In just an instant a wrestler can go from being a star on the rise to nobody, and while most of the time that’s down to the booker, there are times where wrestlers are the ones who are entirely responsible for the death of their own careers. Mr. Kennedy should’ve definitely been a huge star in WWE. He was charismatic, cut a good promo and solid in the ring. Pretty much everything to become a World Champion
He was on his way to Superstarom in the WWE and then all that drama happened in 2007 killed his push. Then he went to TNA got off to work super hot start and then he got completely lost in the shuffle.
Yeah I thought for sure he would be a future world champion. Then he disappeared. I wondered what happened, but I didn't hear the steroids were the main issue. Vince was willing to forgive him for that (since Vince did them himself at one point). It's when he got reckless with an attitude.

It is a Champion's job to be a model representative of your company or else the company suffers. For Example: Kerry Von Erich lost his only World Title when he started showing up late and sometimes not in condition. Verne Gagne was notorious for holding onto his AWA Titles and trying to take part of wrestlers' pay from outside ventures and in the end no one wanted to work for him.
Imagine freaking up your career just because you legitimately armbar your opponent and dont want to let go for several seconds and then you been replaced by a diffrent person with your same gimmick
Not just that. She also had to be dragged to the locker room by Vampiro to apologize, which she did but obviously didn't mean. Was the only time Rosemary publicly broke character at the time
It wasn't just locking in an armbar, she tried to injure her potentially ruining her career.

Mr. Kennedy didn't kill his career, bro was just unlucky and in bad circumstances. Someone who did, is the likes of 'notable prick' ADR and Austin Aries, just to name a few.
Injuries and bad circumstances ruined Kennedy
Kennedy has even said when he went back and talked to Orton after the match Orton said something to the effect of "don't worry about it", and much later after being fired he went back and watched the match and Orton didn't land badly, he landed on his back like normally(of which I agree after watching the match and going frame by frame).
Orton just played backstage politics and got him canned for his own enjoyment, which is shitty to do to someone who's, at the time, your friend.

Jordan Miles was a rising star in NXT back in 2019 and then he quits wrestling all together because of his logo on a t-shirt that he thinks it resembled blackface and he blamed WWE for being racist.

Tessa Blanchard!! OMG!! She had so much potential. She had it all. She had the promo and she had the skills. Unbelievable that she is literally blackballed because of her attitude. She to me is one of the most unique cases of someone who had it all The next closest one has to be Teddy Hart for me

@@thesprock5270 Not a whole lot. He teamed with James Storm for a bit, but never seemed to be grasping for the top spot, which I'm sure Billy would've given to him if he had shown any initiative. He certainly did with every other WWE castoff eventually. Unless OP is hinting at something else, it just didn't seem like Ken was there for anything more than a paycheck and those ran out fast.
@@ItDoesntMatterReallyNo, Ken was teamed with Colt Cabana... Eli Drake had a feud with him. He no-showed the 2nd PPV, and that was the end of Mr. Anderson in NWA.

Mr. Kennedy didn't botch anything though. You can watch that match yourself. Randy just didn't like the guy and did his usual backstage screw job. Randy over rotated and landed on his own shoulder. So you can't say that he killed his own career. Plus his TNA run was solid.
Agreed. Liked Anderson's TNA run much better. Especially after he ditched the reverb bit and started playing a more organic character. That shtick got old quickly and he held onto it way too long. Much preferred the storylines he did in TNA after he got to be just Ken rather than some master gimmick mimic. Especially the character arc with Samuel Shaw. That stuff felt so much more believable and relatable than some dude trying to throw everybody's acts in a blender and becoming a star playing with the slurry.
SexyStar had no excuse, no reason for doing what she did. She tried to say "oh i was having a bad day/mental issues". Then why did you even show up to wrestle that day?
Years later i still feel bad for Rory, he should not have been fired because Robbie showed up in TNA.

WWE was run by children (namely Vince), now you can show up in other companies to watch shows and support your friends. Cause WWE isn't a boys club anymore.
I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this is a stipulation in WWE contracts that says you can't go to other promotions. What happened at TNA with them show him there was probably on of the reasons.
Also wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was really in the end an excuse to fire them because WWE gave up on them and was looking for one.
They just did an interview here on youtube with The LAW live audio wrestling where they talk about all of this in detail.
@@ShadowJL It's probably something to do with WWE owning their likeness. There have been times WWE wrestlers were at TNA or AEW shows wearing masks or other disguises, and you could tell it was them because of visible tattoos or they showed their disguises on Instagram or something, but nobody got in trouble for it. It happened just a week or two ago with Bayley & Naomi going to AEW's Big Business show.

Honorable mention: Enzo and Cass. It's quite notable when WWE did not say "future endeavors" when their separate release statements was announced publicly.
Enzo Amore can cut a promo, but the big problem is that he can never shut his mouth, and often broke protocol with his actions, which was what led to the infamous "Roman Reigns booting him off the bus" story. Even though his SA charges have been dropped, the fact that he did not tell WWE he was being investigated was the straw that broke the camel's back. As of now, Enzo is still active in the indie circles, but no big name wrestling company has given him a full time deal yet.
As for Big Cass, his size and stature should make him practically untouchable if he behaved himself, but that was exactly what led to his release. Even though Cass has said he felt depressed and had an alcohol addiction, it still did not excuse him from disobeying Vince McMahon's direct orders with the midget angle, which is a major no-no when Vince was still the boss of the company. Unlike Enzo, Cass was able to resurrect his career with TNA, and is now in AEW under the name "Big Bill".
That “he didn’t tell WWE” story is such BS. He didn’t even know that he was being investigated besides, WWE would’ve fired him anyway

It was a bullshit reason but also one he couldn't take them to court over.
There is a rumor that what actually got Enzo fired was that after a talk he had with Vince at HQ, he started bragging that he was untouchable as he was leaving the building. Someone heard and told Vince about it, thus leading to Enzo getting fired.

Same, there have been so many stories about why would like to know what lead to her not letting go of the armbar?
From what I can gather, Lady Shani and Ayako had heat with Sexy Star over what happened with Taya Valkyrie. Rosemary was added into that match to mitigate the heat and if you watch the match you can see Shani and Ayako being rough and stiff with Star. Perhaps Star assumed Rosemary was involved or Star decided to take it out on her. Either way, Star was in the wrong, you don't purposefully hurt other wrestlers.
I heard she thought Rosemary was somebody else. Basically it was mistaken identity. That's what I remember hearing at the time
Either way she did it and now she payed the price she knew what she was doing and poor rosemary man she didn't need that

Mr Kennedy to me was mid card talent personally honestly I would have loved to see Mr Kennedy as WWE United States Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion even more so than Carlito.
If I had to place him as any World Champion it would have been through the revamped ECW brand and maybe having it built around him he has that Shane Douglas vibe.
Robbie wrestles a lot in the indie scene where I live. I have been to a ton of shows he was on and he's a really great guy. He sucks TNA did that to him.

I don't think it's so much them being at the event, versus them being an active wrestler appearing on camera at another major promotion. Pre-HHH era, Vince would have your head for this. Especially if you didn't get his blessing. You could be leaking private backstage dealing to the competition, and it's probably in their contract not to be there. I know indy wrestlers can skate by this.

The Robbie McAllister thing happened literally three days before WrestleMania 24. I was just telling my friend about this, because my then-girlfriend and I were going to Orlando for WrestleMania, booked a rental car to leave Thursday, but found out that the rental car company we booked through wouldn't let us use a debit card (some of them do), so we went back home that night and booked a car for first thing in the morning elsewhere. Once we got home, we figured we might as well watch the live episode of TNA that was on, and there's Robbie McAllister show on TV, with his real name and "WWE Wrestler" on the lower third. By time we finally made it to Orlando on Saturday morning, he was already sent home, never to be seen again.
Highlanders and Spirit Squad were big and were great wrestlers. The eras tag team was huge.

How can you have a video about wrestlers who killed their own career and not have Tessa Blanchard? She had all the talent, not to mention her father is Tully Blanchard. She even became the first woman to hold a major wrestling promotion's World Championship, winning it in TNA. She has won 19 titles and not once has she held any of them more than 1 time each because she didn't need to. But her attitude backstage is what ruined her, and she was gone from wrestling for 2 years. Not because of the pandemic, but because no one wanted to work with her, not even the Indies. And now, the only major promotion that she has wrestled for is CMLL. But she is still just 28, which tells you how huge of a star she was when she was barely even 20. But she ruined it in just 5 years. Could have been in WWE or AEW and been multi time champions in both. But they don't want her because of her documented toxic attitude. That's killing a career right there.
Not only did Tessa inherit Tully’s talent, she inherited his attitude too.

Well, S.S really tried to hurt Rosemary. A punch or a kick is one thing but putting on the hold that she did and didnt let go-that's another thing.
Because a receipt is a stiff punch or kick. Just a painful reminder not to screw up again. That armbar was a legit one and Sexy star tried to break her arm potentially ruining Rosemary's career. Two very different things.
