    Hi, I want to know how to design a great architecture for wwise in UE code, now I just add a akcomponent on actor to play the character related audio, like footstep, swmming action, what about the persistent BGM and the area music in the map, I still use the same akcomponent at charactr? Or I need to write a actor for manager these different akcomponents? I found the BGM need to disable the occlusion, but the skill music need oclusion, I dont't know how to chose the postEvent, postEventAttch, postAssociateAkEvent and other API, what different between them.

    Hi, I couldn't download the ambiences from your website. The link "Wanna get your hands on this bad boy?" took me to a page for your online courses, I couldn't find a download link for the ambiences there.

    • @ScottGameSounds
      @ScottGameSounds  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tom. Apologies for no having the ambiances available anymore. I decided to add the ambiances as a little bonus to anyone who subscribed to my FMOD + Unity course. I might make a new sample pack and upload that to my website in the future. I'll be sure to keep you posted in these videos and on my website.

    Hey, can you do a video on how to properly build a project with Wwise? This seems to be a big problem in the community and Im currently having issues with it as well. I would help a lot.

    After integrating Wwise with my Unreal project, there is an option to "Upgrade Wwise in Project...". Is this an option you recommend that we do? If you don't mind explaining what that option is, that would be fantastic! Thanks for your help!

    • @ScottGameSounds
      @ScottGameSounds  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jackie, completely missed your comment, really sorry about that. I didn't know that was an option to be honest. It sounds like that might be a way to update your project to be compatible with newer versions of Wwise. I don't think it's essential if you're happy with the version you're using.

  • @IBeOutHere

    For some reason my sound isn't playing! I'm using a newer version but followed along with everything! hopefully I can figure it out! Thanks for all you do, Scott!

      Recently someone pointed out to me that sometimes you also need to add the 'Add Ak Component' node to your blueprints to get sounds to play. Not sure why it worked for me without it though?
      To do that, right click anywhere in your blueprints and search for 'Add Ak Component'. It should be under neath the AudioKinetic folder.
      Once you've found it, you'll want drag the white line from the red 'Begin Play' node into the white pin on the left side of the 'Add AK Component' node.
      Then drag a white line from the right side of the 'Add Ak Component' to the 'Post Event' node.
      Give that a try.
      If you're still not hearing anything, try going back in UE4, find the AudioKinetic event you created (I created mine at 16:20 in the video), right click it and select 'play sound' (it might be called something lke test sound or test event or play event, I can't quite remember off of the top of my head).
      You should then hear your event play. This is to simply test to see if your sound banks have been recognised by UE4. if you don't hear your event, then you might need to right click on the AudioKinetic bank (shown at 15:32) and refresh it. If still nothing, then you might have to start the entire process again. This may sound long and tedious, and it kind of it, but completely starting again (recreating events, rebuilding banks into UE4 etc) has sometimes fixed my projects where i couldn't hear anything.
      Let me know how you get on 'The Pope Of Funk'
      P.S. Awesome TH-cam name btw

      @IBeOutHere 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottGameSounds I ended up refreshing the banks and there it was clear as day aha!! This feels so different from the Unity FMOD workflow! Its refreshing but scary ahha!!

    • @IBeOutHere
      @IBeOutHere 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScottGameSounds I'll try that if it doesn't work in the future! Thanks! One other thing that was slightly different for me!!
      When I tried to make an event in Unreal it wouldn't let me create it with the exact same name, then I realised if I went into the Wwiseaudio folder (in unreal) and navigated to the events folder, there was an event already there which I guess wwise generated automatically? Maybe they do that now?! Either way I used that event and it worked! Just letting you know incase others have the same thing!
      Also thanks my name is a remnant of teenage tomfoolery ahha!
      Thanks Scott!! :)

    Thank you for the tutorials! I've followed every step to a T but unfortunately it isn't working. When I try to add the audio into Unreal it doesn't seem to like it- saying I can't copy it to that folder because there's a Waasi error(?). I've tried using the Wwise picker too but it just isn't working out. Anyone got any suggestions please? I've double checked everything is spelled correctly. Thank you for reading :)

      Hey Katie. Thanks so much for your kind words. You're not the only one who's had issues with this video. I think I'm going ot have to do some experimenting and re-make this video some time in the near future. I haven't used UE4 and Wwise in a while so sorry that I couldn't be of any more help.

      @@ScottGameSounds Hey Scott, thank you so much for your reply!! I've managed to get my sounds working without Wwise so it's all good :) Thank you again for the tutorials; I've watched quite a few on your channel now.
