rather than sitting at home focusing on the fact that I wish I could be at the gym or on a run. Diving into the real world for me was my answer. Like I said, it got me out of my head and out there in the world, building relationships, learning new things, being productive in my career etc. I think recovery is really about DISCOVERY--- discovering who you are in this world, who you want to be, and what hobbies and passions you have (besides cooking, exercising etc.). I also was so busy with life, new relationships, work opportunities etc, that I had no time to exercise... so again staying busy helped in my recovery. I hope this helps you! Stay with it. If you are needing support reach out to me and we can schedule a free call to see if coaching can help you through this process!

    Hello! My period came back recently for the first time in 6 months but when i had it, it was very very light and only lasted 3 days. Im wondering if this is a good sign i have been following the 2500 calorie recovery but i dont know if i should lower it because i already kind of got it back i think. Any tips??

    • @flowwithchlo
      @flowwithchlo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I would not every true to purposefully lower my calories below 2500. That is a pretty good normal average amount of food to be eating everyday. Too much lower and the body won't get the energy it needs to thrive.
      Also on another note, I wouldn't change anything until I got 3 solids periods in a row under 35 days. Continue to really nourish and take care of your body not only now as you still recover but after as well.
      Remember too that merely getting your period back does not mean that you have achieved full recovery. Recovery is both a mental and physical game so if you are still counting calories I would look into how 'free' you have become with food.Now that is not meant to sound like a judgement, I do not even know who you are and where you are at on your journey, rather this is a general statement that I would say to anyone who came to me telling me they knew exactly how many calories they eat each day.

    Question, how long did it take for your weight to plateau if you know? I'm in HA recovery and eating 2,500 calories a day and I know I hate to keep eating this way even after I get my period but I'm scared I'm going to keep gaining weight forever...

      Hi! I would love to answer that but honestly it's kinda pointless just because we are all different and the extent to how much we go all in changes how fast or slow everything will happen. What I will say is that I really went ALL IN. I ate a ton of rich, nourishing foods; liver, pate, lamb chops, butter, heavy cream, milk with ghee + honey, 5 egg omelettes. I also went completely cold turkey on my exercise and really allowed my body to heal quickly. My weight shot up quickly...very quickly. But then soon it just stopped. My appetite naturally shifted and I started plateauing in my weight gain. I know it's scary but trust the process. Forget about the weight for a second and just focus on nourishing yourself with good food each day and taking it easy on the exercise or completely eliminating it if necessary.

    Do you think someone can recover while vegan?

    • @flowwithchlo
      @flowwithchlo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question! I will definitely try and make more content on that. I do not believe someone can follow that strict of a dietary regime and mentally recover. It is super important to be able to eat ALL foods without this notion of "good" vs "bad". This good vs bad food mentality keeps the eating disorder going. It's also important to be able to eat anything that anyone gives you and if you are vegan your ability to say yes to dinners at friends houses and going out to restaurants is limited which again fuels the ed mind. I also don't believe that you can nutritionally rehabilitate while vegan. Eating disorders deplete your body sooooo much that is would be unwise to eat a diet that is lacking in many essential things-- choline, cholesterol (building blocks of all hormones, super important to get your period back), B12, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, etc. I think orthorexia, a fixation on healthy eating, is another eating disorder and although its more socially acceptable than say starving, it's still not recovered.

      So I take it you are taking birth control? I recommend going to my Instagram page and reading this post instagram.com/p/CJEQmRBJ-tP/?
      I talk about Birth Control and how it is not necessarily the solution to amenorrhea. Hope that helps!
