    Great video. Got the exact same kit and I thought I’d share my tips on how to get it nice and tight. First of all, mount the fairing frame on the bike, not on the fairing. Keep the nut holdning the headlight ON, just tighten the extender nut on the remaining threads, I’m sure that’s the intention, I tried it without the original nut and it was close to impossible to the the fairing to line up. Loosen the handlebars and the speedometer for better access, I just let it hang on the tank with a cloth between. There’s nothing wrong with using washers, put the washer between the fairing bracket and the bolt! And of course, the thick washer between the fairing bracket and stock headlight holder. Hope this helps anyone. Sorry about the snapped bolt dude, that’s a gigantic pain in the ass. Ride safe.

    I thought you were mistaken when I first saw the video, but when I attempted installing it on my 2022 model I encountered the same issues. Great vid

    Thanks for this install video, the bolts are random as hell and I am still curious what the ones we cant figure out what they are for are actually for... On my way to ACE hardware for some decent hardware for install as we speak.

    I have the same kit gave up on it for a month but the best way I found to mount this was to throw all the hardware away go to hardware store and get I think m6 Allen bolt (socket caps I think they’re called) undo the 2 bolts holding the stock headlight fairing on, put bracket on faring and use the stock bolts for the headlight fairing, bolt bracket to bike then bolt fairing to bracket. Easiest way ive seen takes less time then the “right” way and in my opinion the fit is better using this method

    Installed a super similar fairing on my Iron. Do you ever get squeaking when you turn the handlebars? It comes and goes... I think it's coming from the 3 bolts where the bracket is attached to the actual fairing (rubbing between the fairing and the mounting bracket).

    • @AlenGarner
      @AlenGarner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never got any noise at all, just make sure everything is tightened down and nothing is rubbing. Possibly the clutch cable on the fairing ?

    Hey man I just installed this exact fairing on my bike (same missing boat and those two extra random tie bolts. What a damn chore it was to install, but it’s on finally. It feels like it’s going to break off on the first ride though. How is yours holding up?

    • @AlenGarner

      Ratbiker mine was very very sturdy I actually just recently switched to a larger one but loved the sleek look of that one

    • @Ratbiker
      @Ratbiker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alen Garner mine feels sturdy also. But the 3 anchor points in the plastic are already showing stress discoloration on the outside of the fairing. I didn’t tighten that much. And the rubber part where the missing bolt went wasn’t threaded properly. I tried to chase it but it didn’t help much

    • @AlenGarner
      @AlenGarner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ratbiker hmm strange, maybe around the area where it’s showing signs of stress put some gorilla glue around it just as preventative maintenance on it

    • @Ratbiker
      @Ratbiker 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alen Garner I didn’t pay much for it. Cheap Chinese plastic. When it breaks I’ll get a name brand fairing. It does look slick though 👌🏼

    I bought a 2018 Iron 883. Dealing with a ton of wind on the highway. Does this help with that or should I get a bigger fairing (Memphis Cafe) etc

    • @AlenGarner
      @AlenGarner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will help with a good amount of wind vs having nothing bigger the fairing less wind at highway speeds, but will also have more drag bigger you go it’s all about a happy medium

      You must have a different fairing. The bracket that’s included will not work with the stock nut that holds the headlight in. Have a great day
