- They actually did it. The mad lads actually did it, they actually showed the All In footage. Last nights AEW Dynamite was one of the most talked about episodes in a long time and it’s for all the wrong reasons and it’s safe to say that it did NOT get the intended reaction. I’m here to throw my 2 cents in and discuss all the drama surrounding last nights AEW dynamite. There’s also some other AEW drama with guys leaving the company which I was gonna discuss in this video but after last night we just need to focus on that. I was there in the crowd for Dynamite last night. This whole thing felt so awkward. We started doing the CM punk chant as nervous, comic relief, and I had two friends who had never been to an AEW event come with me, and I spent the 2 hour drive back apologizing and promising that it’s not usually like this.
Was the crowd dead silent after that segment?

First mistake is thinking they can turn this into a story with FTR. Second mistake is giving the bucks a chance to cut one of their run of the mill, badly acted promos. Third mistake, TK being in charge.
I hate to give the Bucks the benefit of the doubt but I'm leaning on that third mistake being the first. I feel like he really wanted this out there, for whatever reason and the Bucks just tried to do something, anything, with it.

Not only did he cuss out Tony schiavone and the head of medical, he then immediately afterward disrespected Billy Gunn in an interview when asked if Billy Gunn was one of the veterans Perry took advice from saying “I don’t take advice from old men who don’t like Canadian destroyers.” Billy Gunn is a legend and a producer in the company and he s**ts on him in an interview. Jack Perry is in the wrong for a multitude of reasons. He was told not to do this by Tony schiavone AND the head of medical and he threw a tantrum and cussed them out. Tony went to cm punk for help because punk was the head Booker for collision. Punk told Perry if you wanna use real glass do it on dynamite. I don’t want it on my show. All you’re gonna do is hurt yourself, your partner who you do the stunt with, and you’ll p**s off the car rental company and make it harder for the other guys to rent cars in the future. Perry says ok and says he won’t do it. Then at wembly, at the biggest show they ever had he looks into the camera and calls punk out specifically “real glass, cry me a river” and when punk walks up to him and asks “dude what was this about, you said you weren’t gonna do this.” He tells him “yeah? Do something about it.” and punk did something about it. There is no line to be examined. There is no ambiguity. Jack Perry called punk out TWICE and punk reciprocated. End of story.
Not to mention, this is the second week in a row they spent valuable tv time to address this CM Punk shit and take shots at WWE. Literally all this wasted TV time coulda been put to 2 separate women's matches

This is the absolute worst case scenario for AEW. The video showed everyone that Punk was telling the truth about his fight with Jack. Why doubt anything else that he said during that interview? Great job Tony. You just drove the Titanic directly into the iceberg.

This turned me off from AEW. They really need to fix this petty behavior and it starts with Tony Khan. Heck, he wasn't even in the immediate vicinity and he said he felt like his life was in danger when there were multiple other wrestlers around. Just a complete joke.
To be fair, we don't know if this is the "fear for his life" moment. If it is, then it's pretty pathetic at the reaction to this (even if it was Punk's fault)
I don't think Tony understands the reality of the business. Vince McMahon dealt with getting spit on by Bret and a belt thrown at him by Brock. I couldn't imagine what Tony would do in those situations.

I miss early AEW when it had fun stories and bits like the early dark order stuff, the stadium stampedes, MJF turning on Cody and so on. Now it is wrestler A is going to wrestle against wrestler B because it's a dream match and will give meltzer a chubby... or it was a story from a previous promotion that we are all just supposed to know about. Just like Punk said, AEW will always be around as long as Tony keeps putting money into it. AEW is not literally “dying” as they still have their core fans and Tony’s checkbook but from this moment on they cemented themselves as a big budget indy-minded mid tier niche promotion instead of the major competitor we were promised in its inception.
A thoughtful, unbiased and, at least from my looking at the different sides of this ongoing incident, informed response. Great stuff.

There are rumours going around that the reason AEW is sending out copyright claims over the footage is not because they are claiming ownership of it, but because they may very well have broken UK Data Protection laws (as confirmed by Stephen P New) because in the UK (where AEW has a TV deal) you are not allowed to just randomly show CCTV footage to the masses without justifiable reason (and no, Tony being upset at Punk over a podcast is not a reason).
Anyone seen on the footage could sue Tony because you are definitely not allowed to show peoples faces from CCTV without permission.
All Tony had to say in response to Punk's comments were:-
"I don't care what a guy who no longer for us says. He isn't my problem anymore".
"Instead, I want to talk about the exciting talent we do have in AEW and about our big show coming up".
Redirect the conversation back onto building up your company.
Matt, Nick, and TK deserve each other. The rest of us deserve and have for a long time deserved an AEW without these three clowns.

What pisses me out the most was Tony Khan couldn't grow a pair and face this shenanigan head on.

I mean, this is supposed to be personal but Khan dragged people who work for him to get involved.

Do I think this incident will kill AEW? No, provided that Tony Khan learns something from this mess of his own creation. CM Phil played Tony like a fiddle as evident with Khan's decision to respond in this manner. He proved Phil right and whether he realizes it or not and made himself look like a colossal SISSY when he said all that garbage about fearing for his life based on that footage. No good will come from continuing to let Punk live rent free in his head. Tony Khan just gave AEW another black eye on top of the slowly healing eye the fiasco last year gave the company.

The AEW after the punk fall out was in Buffalo, I was there. The crowd went so loud when they announced he wasn’t champ anymore. Decent show but the tone was different for the rest of the night.

I don't care what anyone says, that segment was super entertaining and did a great job at building toward their feud with FTR. It got nuclear heat outside of the AEW fanbase and the fans on the inside are laughing at everyone going insane over it. Also, Jack Perry just got heavy cheers in Chicago with NJPW and damn that entrance was amazing. There were definitely Punk chants but I wasn't expecting anyone to cheer him. Shows that they are really on to something with the Scapegoat gimmick. I am super excited to see Jack back in AEW.
I've said it before & I'll say it again - despite what low reading comprehension Zoomers & Zillennials think, I DON'T hate AEW. I want them to thrive. I want them to IMPROVE and stop being so desperate for online clout that they forget about actual viewers/wrestling fans in general.
This moment just cemented that they not only never will change, they're probably only going to go downhill MORE. It's extremely sad, cuz WWE needs actual competition that they provided and a lot of talented people are on AEW that deserve better. But they just don't seem to see anything wrong with being such a hot mess.
