I agree 100% ! I never did much PVP until I was level 280ish. @Robert Gee I've played through 500 levels between two characters, all but the last 10 in defensive mode and running from anything resembling a fight. Since watching TicTactic, I've engaged whenever necessary. I get my ass handed to me, sure, but I'm starting to hand some back and it feels great!

This was a great video. It had great info for all levels of players but it was also actually enjoyable. I watch a lot of red dead instructionals and as much as I love the game and appreciate the creators, they can be difficult to sit thru and keep focused. Something about the way Tic talks made it feel more like a good conversation. Very engaging. I didn't ADHD flake at all which is a big 👍. BTW, I tried to post a comment with a link to a spreadsheet on weapons and ability card values but it's not here so, idk. I mean, you already said it all but when I got my hands on the number values, it really enhanced my understanding, just thought u might find it interesting.

😃 Glad to hear. I know it helps me out a lot just to warm up a bit. I use to do this on Rainbow Six Siege (terrorist hunt) a lot just to warm up for matches.
I play PvP mostly. 2 Mausers (best of the best at PvP, fire rate, reload, DPS best in the game, also good accuracy), pump-action shotgun (best PvP shotgun), Carcano rifle(best everywhere 24/7) Cards: Dead aye card is (PIB) because is the best, you can do head shot at any situation, and you can use it camera when you stay behind the wall and make a markets at the target kill the target before you saw the target. Defense cards: Newer without one + Iron lung. NWO save you from headshot and give you 10% negation damage when it's on you. But when you lose the hat after hat save you from head shoot, you take more damage 17%. Iron lung this card recover our stamina very fast and give us 10% negation damage when stamina is full or not less then 75%. Damage card: (Sharpshooter) Because of Carcano rifle or any rifle or repeater when you use the scope. It's give you 20% more gamage and 20% damage negation when you scooping. Best card ever! I do not know why people use the Peak condition... It's 7 % more damage useless as special y when players use the tonics, garbage card only maybe for sniper rifle with sharpshooter, but you mostly I do not saw mutch difference, because I shot at the lower part of the head (that how you can counter NWO, but mostly it's hard to do at the long distance)... Iron Lung it's mutch more perspective at any case. Slow and Steady... Well tank builds is wery easy to counter by shotgun or explosions arrows or explosions ammo... Or shotgun, or sniper rifle... Or headshot... For my opinion not that good then slippery bastard (counter very popular PIB card) with double sniper rifle with Carcano short scope and Rolling block rifle with long scope and of course the double sawed-off. So your build not that good for PvP I think... Weapons load good. But revolvers for my opinion mostly for PvE by a lot of reasons. If If I want (NO) to use revolvers at PvP I will take LeMats revolvers because of 6 extra bullets and 2 shell shoots which can save the ass at the close distance..
I appreciate the comment. You have some great stuff and interesting opinions in some of your paragraphs. I appreciate the tip on 7% increase for Peak Condition compared to other offensive cards. I always have fun conversations with people who use Pib the most because of their play style compared to S&S. I added a link to a commented I pinned that breaks down all weapons and ability cards. Was this where you were able to figure out the 7% Peak Condition or was it from a different source?

Really interesting that you have your settings all the way up just the same as me. I had assumed that you would have the edge taken off because of your accuracy with the Navies. Just the skill difference then! 😁👍
That is weird. Maybe it's just something I practice more with but I have my settings all the way up mainly for sniping. I do use a taller joystick on my controller (only my right joystick) just to give me more control while aiming.
@@TicTacticYT There is a steadiness in your sniping aiming that I wrongly had down to a slower setting. I have made a conscious effort to slow my shooting with my Navies and that has certainly helped. SnS gives me that little bit more time so I don’t have to panic spam! Back to the practicing 😁👍

i use the same weapons, but my shotgun is where your Carcano is. It's super fast and easy to grab a shotgun if someone gets too close for my Carcano. If it's on the left, i sometimes grab a lasso by mistake 😄
I love using the Elite controller but they don't seem to last long. After 2 years I get the stick drift or a bumper stops working and I have to purchase another. Wish Microsoft would fix these. 😢
That's great to hear. Thank you! 😃 A great tip to know (I should make this into a video) When fighting another player you should look to see what ability cards they're using. If I see someone using PiB, I know they'll be fighting more medium range and headshots. If I see someone using a Sharpshooter card, I will know they're good at sniping. Seeing their cards helps me know their strengths and weaknesses, so that way I put them into a position where they have to fight my strengths. My strengths are short to medium range, so if I was fighting someone good at sniping I would be going from cover to cover to get up closer or let them come to me. Hope this helps and good luck! 😃
if using a shotgun there’s a lot of ways to mess around with the different ammo’s. Slugs and Pib are a dangerous combo at medium ranges since they make it 100% accurate, which gets rid of the main drawback of using a shotgun at ranges which is accuracy.
I run the short scope on the Carcano. It's faster to target with the short scope vs long. I do prefer to use the long scope on my Rolling Block just for fun and those long range shots. 😃
There’s nothing more sad than being a level 300 and getting my ass kicked all the time because I suck at pvp 😢. I hate being terrible at the game I love to play, I’ve tried so many things but I’m so slow. This video is great and I’m going to be trying out some of these tips

@@cipriandjbril i started playing destiny 2 like a month ago. whenever i played RDO i usually always had my settings set to wide. Just a couple days ago i started using free aim and im soo much better using it now than whenever i tried using it before. Playing games like destiny where you have to free aim definitely help!! 🫶🏻
I was reading some of the comment sand will you be posting a video on the difference between some of the ability cards? Seems like there's some debate between Fool Me Once and Iron Lung.
For some reason, and I know I’ll get flak for this, I run the Litchfield. I feel that the second follow up shot is more accurate than the lancaster’s second shot.
That's awesome that you use the Litchfield. It's fun hearing from others on how they use different guns and build their skills around it. I'm okay when using repeaters but have always been better using the Navy Revolvers and setting up ability cards to build around my strengths. I will have to try the Litchfield out more. I always have my quick assign set to my navy revolvers. Switching from bolas to navys in a close fight is a good set up especially against two or more griefers.
Best advice for some fun PvP in Red Dead Online is to learn to use all three Deadeye cards (Paint It Black, Slow & Steady, and Slippery Bastard) and learn which passive cards work best for you and your weapon loadout. Changing your cards often will help you not only be more versatile in gunfights, but learn the weaknesses for each. I change my cards often depending on the situation and location. I love to use Slow & Steady a lot especially when driving wagons, but also use Paint It Black when protecting friends wagons on horseback, and Slippery Bastard when going after player bounties. I love using Gunslingers Choice for Navy Revolvers in town because of short and medium range, but change to Sharpshooter when out of town in open areas to snipe. Learning different styles of gunfighting also makes you more efficient when playing with friends. When fighting against large numbers, having friends in Slow & Steady and Slippery Bastard up front allows your friends using Paint It Black to be behind them and mark enemies easier without worrying about getting shot. Just fun tips I've learned over the years that make the game fun and gives you more stuff to do in the game since R* stopped making new content. 20:30 for paint it black best loadout is iron lung / fool me once / never without one /( dual mausers / semis pistols / Lancaster/ evans / double barrel shotgun / semi auto
This is what I love about the PvP in Red Dead Online. So many players have different builds that work great for the weapons they run and for their style of gunfighting. @@TicTacticYT From my own personal testing, they both actually take the same amount of damage .. it’s just comes down to personal preference. If you get around to doing some testing, Let me know what you come up with. My numbers using the Carcano with a tier 1 tonic was 3 shots & it took 4 shots using a tier 2 tonic. Mauser Pistol for both cards was 14 shots with a tier 3 tonic. I, Still gotta try the revolvers /repeaters & shotguns. But I’m pretty sure the results won’t be much different.
I think this comes down to debate. Typically it takes two to three shots to down a player if you can't get the headshot. More than two shots Fool Me Once works better but less means Iron Lung is better. I did all this. I also changed the camera setting like you said in another video where it doesn't "snap" back. The only thing I may have done differently was I made one of my paddles execute the dive action. Then I started playing Call to Arms in Free Aim. This is changing my game play. Thanks. Makes so much sense. I really don't know why my settings were what they were. Kinda stupid.😂 thanks so much!

I enjoyed playing cards. First thing I did when I started was top out all my cards. Missions are easily won with any card, so top they out even the junk cards.👍
I usually only run express ammo but if I run pistols I run one with High Velocity rounds for extra ammo. Nice thing about High Velocity is it extends your range for easier lock on mode. I appreciate the comment and I'll give it some thought on a video. 😀
So I have a question, now that I've examined the whole video. I consider myself a sniper. And I really - really - don't like using Dead Eye. It just feels wrong and I feel like I'm hindering my own evolvement. Now since I'm sleeping with a Carcano under my pillow, what build would you recommend? Slippery Basterd / Sharp Shooter / Peak Condition / Iron Lung or Focus Fire / Sharp Shooter / Landon's Patience / Peak Condition Which of the two would you deem better for me?
Great question! 😀 That's tough, if I was using the Carcano at medium/long range I would be using Slippery, but when it's just long range Slippery would be useless because they wouldn't be able to lock on to you. So Focus Fire would be better. I think Slippery B would work better in most situations especially since you like to go after player bounties.
@@TicTacticYT Thank you very much, Tic! Thing is, I want my achievements to be my own. I don't want to resort to AI-assistance. At least not when I'm sniping. Which is kind of hypocritical, I know. I'll gladly use Auto-Aim at short distances, just BECAUSE I don't use Dead Eye :) So I think I'ma roll with Slippery B / Sharp Shooter / Peak Condition / Iron Long - for the time being and see what results it yields. Btw: changing the settings on "wide" for auto-aim has yielded some great results so far. My Pump Action is finally hitting when the enemy player is like 30 yards away! :)
You mentioned about using the Xbox elite series 2 controller in your video would you have a video on your settings on how have it set up red dead I got the paddles mapped to the buttons but I’m wondering about the right and left trigger and al other settings
That's a great question! I do show my button placement in the video ( you may have to pause the video 07:17 ). I mainly recommend having your A button on your left paddles allowing you to run and ride your horse one handed. I have adjusted my controller to shoot quicker just by adjusting the trigger locks. I have my left trigger lock in the middle and my right trigger lock set to hair trigger allowing me to only have to push down on it slightly. Keep in mind that the game has fun features allowing you to draw your weapon but not shoot if you have your trigger lock set to default. I thought about making this into a video but there's not much to talk about and this really comes down to what you are comfortable with. Few other friends use the same controller as well but we have different suggestions besides the A button I mentioned before. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching! 😃

@@TicTacticYT it was especially the weapon loadout part. I had always just been using the bow and arrow, some random rifle or repeater, and two lemat revolvers. I still use the lemats because I like how much ammo they hold, but changing the other weapons to shotgun and sniper rifle were extremely handy… oh and now knowing that changing ability cards mid fight is a totally viable thing to do
I change my cards often but it always depends on what you're doing and where. When I first started playing I never thought the cards really mattered... but they do.
@@TicTacticYT I almost never do (but probably should), and I always stuck with horseman, friends for life, and recently gunslinger's choice. Works great for NPC's. Players? not so much haha. Trying out the slow and steady thing you mentioned in this video, difficult to adjust to but working it out (trying to get everything to level 3 before I decide if I like it or not)
@@TicTacticYT I uh… feel the need to give a quick update on this comment - having actually gotten the chance to use some of the info in this from randomly being attacked, I think I’ve lost the right to say I fight like a dead squirrel. Still work to be done, but I can actually hold my own at least against lower level people instead of just running away (at least with the help of a posse or allies)
3:10 to Yuma. Russell Crowe's character Ben Wade. His gun is called The Hand of God. It's said to be cursed. As anyone who touches it, other than Wade is eventually killed. 😉 It's a remake of an older western but it's not bad. Christian Bale and Ben Foster are in it as well.
You must have never with out one card while running PIB . It’s the most powerful card . But you always need a hat. Boy character you need beaver hat and girl character you need posse outfit on with a hair pin so you can automatically put the hats back on in your weapon wheel
Like jmh8846 said earlier, I use the short scope for the Carcano and the long scope for Rolling Block as well. I have some friends who choose to use the medium scope for the Carcano too. I suggest trying them all out and seeing which you prefer. Thanks for watching! 😃
A year late, but just gotta say, your character looks so siq! Question tho, as load outs go, what do you think of 2 sawed off’s for short, a Lancaster for medium (short as well) and Carcano for long?
That's a good question and it's something I forget to mess around with. I have it on default but I use to tighten the tension up when I practiced aiming and then loosen it back up when I game. 😃
just make sure you dont waste a dime on this game...there are way to many no win situations due to bugs etc...if you buy the game to play...DO NOT BUY IN GAME GOLD ....its a ton of wasted money.
my ability cards for pvp are all buff combat...the unblinking eye i mean what difference does it make if you get 8 extra seconds of Deadeye if you are getting merked
The ability card Unblinking Eye allows your deadeye to last longer (drain less). I rarely use it but when I do I use it with Slippery Bastard. I also like to use Unblinking Eye when running Focus Fire or Quite an Inspiration for posse members when they're in combat but I'm not for an extra advantage. You do need the garment to do the posse outfit as a female character. Male characters only need the garment. Please use the glitch wisely, most people feel like it's a cheat in the game... but it's a video game and who am I to tell anyone on how to play a game. 😃
I assume you're asking about the vest I'm wearing it's from an outlaw pass R* released awhile back. I hope R* brings some of this back for people to get.
@@TicTacticYT Gonna info bomb you. also if you wear a headband it makes never with out one better than iron long as the buff always stays and the hat cant get knocked off. and if you're running free aim (useless against a posse) repeaters and pistols ONLY will have a further head shot range however it doesnt have any effect on throwables/bow/snipers/shootguns when it comes to headshots for further distance players can still survive them. The lemat revolver if you switch to shotgun shell and pib someones head from a medium distance you can one tap them making it range better than any shotguns in the game but its Extremely useless in pvp as you have to paint the person head black and if you drink lvl 1 tonic you can just cancel out the headshot damage its better to use shawed offs or pistols. pretty sure the landons patience ability card has ben bugged where it doesnt give any bonus dmg idk check. You can build up your winning streak by damaging your self with toxic moonshine,molotov to gain good dmg good to build up for Rolling block if you're cranked. you forgot to mention if you paint someone go behind a wall or a cliff/rock/tree then prees Rt your character gun will stick out and shoot through the obstacle but wall banging still exists with out it ,Peak condition is pretty useless in pvp as you gonna drink potent miracle tonic or miracle tonics the dmg it gives is barrely usefull to make any kind of difference especially in shotgun fights .i wouldn't recommend using repeaters scope as it takes 2-3 headshots to kill a player or even more if they have sharpshooter (still possible to win). bolt action somewhat makes a difference still useless, sometimes slip player might pull out explosives or bolas if he gets close enough .if you use explosive bullets in scope headshots wont kill the player lol but if you use regular bullets it one taps (use tonic) .also if you use wide aim and go far enough in range where the player can survive a headshot all Repeaters damage to the head will always be the same the bullet type wont matter so if you use regular bullet to headshot the dmg is the same as an explosive bullet lol. evans is just much better for everything. if you use shawed of shotguns youre free aim speed will be much faster than using longarm (the aim settings dont take effect on auto aim) If you Hold RT and spam B you will have an op advantage in a choke fight( you need togle to hold in settings. the person who chokes first is likely to win because if they run out of stamina they can still choke) the shotgun usually gets replaced with bolas lol. Before the Armour outfit got patched if you had Sharpshooter and slow and steady you were able to survive a dynamite bow to the head as it blocked the arrow damage but kept dynamite damage letting you survive it

"evans is just much better for everything". - It's funny when editing this video I knew someone would comment me on Landcaster vs Evans Repeater. I think we both have seen enough TH-cam videos to know this will always be an answer for Pib players to debate. "Before the Armour outfit got patched if you had Sharpshooter and slow and steady you were able to survive a dynamite bow to the head as it blocked the arrow damage but kept dynamite damage letting you survive it" - Are you talking about Fool's Gold event when wearing the armor or just wearing armor in free roam using the glitch? Again, I appreciate the comment and I think a lot of us love knowing more info in Red Dead Online. 😃
@@TicTacticYT the armour where you were able to glitch into free roam by entering a cutscene. using self harm with toxic moonshine or Molotov to build up the winning streak is good to make the rolling block a 2 shoot if you're cracked with it. peak condition damage is irrelevant Short game dmg isnt worth it neither just better off choosing dont foll me once . yes you can survive headshots(same goes for npcs) depending on the range some times you can even survive close range shots to the head doesn't matter what weapon (harder to pull off) sniper/repeater/pistol/shotgun if you see that the game says you got a body shot but get xp for a hat shot you shot the person in the head (dont even need the card to survive shots to the head) .bolt action has further pib range but that further range it has is useless as it wont even damage the player making repeaters more superior. fire rate in the game is superior than anything making the Lancaster pointless to use, people just like to use the gun i prefer Litchfield. there's also the struggle thing where you put players into an animation if you're unarmed even if he holds a gun or melee its quite difficult to put players into sometimes but if you pull it off spam Y and B you can throw them Start sprinting towards them (gotta have standard settings) which makes them ragdoll then you can just give them the most humiliating execution you want making unarmed most op melee, also if you hold a sidearm out and a player with low hp tackles you and if you get up and spam Y if you manage to get in a struggle your player will do a cool animation of hitting him with the gun while in the struggle, long arms dont work .you can also interrogate npcs by throwing them 2-3 times while having long arm equipped(when their scared make sure to put away longarm away or youll ragdoll them)If you have a white witness you wont even need a weapon to scare them but this is really old info as it got added with moonshiner dlc .can punch the shit out of npcs smashing their heads againts the walls twice you can also do it to player bounty's but a bit glitched, eta doyale would be the easiest to abuse. theres this new bug where you can go through doors by using cry emote but you can also go through thin walls lol.if you go to valentine and doctor store if you manage to glitch behind the black door you can find bitters tonic for sale free drinks and ammunition and you can find hair growth tonic cant pick it up even tough you werent suppos to be there theres things for sale.

I know a lot of players wish there were servers for only free-aim players. I personally enjoy lock on mode but do play free-aim once in awhile. I think free-aim users are more of the hardcore players where lock on mode seems to cater towards the causal players. It's all about having fun with friends in RDO. 😃

😃It is, nicely done. I'm surprised how many people got that reference. It's a good movie but not the best western I've ever seen. I always recommend the movie The Sisters Brothers to watch. My wife is not very big into watching westerns but loved this movie.
I love the sisters brothers too ! great modern western for sure. If you liked it and like modern social dramas, I'd recommend you watch "Un Prophete" by the same director, one of the best french movies of the last decade or so. It's very hardcore (not for children) but amazing. Also another underrated modern western imo is Hell or High Water, masterpiece.
Why every time I shoot someone I keep having to shoot to kill them but they always one shot me. I try to head shot but I always miss or it just goes to body shots
This could be because of a few reasons... Always check the player you are fighting to see their ability cards. You can do this by clicking on the player list, select the player, and scroll down to see their cards. This will tell you if they run the ability cards like NEVER WITHOUT ONE which blocks one head shot while they're wearing a hat. Also the Deadeye card SLOW & STEADY blocks headshots too. Body shots do take longer to down a player especially if they're using defensive ability cards like IRON LUNG and FOOL ME ONCE. It could also be that you're not landing your shots when aiming for the head. Even I miss my shots often so it's best to slow down your shots and make each shot count. Different guns have different recoil so always watch the bloom and wait till it shrinks around your target for more accuracy. This takes practice and I always recommend playing Call To Arms to fight against NPC's. Once you can consistently land headshots against NPC's then try against players. Keep in mind higher level players practice this often to make it look easy. Even I was terrible at PvP when first starting out in Red Dead Online Hope this helps and good luck. 😃
Good question! 😃 I assume you've already unlocked and leveled up every role. Most of the pamphlets are unlocked from the roles. Back when R* still did outlaw passes they gave out some special pamphlets and this could have been one of them. I wish R* would bring these back for new players.
On PC to dominate PvP it seems all you have to do is get cheat mods. S**t is getting ridiculous there. Can barely even do free roam without one in the lobby. As for the video, thanks as there was some good information there I could take from it.

😃I love the Navy's as well! I've only used the Auto shotgun a bit but lean towards the Pump only because it has a little more range to help stun at a farther distance. I'll have to try the Auto more often because a friend uses it a lot as well.
@@TicTacticYT I was referring to the navy and semi auto pistol in combo, it’s the best honestly, quick and deadly. For shotguns I use the semi auto shotgun or pump action too
😃I've only used the semi pistols with PiB but hard to say no to my Navys. Have you ever tried the Volcanic Pistols? I highly recommend if you enjoy the Navy because they hold more ammo and have a little farther range. Down side of using the Volcanics are slower gun fire.
That was part of an Outlaw pass back in the day. Rumor has it R* might bring it out again but just rumors. I wish R* would release some older Outlaw/Quick Draw passes because I'm missing the first pass and I'm sure new players would like to get some of these items.

This was a great video. It had great info for all levels of players but it was also actually enjoyable. I watch a lot of red dead instructionals and as much as I love the game and appreciate the creators, they can be difficult to sit thru and keep focused. Something about the way Tic talks made it feel more like a good conversation. Very engaging. I didn't ADHD flake at all which is a big 👍.

I play PvP mostly.
2 Mausers (best of the best at PvP, fire rate, reload, DPS best in the game, also good accuracy), pump-action shotgun (best PvP shotgun), Carcano rifle(best everywhere 24/7)
Cards:
Dead aye card is (PIB) because is the best, you can do head shot at any situation, and you can use it camera when you stay behind the wall and make a markets at the target kill the target before you saw the target.
Defense cards: Newer without one + Iron lung.
NWO save you from headshot and give you 10% negation damage when it's on you. But when you lose the hat after hat save you from head shoot, you take more damage 17%.
Iron lung this card recover our stamina very fast and give us 10% negation damage when stamina is full or not less then 75%.
Damage card: (Sharpshooter) Because of Carcano rifle or any rifle or repeater when you use the scope. It's give you 20% more gamage and 20% damage negation when you scooping. Best card ever!
I do not know why people use the Peak condition... It's 7 % more damage useless as special y when players use the tonics, garbage card only maybe for sniper rifle with sharpshooter, but you mostly I do not saw mutch difference, because I shot at the lower part of the head (that how you can counter NWO, but mostly it's hard to do at the long distance)... Iron Lung it's mutch more perspective at any case.
Slow and Steady... Well tank builds is wery easy to counter by shotgun or explosions arrows or explosions ammo... Or shotgun, or sniper rifle... Or headshot... For my opinion not that good then slippery bastard (counter very popular PIB card) with double sniper rifle with Carcano short scope and Rolling block rifle with long scope and of course the double sawed-off.
So your build not that good for PvP I think... Weapons load good. But revolvers for my opinion mostly for PvE by a lot of reasons. If If I want (NO) to use revolvers at PvP I will take LeMats revolvers because of 6 extra bullets and 2 shell shoots which can save the ass at the close distance..

Really interesting that you have your settings all the way up just the same as me. I had assumed that you would have the edge taken off because of your accuracy with the Navies. Just the skill difference then! 😁👍
That is weird. Maybe it's just something I practice more with but I have my settings all the way up mainly for sniping. I do use a taller joystick on my controller (only my right joystick) just to give me more control while aiming.
@@TicTacticYT There is a steadiness in your sniping aiming that I wrongly had down to a slower setting. I have made a conscious effort to slow my shooting with my Navies and that has certainly helped. SnS gives me that little bit more time so I don’t have to panic spam! Back to the practicing 😁👍

I’m going to add, for sniping, practicing on flying birds in the distance helped me, as their movement isn’t linear and you have to quickly adjust.

i use the same weapons, but my shotgun is where your Carcano is. It's super fast and easy to grab a shotgun if someone gets too close for my Carcano. If it's on the left, i sometimes grab a lasso by mistake 😄

A great tip to know (I should make this into a video)
When fighting another player you should look to see what ability cards they're using. If I see someone using PiB, I know they'll be fighting more medium range and headshots. If I see someone using a Sharpshooter card, I will know they're good at sniping. Seeing their cards helps me know their strengths and weaknesses, so that way I put them into a position where they have to fight my strengths. My strengths are short to medium range, so if I was fighting someone good at sniping I would be going from cover to cover to get up closer or let them come to me.

if using a shotgun there’s a lot of ways to mess around with the different ammo’s. Slugs and Pib are a dangerous combo at medium ranges since they make it 100% accurate, which gets rid of the main drawback of using a shotgun at ranges which is accuracy.
That is a very good tip to know when using Pib and Shotguns. Even regular shotgun rounds have less spread because of Pib. Thank you for sharing. 😃

I run the short scope on the Carcano. It's faster to target with the short scope vs long. I do prefer to use the long scope on my Rolling Block just for fun and those long range shots. 😃

I'm okay when using repeaters but have always been better using the Navy Revolvers and setting up ability cards to build around my strengths. I will have to try the Litchfield out more. I always have my quick assign set to my navy revolvers. Switching from bolas to navys in a close fight is a good set up especially against two or more griefers.

Best advice for some fun PvP in Red Dead Online is to learn to use all three Deadeye cards (Paint It Black, Slow & Steady, and Slippery Bastard) and learn which passive cards work best for you and your weapon loadout. Changing your cards often will help you not only be more versatile in gunfights, but learn the weaknesses for each.
I change my cards often depending on the situation and location. I love to use Slow & Steady a lot especially when driving wagons, but also use Paint It Black when protecting friends wagons on horseback, and Slippery Bastard when going after player bounties. I love using Gunslingers Choice for Navy Revolvers in town because of short and medium range, but change to Sharpshooter when out of town in open areas to snipe.
Learning different styles of gunfighting also makes you more efficient when playing with friends. When fighting against large numbers, having friends in Slow & Steady and Slippery Bastard up front allows your friends using Paint It Black to be behind them and mark enemies easier without worrying about getting shot.
Just fun tips I've learned over the years that make the game fun and gives you more stuff to do in the game since R* stopped making new content. Hope some of this helps and thank you so much for the comment and for watching. 😃

This is what I love about the PvP in Red Dead Online. So many players have different builds that work great for the weapons they run and for their style of gunfighting. I wish R* had put more time into this but it's still fun and great to see players like you who run a fun build.

@@TicTacticYT From my own personal testing, they both actually take the same amount of damage .. it’s just comes down to personal preference. If you get around to doing some testing, Let me know what you come up with. My numbers using the Carcano with a tier 1 tonic was 3 shots & it took 4 shots using a tier 2 tonic. Mauser Pistol for both cards was 14 shots with a tier 3 tonic. I, Still gotta try the revolvers /repeaters & shotguns. But I’m pretty sure the results won’t be much different.
I think this comes down to debate. Typically it takes two to three shots to down a player if you can't get the headshot. More than two shots Fool Me Once works better but less means Iron Lung is better.

I did all this. I also changed the camera setting like you said in another video where it doesn't "snap" back. The only thing I may have done differently was I made one of my paddles execute the dive action. Then I started playing Call to Arms in Free Aim. This is changing my game play. Thanks. Makes so much sense. I really don't know why my settings were what they were. Kinda stupid.😂 thanks so much!

I was the same when I first started. I don't think I used any ability cards till after level 100. I highly recommend Call to Arms. Great practice, money, gold, and experience to level up.

I usually only run express ammo but if I run pistols I run one with High Velocity rounds for extra ammo. Nice thing about High Velocity is it extends your range for easier lock on mode.

That's tough, if I was using the Carcano at medium/long range I would be using Slippery, but when it's just long range Slippery would be useless because they wouldn't be able to lock on to you. So Focus Fire would be better.
I think Slippery B would work better in most situations especially since you like to go after player bounties.

That's a great question!
I do show my button placement in the video ( you may have to pause the video 07:17 ). I mainly recommend having your A button on your left paddles allowing you to run and ride your horse one handed.
I have adjusted my controller to shoot quicker just by adjusting the trigger locks. I have my left trigger lock in the middle and my right trigger lock set to hair trigger allowing me to only have to push down on it slightly.
Keep in mind that the game has fun features allowing you to draw your weapon but not shoot if you have your trigger lock set to default.
I thought about making this into a video but there's not much to talk about and this really comes down to what you are comfortable with. Few other friends use the same controller as well but we have different suggestions besides the A button I mentioned before.

I still use the lemats because I like how much ammo they hold, but changing the other weapons to shotgun and sniper rifle were extremely handy… oh and now knowing that changing ability cards mid fight is a totally viable thing to do
I change my cards often but it always depends on what you're doing and where. When I first started playing I never thought the cards really mattered... but they do.

Trying out the slow and steady thing you mentioned in this video, difficult to adjust to but working it out (trying to get everything to level 3 before I decide if I like it or not)

What scope is best for the carcano
I don't know is it best but in Carcano I use short scope. In Rolling block rifle I have long scope, it is my hunting weapon
Like jmh8846 said earlier, I use the short scope for the Carcano and the long scope for Rolling Block as well. I have some friends who choose to use the medium scope for the Carcano too. I suggest trying them all out and seeing which you prefer.

That's a good question and it's something I forget to mess around with. I have it on default but I use to tighten the tension up when I practiced aiming and then loosen it back up when I game. 😃

my ability cards for pvp are all buff combat...the unblinking eye i mean what difference does it make if you get 8 extra seconds of Deadeye if you are getting merked
The ability card Unblinking Eye allows your deadeye to last longer (drain less). I rarely use it but when I do I use it with Slippery Bastard. I also like to use Unblinking Eye when running Focus Fire or Quite an Inspiration for posse members when they're in combat but I'm not for an extra advantage.

You do need the garment to do the posse outfit as a female character. Male characters only need the garment.

@@TicTacticYT Gonna info bomb you. also if you wear a headband it makes never with out one better than iron long as the buff always stays and the hat cant get knocked off. and if you're running free aim (useless against a posse) repeaters and pistols ONLY will have a further head shot range however it doesnt have any effect on throwables/bow/snipers/shootguns when it comes to headshots for further distance players can still survive them. The lemat revolver if you switch to shotgun shell and pib someones head from a medium distance you can one tap them making it range better than any shotguns in the game but its Extremely useless in pvp as you have to paint the person head black and if you drink lvl 1 tonic you can just cancel out the headshot damage its better to use shawed offs or pistols. pretty sure the landons patience ability card has ben bugged where it doesnt give any bonus dmg idk check. You can build up your winning streak by damaging your self with toxic moonshine,molotov to gain good dmg good to build up for Rolling block if you're cranked. you forgot to mention if you paint someone go behind a wall or a cliff/rock/tree then prees Rt your character gun will stick out and shoot through the obstacle but wall banging still exists with out it ,Peak condition is pretty useless in pvp as you gonna drink potent miracle tonic or miracle tonics the dmg it gives is barrely usefull to make any kind of difference especially in shotgun fights .i wouldn't recommend using repeaters scope as it takes 2-3 headshots to kill a player or even more if they have sharpshooter (still possible to win). bolt action somewhat makes a difference still useless, sometimes slip player might pull out explosives or bolas if he gets close enough .if you use explosive bullets in scope headshots wont kill the player lol but if you use regular bullets it one taps (use tonic) .also if you use wide aim and go far enough in range where the player can survive a headshot all Repeaters damage to the head will always be the same the bullet type wont matter so if you use regular bullet to headshot the dmg is the same as an explosive bullet lol. evans is just much better for everything. if you use shawed of shotguns youre free aim speed will be much faster than using longarm (the aim settings dont take effect on auto aim) If you Hold RT and spam B you will have an op advantage in a choke fight( you need togle to hold in settings. the person who chokes first is likely to win because if they run out of stamina they can still choke) the shotgun usually gets replaced with bolas lol. Before the Armour outfit got patched if you had Sharpshooter and slow and steady you were able to survive a dynamite bow to the head as it blocked the arrow damage but kept dynamite damage letting you survive it

I haven't used Landons Patience in awhile, I'll make sure it's not glitched but months ago it was still working properly as long as you wait before shooting.

Not sure what you mean here, are you saying the damage buff is not worth running and if so what card would be better? I realize the ability card Winning Streak will eventually have a better damage buff the more shot's you put on a player but I think in most fights you only have time to put a few shots on a player and we're all trying for head shots anyways.

"evans is just much better for everything". - It's funny when editing this video I knew someone would comment me on Landcaster vs Evans Repeater. I think we both have seen enough TH-cam videos to know this will always be an answer for Pib players to debate.

@@TicTacticYT the armour where you were able to glitch into free roam by entering a cutscene. using self harm with toxic moonshine or Molotov to build up the winning streak is good to make the rolling block a 2 shoot if you're cracked with it. peak condition damage is irrelevant Short game dmg isnt worth it neither just better off choosing dont foll me once . yes you can survive headshots(same goes for npcs) depending on the range some times you can even survive close range shots to the head doesn't matter what weapon (harder to pull off) sniper/repeater/pistol/shotgun if you see that the game says you got a body shot but get xp for a hat shot you shot the person in the head (dont even need the card to survive shots to the head) .bolt action has further pib range but that further range it has is useless as it wont even damage the player making repeaters more superior. fire rate in the game is superior than anything making the Lancaster pointless to use, people just like to use the gun i prefer Litchfield. there's also the struggle thing where you put players into an animation if you're unarmed even if he holds a gun or melee its quite difficult to put players into sometimes but if you pull it off spam Y and B you can throw them Start sprinting towards them (gotta have standard settings) which makes them ragdoll then you can just give them the most humiliating execution you want making unarmed most op melee, also if you hold a sidearm out and a player with low hp tackles you and if you get up and spam Y if you manage to get in a struggle your player will do a cool animation of hitting him with the gun while in the struggle, long arms dont work .you can also interrogate npcs by throwing them 2-3 times while having long arm equipped(when their scared make sure to put away longarm away or youll ragdoll them)If you have a white witness you wont even need a weapon to scare them but this is really old info as it got added with moonshiner dlc .can punch the shit out of npcs smashing their heads againts the walls twice you can also do it to player bounty's but a bit glitched, eta doyale would be the easiest to abuse. theres this new bug where you can go through doors by using cry emote but you can also go through thin walls lol.if you go to valentine and doctor store if you manage to glitch behind the black door you can find bitters tonic for sale free drinks and ammunition and you can find hair growth tonic cant pick it up even tough you werent suppos to be there theres things for sale.

I know a lot of players wish there were servers for only free-aim players. I personally enjoy lock on mode but do play free-aim once in awhile. I think free-aim users are more of the hardcore players where lock on mode seems to cater towards the causal players. It's all about having fun with friends in RDO. 😃

😃It is, nicely done. I'm surprised how many people got that reference. It's a good movie but not the best western I've ever seen. I always recommend the movie The Sisters Brothers to watch. My wife is not very big into watching westerns but loved this movie.
I love the sisters brothers too ! great modern western for sure. If you liked it and like modern social dramas, I'd recommend you watch "Un Prophete" by the same director, one of the best french movies of the last decade or so. It's very hardcore (not for children) but amazing. Also another underrated modern western imo is Hell or High Water, masterpiece.

Why every time I shoot someone I keep having to shoot to kill them but they always one shot me. I try to head shot but I always miss or it just goes to body shots
This could be because of a few reasons...
Always check the player you are fighting to see their ability cards. You can do this by clicking on the player list, select the player, and scroll down to see their cards. This will tell you if they run the ability cards like NEVER WITHOUT ONE which blocks one head shot while they're wearing a hat. Also the Deadeye card SLOW & STEADY blocks headshots too. Body shots do take longer to down a player especially if they're using defensive ability cards like IRON LUNG and FOOL ME ONCE.
It could also be that you're not landing your shots when aiming for the head. Even I miss my shots often so it's best to slow down your shots and make each shot count. Different guns have different recoil so always watch the bloom and wait till it shrinks around your target for more accuracy.
This takes practice and I always recommend playing Call To Arms to fight against NPC's. Once you can consistently land headshots against NPC's then try against players. Keep in mind higher level players practice this often to make it look easy. Even I was terrible at PvP when first starting out in Red Dead Online

I assume you've already unlocked and leveled up every role. Most of the pamphlets are unlocked from the roles. Back when R* still did outlaw passes they gave out some special pamphlets and this could have been one of them. I wish R* would bring these back for new players.

On PC to dominate PvP it seems all you have to do is get cheat mods. S**t is getting ridiculous there. Can barely even do free roam without one in the lobby.

Navy and Semi Auto in SnS is the best
😃I love the Navy's as well! I've only used the Auto shotgun a bit but lean towards the Pump only because it has a little more range to help stun at a farther distance. I'll have to try the Auto more often because a friend uses it a lot as well.

😃I've only used the semi pistols with PiB but hard to say no to my Navys. Have you ever tried the Volcanic Pistols? I highly recommend if you enjoy the Navy because they hold more ammo and have a little farther range. Down side of using the Volcanics are slower gun fire.
