@@tsfurlan I've seen possums my whole life and all they do is mind their own business. They look scary, I guess, but they're actually super sweet creatures who are also very beneficial when it comes to all sorts of pests. They're also super peaceful and sweet. Projecting them as some vicious species is simply not true lol
I'm one of those people, if you walk into one at night, but here they do look cute.

These are the prettiest little opossums I’ve ever seen.
I love them so much. I had a rescue and she was the sweetest little thing, watching them grow is amazing. When their ears start getting bigger and looking leathery 🥺❤️

That opossum in the back tells me they have the ability to grab the fruit with their hands and eat politely but refuse to do so. Love them so much.
Just goes to show you, these little animals have a life of their own, don't bother them and they won't necessarily bother you ! They are so cute, not a pet I would want but an animal that should get respect just for the cuteness to start with.

They are so cute. I rescued a baby one that was dehydrated and he or she was sweet i put her in. Box with blanket and gave her cat food. I didn't know they ate fruit then. She slept in our garage then wildlife animal protection picked her up and got her back to health and released her. We live in Florida

Since we're all sharing -- I had a possum in my garage (MA), fed it FRESH ORGANIC kiwis, grapes & scraps 👍 I read someplace they'll eat anything, the more rotten & putrid the better. Fun fact: they eat just like this when they grow up (no manners)😆 🤦🤷

I rescued a a baby. And boy, do they have sensitive diets. They need so much calcium. They get osteoporosis so easily. They need the chicken wing bone. Not a lot of protein. And some veggies. No carrots. But he was cool. Super chill. Just always up at night. Slept all day lol.
Same with hedgehogs. But they can also get an illness from too much calcium. It's hard to know where the balance is

Oh that is just too cute. I feed feral cats as well as do TNR for them and I noticed we have a possum which we named awesome that comes every night. I looked up what was appropriate to feed possums and found out that cat food shouldn't be a main staple of their diet so we put out some fruit and vegetable scraps as well as a little bit of dog kibble so that they get a varied diet I'm sure that the possums eating elsewhere as well because he is quite healthy looking

I love opossums. My husband and I had to catch and release some that had somehow ended up in my mom's basement. So cute 😍 Also, they will always be near the top of my wild animals list because they eat more ticks than any other forest critter (I've had Lyme disease before and wouldn't wish it on my enemy), and it's practically impossible for them to carry rabies because of their lower body temp. They aren't vicious and only show their scary teeth as a kind of last resort to avoid being attacked. Thank you for opening your mind to these cool dudes! 😎👍
Nocturnal animals that's why you see so many of them dead on the highways at night they become blinded by the headlights... they do not carry rabies because their blood/body temperatures do not allow the virus to live. Extremely cute babies that hang by their tails in the trees and ride on their mother's back... normally they won't bite you because they're playing dead I have tons of them around my house and when they get into some sort of trouble they play dead and I just remove them and release them right back into the woods of my home. And as others have said they eat an awful lot of ticks and other insects.

Adorable. Opossums get such a bad rap and they are so beneficial for the environment and North America's only marsupial. They are pretty special. Sadly only live 2 to 4 years. They do love grapes! I took care several at a wildlife rehab and they absolutely chowed down on the grapes. ❤❤❤❤❤

For generations, opossums have been living on my farm. Once a mother walked up to me with all her babies on her neck. So cute.
