- In this video I disable AFM with the diablo sport predator tuner for my 08 Silverado. I do not talk in this video because I wasn’t going to post but I decided to just in case it helps anybody. If you have any questions, please comment and I will answer as soon as I can.

Can this delete the rear o2 readings it says it can does it have to be a custom tune or does it have a feature also in a base tune perhaps
Just turned off AFM on my Tahoe, I noticed that my outside temp is now at 32 degrees(its 59° out), wonder how long it'll take to calibrate back to Normal? Manual says to return back to stock file before dealer service, just in case mechanic does an update and locks you out of diablo tuner.
Did it work? Have you had to do anything else to it?

2017 yes you have to spend $40 to update

Do you have to leave it installed to the OBD2 port? Or can you take it out once it's finished tuning and remove it?

Did you buy the tuner by itself?
Is this a one vehicle use device or can you use it on multiple vehicles? I have a few vehicles with the AFM DOD crap. Would love to delete all of them. I have a speed calibration device that I had for my personal truck when I put bigger tires on it but it is a one time use device so I was wondering if this was.
The device “marries” to one vehicle, only letting you use it to that single vehicle. Technically you could use it for multiple vehicles but you would have to pay around 50$ to get it un-married or unlocked to use it on another vehicle and I’m not familiar with that whole process.
Can you comment the model you are using or a link to purchase one?

So pretty much you plug in tune and that’s it? I have a range plug in disabler which makes me think causes my weird data connection issues lookibn for a simple tune out for the afm
Yes, you just plug it in and tune. I was thinking about getting the range disabler but I didn’t like that it had to stay in the obd2 port the whole time. This tuner has a lot of other functions too, it’s also a code scanner. Well worth the price
Ok last question I seen you also did the 87 octane. What did that cover like what did that change? I just ordered one
Does this still trip the check engine light for v4 failing to activate. Not talking about the lifters im talking about the trouble codes associated with v4 mode not engaging... p3401,p3425,p3441,p3449...
My v4 mode has been off for 2 years now and never got a check engine light

I'm getting ready to do a full delete kit in my 13 Silverado have you had any complications or issues since doing the delete?
this delete is just a tune delete, the AFM system is still in the engine and could still possibly fail even after being disabled by the tuner. I haven’t had any troubles with it though and it makes my truck run so much better

Will this work if a lifter is already collapsed
No, once it’s collapsed the only way to fix it is by replacing it with a new lifter. The job is very involving but luckily these engines are some of the easiest to work on.
Did you have to update the tuner by connecting it to a pc before you could do the delete?
Bekah Shults sorry for late reply. No I did not plug it into pc to update.
So if the camshaft and lifters were replaced with non AFM parts and this disable was done the computer would not throw any codes?
I believe so. The tune disables the AFM system completely, so the system shouldn’t throw any codes since it’s not even active to sense any issues.
Does this disable the afm trouble codes?
No the AFM system can still fail since the physical parts are still in the engine, which will throw a code. a true AFM delete would be new lifters and a new cam shaft
@ab-cq1kg I am having to do this process currently. I bought a 2010 Silverado with 121,000 miles on it and literally 30 days to the day after buying it I had a collapsed lifter. I bought the whole delete kit that comes with the Diablo tuner from AMS racing. The only thing I have left to do now is the small stuff, get harmonic balancer back on, water pump, alternator, radiator, fans and finish plugging everything back in. GM needs those AFM/DOD lifters shoved up their asses.😂😂 They are problematic and only save 2-5% on over all gas milage. I've even heard some people say their fuel economy got better after the delete. Hope everything is still running well with yours. I know I'm ready to have a running vehicle again. Thanks for the tutorial bro!

Yes, it can be used as a regular code scanner
does this tuner need to be programed or can u use it straight out of the box ?

@@bobk3686 yes definitely, best investment for the newer 5.3 engines with AFM. It even lowered my oil consumption levels
