I’ll never stop being vegan but it has costed me relationships with family and friends . People assume that you’ve changed and they feel threatened and they feel that you think you’re better than everyone else and because so many people know so little about this topic people are threatened by what they don’t understand. But seriously the social and psychological aspect is a huge topic of Discussion that no one is talking about obviously being vegan comes with challenges of finding places to eat and attending birthday parties for kids and other family get together’s, that’s all part of the experience, but no one prepares you for the social, isolation and other psychological aspects.

Melanie Joy has written some great books on the topic. I encourage you to check them out. I agree with you that it's a challenge. None of my family (including my husband) eat a plant-based diet. I've only started meeting a few people in real life who eat a vegan or WFPB diet. I'm thankful for online communities in the meanwhile. ❤️

Same for me. Now I try not to say anything about it around others. One if they ask about what I am eating do I say it cured all my health issues and leave it at that because everyone is addicted to SAD diets.

Coffee drains your adrenals and makes you tired. You may get a "high," then you go into a slump, so you keep repeating, thinking you're doing the right thing. Anything with coffee is not good for you.

Could you do a deep dive on dark chocolate. I love dark chocolate and eat a few squares every day. Now I’m hearing more about non dutched VS. dutched and which chocolate has higher heavy metals and which brands are higher in polyphenols. I believe it’s healthy if not eaten in excess and if people are craving a little something once in a while it would be good to know which brands are the healthiest.

I love this , long time fan of Gregor and you guys . My family and I live in Florida too. You guys asked good questions, I knew all of it already because I follow Gregors work extensively. One thing that always interests me is the psychological aspect of being vegan, that has been the hardest part for me and my family this whole time which is that you can’t get anyone to agree with you on this topic you have carnivores in the every day people and it’s like I get so much backlash from my own family that is actually ruin relationships with many people in my family over this diet topic. People don’t believe me when I say that talking about diet is just as serious as politics or religion if not more but I will say this being vegan although it’s great, makes you feel very isolated and alone socially and I’ve tried to find friends through social media but it’s very difficult to meet people like you guys. I’ve asked this before on your videos and other vegan videos and can’t seem to get any real good advice to help with this anything you could also would be fantastic. Thanks.

Hang in there. More people are getting interested in plant based eating. I think it’s important not to make meat eaters defensive. I try to just share some of my delicious food, to tell people the health benefits l am experiencing and to let them know about good movies like The game changers. I live in MA which is shifting slowly. Maybe it is harder in Florida. But l find people are more I interested when l stay positive and matter of fact. Good Luck, eventually more and more people will be vegan.

I’ve been talking about this for years!
I renounced the label vegan and hate the word veganism!
We’re not vegans, they are carnists.
We’re animal rights advocates. No other justice movement labels the people who took a stand against the injustice. They label the people supporting it, as in sexists, racists and homophobes.
We’re just normal people who aligned our actions with our values. If we are to normalize this behaviour we have to drop the label and start labelling the people who support animal abuse.

so I’m 1000% convinced there’s no way carnivore can be healthy, I believe it can result in weight loss short term, but it’s not healthy. I hear that most people can’t handle doing it long term (which they shouldn’t) and when they go back to eating normal not only are they binge eating and gaining back the weight but also it’s hard for them to digest healthy food, it reminds me of trying a drug, having it “work”, experiencing the side effects, having to stop and then going off it and wishing you could just go back to how you felt before trying it, I just, nothing can convince me it’s actually healthy long term, we’re simply not carnivores

    • @Caroline-ph8zo

I agree! We are also not herbivores. The same can happen after not eating animal foods. You loose the ability to digest them properly.

I literally never comment online, but felt called to because the diet rhetoric health conscious people are bombarded with online is maddening. In my passionate opinion, we all need to see things in a more balanced light. I never said animal foods are necessary. You do you!💗
Hypochlorydia is common among long term vegans who decide to switch to an omnivorous diet again. A lot of people have to go slow with reintroduction just like carnivores would with plants because of all of those beneficial fibers their bodies aren't used to handling.
Look into it if you actually care, but like I said...you do you!💗 I wasn't trying to play devil's advocate.

You said something important. "nothing can convince me"
Why are you even talking about it if you know that nothing can convince you.

The title of this book has such a negative conentation....aging is a privilege, it's impossible NOT to age and shouldn't be something we work towards trying to do! Really silly to promote the idea of trying to do so.

You are taking it too seriously. Of course we are all aging but I think it’s his way of saying “aging healthfully” and adding quality of life.

I never heard him say once that we shouldn't be aging or that we need to try to reverse aging.. He is simply trying to give us some suggestions based on his knowledge as to what could help with this process that is inevitable .

It's just a play on words. I would suggest that you look into why this is triggering you? Is there something in you that needs to be healed regarding this?
