raiden shotgun is basically the only one i go to bc of her **reliability**--she always gives info from trustworthy leakers and if theyre not, she always specifies that. i.e., (not a direct quote js paraphrasing) "keep in mind that this is only speculation and not exactly from a credible source, and is subject to change." also, i find that her primogem count is often more in line with how i grind and play the game, bc im not a 36 star full imaginarium theatre kinda player. ofc i agree w you, players can fall into the trap of pre farming for characters that havent been confirmed yet, but i also think its important to put responsibility on the players that look for these leaks as well. its not entirely these channels' fault that people dont heed their warnings and act like what they say is true.

I hate how they are always trying to raise false hopes. For example, when a character hasn't had rerun in a long time, they're always saying "yes, next version will indeed get rerun", and when doesn't, they're back to "well, this time the next version will!" and so on and on until he gets it right for about the tenth time.
Getting hit while "teleporting" or just having excessive velocity for characters like chiori, gaming, alhaitham, keqing can cause velocity multiplication causing yeeting into the air or just direction of the movement It's really annoying when it happens to gaming in the abyss for me because you can't plunge out of it just need to fall to the ground
Leak channels are so repetitive, it’s very rare that some are reliable and it’s better to go to the leakers themselves. Some leak channels will try and get your hopes up by saying “this character will be playable in the near future” without info from any reliable leakers. Not to mention I also dislike how so many promote 3rd party top up shops for Genshin that can get you banned or have your Genshin account In debt.

They literally explained how all of what they are saying is based on leaks only and says stuff like "Take this with a grain of salt". It's not their fault that people believed it right away when they explained that the banners aren't accurately true and that it can change. Anyways, there are also a lot of people that predicted the banners accurately.

I've noticed that too, and I'm going to use the opportunity to encourage anyone to not use Lootbar or services like them unless they're willing to risk getting their account banned to save a few bucks. Hoyoverse and Codashop are the only legitimate sources of genesis crystals and their prices are what they always have been. If somebody is selling them for less, it's because they are buying them through Codashop and sell them for less, which only makes sense when they are laundering money or doing some other shady shit. Don't get involved. If the crystals you get were bought with a stolen credit card and the real owners dos a charge-back, it's your account that will bet banned as per Genshins TOS, and you certainly won't get your money back from Lootbar either.

So many times I've seen these channels posts leaks that have already been disproven. Once saw one of them post "5.2 banner leaks" that still said the event was Dragonspine and Wanderer would rerun, and recently they are still saying Madam Ping will be in 5.3 despite her not being in the drip marketing.

6:35 Homdgcat isn’t exactly a leaker perse, they’re not necessarily some person with inside info, but they seem to be a dataminer, since they’ve frequently commented on internal file changes in both Genshin and HSR. Usually for Genshin if a character gets their trial changed, it’s a sign that they’re rerunning, which is how Homdgcat is often reliable about the 4*s rerunning. Obviously being a dataminer rather than an insider means that they might not know as much about the future, since files aren’t always put into the game wayy in advance, but it does mean that they are at a comparatively lower risk of being “found out” or shut down by Hoyo, since they’re not breaking any NDAs Most of those other sources (Seele Leaks) are also not actual leakers/insiders, but people who compile leaks that look more legitimate and think for themselves on whether they’re reliable, which is why they’ll occasionally say that something seems unreliable
My take: Same with Pokemon leaks, while I might watch them, it doesn't mean I have to believe in them. While I do watch these Genshin leaks, I don't really believe them. While they keep teasing about Capitano and I really like him, im still pessimistic enough to think he maybe will not even be playable and thats why I will not farm anything for him before official announcement.

i like checking banner leaks because i have a “wishlist” of characters i want to get so that i can save resources accordingly. but i only start believing banner leaks when it’s been a couple of days into the next version’s beta and i see all the usual channels post the same EXACT lineup of 5* characters (and when it’s legit they usually post around the same time, within an hour or 2 of each other because it’s hot news). i now always know the banner lineup weeks before the special program which is a big help in how i spend my resin daily and how much primos i need to farm. the channel i personally trust the most is Raiden Shotgun, and they do include disclaimers in every video. that’s been my method since this year and it hasn’t failed me yet, and i think saving resources 5 weeks before your awaited character is enough time (i never pre-farm before that 5-week window). i also don’t follow any type of banner roadmap like 5.4-5.8 since those predictions are unrealistic and borderline ridiculous.
Shotgun say that these predictions are predicted and not real just stuff but she only gets her info from tnis banner to that banner(like she says stuff like chori nahida hu tao and xiloen wikll be in)and thats her only reliable predictions
Well, they’re all just speculations really. The channel is often look at (Raiden Shotgun) actually usess disclaimers saying that the information may be false and give their personal statement on the information at times. And quite a few times now, they’ve been correct and I’ve prepared early and gotten some of my favourite characters. Its just a lot of these channels use the same sources so it’s repetitive, but spreads the info fast
I only ever get leak infor from the subreddit. I've seen a ton of leak channels overinflate changes, misinform people on patch notes and give out wrong info.
theres no downside to prefarming. you have all the materials in advance, all you need is the character and you can have fun. its not a waste unless you lose materials. It be more wasteful is you capped your resin instead of farming books or boss mats.
no the problem is that not everyone wants to wait decades for characters and would pull some other character instead. until the character drops your primos might be gone because of other fun characters you pulled and then you have no use for all that prefarmed stuff. for people that are patient and can spend money on the game to get all characters they want there is no downside but to f2p that want multiple characters, this is a big loss when they cant afford that character until it comes out and they could have used all that resin for other characters
I can't help but wonder if Hoyo themselves might secretly be behind some of these channels, purposely putting out misinformation in an effort to deceive and discredit those who have put out reliable leaks in the past. They can also farm the comment sections for information about the demand of characters and then make the most profitable character lineups based off of this info.

Or as if pre farmed materials can’t be used for other characters or be useful once the character comes around again. I have everything for Shenhe for almost a full year by now. However, these are general TH-cam issues, not specific to this topic. If you keep clicking on clickbait content even though you know it’s clickbait and dislike it, that’s more of a personal problem. Another question to consider: what resources are you actually losing by pre-farming for a character? Are you using your fragile resin to pre-farm even though you have at least six weeks, if not more, to gather the necessary materials? And what about time? If you're watching such content, you’re at least somewhat interested or entertained by it. Do you complain about losing time whenever you watch something mediocre or bad on other platforms? It’s just like any other show that turns out disappointing-you move on.Or do you lose time pre farming resources? Resources are rarely just for one character or they save you time when the character does run. As for your point about selling data: I don’t use those Genesis Crystal services, as I don’t spend money on Genshin Impact. However, you are literally on a platform that exploits your data and collaborates with companies that sell it. I hope you’re not using X, Facebook, or bought anything using paypal
What is also worse is 1 of them I saw was advertising a boosting service. Those type of services are against the rules and can get you banned. So it isn't just fake leaks they are covering.
Thanks for making this really helpful video! I always doubted the reliability of those leakers…now everything is clear for me. The explanation of when the beta for new patches starts helped a lot! Fun fact: I have been watching some leaks to see when Xianyun will rerun (I got her C0 and really want some of her Constellations) but I quickly realized how often she got thrown around in 5.3 and so on…it was frustrating haha. I‘m just saving for her, in my opinion she‘s the most fun character in the game! (got 320 wishes for her rn)

Most of these channels just get their info from the leaks subreddit. I personally have no problems with them as long as they're upfront with their sources and the reliability of the leaks. The problematic ones are the channels that use obnoxious clickbait titles and thumbnails, and present their information as if they are the actual leakers/dataminers.
I watch teyvat times and arlechino channel. I dont mind the predictions being wrong, they say take it with a grain of salt and i already know which leakers are trustworthy and which are not. I dont prefarm or anything, I just like watching predictions lol so doesnt matter if they're wrong. Plus I noticed at least these two share a lot of their personal guesses, such as they keep saying is likely shenhe and wrio will be feature in almost every single patch, because indeed bro when are they getting featured again lol Only thing thats unnerving is the AI voices 😭😭
Tbh some of those AI voice channels actually are reliable, maybe Raiden Shotgun is one if them. There’s just the problem that there are many channels around that aren’t trustworthy
I'll add that in general, only give any thought to leaks related to the banner of the next patch, and 'leaks' related to later patches should be dismissed out of hand. In turn, only pre-farm for characters who you can be confident will be in the next patch and not for later patches. As an early Genshin player, been playing since 1.1 in November 2020, we used to have some real nonsense in the 1.x days of 'leakers' supposedly 'confirming' Dainsleif's kit or a Signora banner.
I meant the xianyun thing was pretty understandable since everyone expected lantern rite to be in 5.3. if not 5.3 then 5.4 so just a difference of one patch, it's still a good prediction. leaks are meant to be taken as just a guideline and they've been good enough for me since I can remember.

Well for me, I've never been disappointed by Raitden Shotgun's "banner leaks" or banner predictions cuz I know how to evaluate the information. So yeah those channels were really, really helpful for me and always been for the past few years. So I don't think it should be stopped, Instead I think people should atleast know to not take predictions as an accurate information. I usually wait 10 days before the official Livestream cuz in my experience, around 10 days before Livestream, those banner predictions turned out to be accurate. So just wait for Livestream cuz the close it is to the official Livestream those more likely it is to be true or just simply wait for the official announcement XD It all comes down to Pros and Cons of those channels for each person I think.
Its even worse when you realize that every leak channel is parroting what the other channels are saying without doing any research of their own. This is exactly why I haven't been uploading any leaked banner videos in a while, they perform really well but are VERY subject to change. Even though my track record on reporting leaks is decent (definitely not perfect) I'd still rather wait till something comes from Seele Leaks or HomDGCat before reporting on it. If you want to get this info yourself go to the GenshinLeaks subreddit. Its where I and every other genshin channel gets their leaks from including gameplay footage and screenshots. Information that is not from reliable sources or seem too good to be true are usually labeled as SUS in the titles so you know which ones you can basically ignore.
I like watching genuine leaks so i can be prepared for what's to come and know if i should farm anything or schedule my time, but so many are just ridiculous like the reruns or more Fatui or random NPCs becoming playable, idk who would believe that.

Is it just me or does most of these channels are always sponsored by Lootbar? I have a theory, they are run by the company and the whole point of these channels is to sponsor Lootbar and they use Genshin leaks to get people’s attention
I've noticed that too, and I'm going to use the opportunity to encourage anyone to not use Lootbar or services like them unless they're willing to risk getting their account banned to save a few bucks. Hoyoverse and Codashop are the only legitimate sources of genesis crystals and their prices are what they always have been. If somebody is selling them for less, it's because they are buying them through Codashop and sell them for less, which only makes sense when they are laundering money or doing some other shady shit. Don't get involved. If the crystals you get were bought with a stolen credit card and the real owners dos a charge-back, it's your account that will bet banned as per Genshins TOS, and you certainly won't get your money back from Lootbar either.

So many times I've seen these channels posts leaks that have already been disproven. Once saw one of them post "5.2 banner leaks" that still said the event was Dragonspine and Wanderer would rerun, and recently they are still saying Madam Ping will be in 5.3 despite her not being in the drip marketing.

6:35 Homdgcat isn’t exactly a leaker perse, they’re not necessarily some person with inside info, but they seem to be a dataminer, since they’ve frequently commented on internal file changes in both Genshin and HSR. Usually for Genshin if a character gets their trial changed, it’s a sign that they’re rerunning, which is how Homdgcat is often reliable about the 4*s rerunning. Obviously being a dataminer rather than an insider means that they might not know as much about the future, since files aren’t always put into the game wayy in advance, but it does mean that they are at a comparatively lower risk of being “found out” or shut down by Hoyo, since they’re not breaking any NDAs
Most of those other sources (Seele Leaks) are also not actual leakers/insiders, but people who compile leaks that look more legitimate and think for themselves on whether they’re reliable, which is why they’ll occasionally say that something seems unreliable
My take: Same with Pokemon leaks, while I might watch them, it doesn't mean I have to believe in them. While I do watch these Genshin leaks, I don't really believe them. While they keep teasing about Capitano and I really like him, im still pessimistic enough to think he maybe will not even be playable and thats why I will not farm anything for him before official announcement.

i like checking banner leaks because i have a “wishlist” of characters i want to get so that i can save resources accordingly. but i only start believing banner leaks when it’s been a couple of days into the next version’s beta and i see all the usual channels post the same EXACT lineup of 5* characters (and when it’s legit they usually post around the same time, within an hour or 2 of each other because it’s hot news). i now always know the banner lineup weeks before the special program which is a big help in how i spend my resin daily and how much primos i need to farm.
the channel i personally trust the most is Raiden Shotgun, and they do include disclaimers in every video. that’s been my method since this year and it hasn’t failed me yet, and i think saving resources 5 weeks before your awaited character is enough time (i never pre-farm before that 5-week window). i also don’t follow any type of banner roadmap like 5.4-5.8 since those predictions are unrealistic and borderline ridiculous.
But keep this in mind though some channel leakers do say that these are just speculation and leaks and take it like a grain of salt
also they say alot about placeholders and future regions, like the next region or islands such as mare jivari
Shotgun say that these predictions are predicted and not real just stuff but she only gets her info from tnis banner to that banner(like she says stuff like chori nahida hu tao and xiloen wikll be in)and thats her only reliable predictions

Well, they’re all just speculations really. The channel is often look at (Raiden Shotgun) actually usess disclaimers saying that the information may be false and give their personal statement on the information at times. And quite a few times now, they’ve been correct and I’ve prepared early and gotten some of my favourite characters. Its just a lot of these channels use the same sources so it’s repetitive, but spreads the info fast

I only ever get leak infor from the subreddit. I've seen a ton of leak channels overinflate changes, misinform people on patch notes and give out wrong info.

theres no downside to prefarming. you have all the materials in advance, all you need is the character and you can have fun. its not a waste unless you lose materials. It be more wasteful is you capped your resin instead of farming books or boss mats.
no the problem is that not everyone wants to wait decades for characters and would pull some other character instead. until the character drops your primos might be gone because of other fun characters you pulled and then you have no use for all that prefarmed stuff. for people that are patient and can spend money on the game to get all characters they want there is no downside but to f2p that want multiple characters, this is a big loss when they cant afford that character until it comes out and they could have used all that resin for other characters
I can't help but wonder if Hoyo themselves might secretly be behind some of these channels, purposely putting out misinformation in an effort to deceive and discredit those who have put out reliable leaks in the past. They can also farm the comment sections for information about the demand of characters and then make the most profitable character lineups based off of this info.

However, these are general TH-cam issues, not specific to this topic. If you keep clicking on clickbait content even though you know it’s clickbait and dislike it, that’s more of a personal problem.
Another question to consider: what resources are you actually losing by pre-farming for a character? Are you using your fragile resin to pre-farm even though you have at least six weeks, if not more, to gather the necessary materials? And what about time? If you're watching such content, you’re at least somewhat interested or entertained by it. Do you complain about losing time whenever you watch something mediocre or bad on other platforms? It’s just like any other show that turns out disappointing-you move on.Or do you lose time pre farming resources? Resources are rarely just for one character or they save you time when the character does run.
As for your point about selling data: I don’t use those Genesis Crystal services, as I don’t spend money on Genshin Impact. However, you are literally on a platform that exploits your data and collaborates with companies that sell it. I hope you’re not using X, Facebook, or bought anything using paypal

Fun fact: I have been watching some leaks to see when Xianyun will rerun (I got her C0 and really want some of her Constellations) but I quickly realized how often she got thrown around in 5.3 and so on…it was frustrating haha. I‘m just saving for her, in my opinion she‘s the most fun character in the game! (got 320 wishes for her rn)

Most of these channels just get their info from the leaks subreddit. I personally have no problems with them as long as they're upfront with their sources and the reliability of the leaks. The problematic ones are the channels that use obnoxious clickbait titles and thumbnails, and present their information as if they are the actual leakers/dataminers.

I'll add that in general, only give any thought to leaks related to the banner of the next patch, and 'leaks' related to later patches should be dismissed out of hand. In turn, only pre-farm for characters who you can be confident will be in the next patch and not for later patches.
As an early Genshin player, been playing since 1.1 in November 2020, we used to have some real nonsense in the 1.x days of 'leakers' supposedly 'confirming' Dainsleif's kit or a Signora banner.

I meant the xianyun thing was pretty understandable since everyone expected lantern rite to be in 5.3. if not 5.3 then 5.4 so just a difference of one patch, it's still a good prediction. leaks are meant to be taken as just a guideline and they've been good enough for me since I can remember.

Thank you for this video. It really has to be outspoken. Also the AI voice is mostly the same they're using. It's sad for those players who really believe in them and are excited so that they're grinding for materials.
Well for me, I've never been disappointed by Raitden Shotgun's "banner leaks" or banner predictions cuz I know how to evaluate the information. So yeah those channels were really, really helpful for me and always been for the past few years. So I don't think it should be stopped, Instead I think people should atleast know to not take predictions as an accurate information. I usually wait 10 days before the official Livestream cuz in my experience, around 10 days before Livestream, those banner predictions turned out to be accurate. So just wait for Livestream cuz the close it is to the official Livestream those more likely it is to be true or just simply wait for the official announcement XD
It all comes down to Pros and Cons of those channels for each person I think.
Its even worse when you realize that every leak channel is parroting what the other channels are saying without doing any research of their own. This is exactly why I haven't been uploading any leaked banner videos in a while, they perform really well but are VERY subject to change. Even though my track record on reporting leaks is decent (definitely not perfect) I'd still rather wait till something comes from Seele Leaks or HomDGCat before reporting on it. If you want to get this info yourself go to the GenshinLeaks subreddit. Its where I and every other genshin channel gets their leaks from including gameplay footage and screenshots. Information that is not from reliable sources or seem too good to be true are usually labeled as SUS in the titles so you know which ones you can basically ignore.
I like watching genuine leaks so i can be prepared for what's to come and know if i should farm anything or schedule my time, but so many are just ridiculous like the reruns or more Fatui or random NPCs becoming playable, idk who would believe that.
