I second that! That’s why I like your and Sarah’s channels. You both make mistakes, keep trying and either correct the mistake or come up with something better! I’ve always liked your “Latin chin bumper “. I’m an old Anglo from Michigan and you inspired me to grow one of my own! 😂
Run a bead of weld on the inside of the bearing race and it will slip out easy. The heat from the welding will shrink the race enough so it will loosen up.
Ya done a good job I was cringing when you were up on the table torquing the tailstock bolts just waiting for you to knock the input shaft out but you didn't 👍👍👍
FYI: On future builds, put sealant on the inside of bolt holes. Putting on the out side means oil can potentially wick its way up the treads and leave a light oil film around the bolt head/hole. Not a big deal when it’s your own stuff, but just for future reference.
T5 is a mustang too - we use the term for the VW van aka Transporter or the successor of the samba bus. 5th generation from 2003 onwards. I had wondered why the transmission housing looked so strange.
This so reminds me of my high school years. I bought a 1965 mustang (1964) 6 cylinder, 3 speed manual in 1977. It ate clutches, so I had to put one in every year or two. Family mechanic wouldn't work on it and would guide me as how to fix it (I secretly wished he was my dad), along with a friend of mine who was older...17. Apparently, the driveshaft was from a V-8. But I owned that car for 18 years. It never saw a professional mechanic, but I somehow kept it running. Always was able to do basic work on my cars until 2005 when I bought my 1st Porsche. Haven't done jack shite since.
Yeah I watch you, Andy and auto resto mod and another old guy from Moab Utah he’s been doing restoration of decades now and I have a mustang repair playlist of how to do for my repairs are future repairs
Great job Angel! I bet your transmission will work perfectly and you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment when it does. Maybe someday you’ll be one of those guys that helps someone else with their transmission!
The only tiny piece of advice I can offer is get yourself a stainless steel bench that you can easily clean and maintain it so you can use as it as a rebuild station. Storing your parts on that dirty dusty cloth covered table gave me anxiety. You don't want anything getting into your newly rebuilt transmission.
One of my favorite things about your videos is that you don't hide your mistakes. You show the struggle!

Tinkering with a transmission sets you apart from us weekend warriors. Congratulations on a job well done.
The dog with the side eye when you couldn't get it in😂
😂😂😂
WOW!! Dr. Pilot is IN 'da house'!! That was quite a surgical process.. I was on the end of my seat for the whole video!
Dr. Pilot 😎😎
Thanks for your help Kat! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You are fearless🎉

Nice work, you crushed that assembly. So this time next week we'll get to see the car driving around? :)
Thanks for your help! LOL i wish it was that simple 😂😂
GOOD JOB!
That's alot of attention to detail I believe that it will work
This is my first time watching the food cake network. Not so bad, think I will try a few more.
Welcome😎
Great job! Sticking with the budget build theme and reusing good parts. Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁🐎
🤘🏼😎
Hi Angel I’m thinking you did a heck of a job on that transmission! Looks like all the stuff moves freely and it should work beautifully! Stay cool
Ambitious, but no more so than anything else on this project. Fun to watch. good luck!
Nice work! Engine/transmission rebuilding skills are a huge money saver.
Great video Angel anybody that can hold my attention for 35 minutes is really good :)
Well thank you John! Yea this one was a tad longer, but im happy you enjoyed it 🤘🏼

This was interesting.
I replaced transmissions back in the day.
But I never rebuilt a transmission.
I have minimal experience.
Now you have just as much as me lol
Gosh, I hope itworks perfectly after all that! Did Ozzie give you the bird?
Yes, that SOB

There is a guy back east used to stock a peel and place shim kit. You peel the shim down to size with a razor blade works great.
Definitely will try on the next one
Great one Rookie , you are getting more confident keep them coming
😎
Nice work, that’s a very technical operation!
Thanks Kev🤘🏼😎
Well done dude!
THANKS MICAH ❤️🤘🏼

My first pony was a 66 6cyl also!!
GGs man. I was thoroughly entertained. Keep up the good work.
I was hoping you'd eventually tell us the glasscar was getting the v6 t5, and ecoboo🐄oost
Thatd honestly be pretty sick!
Bonjour de France.
🙌 don't feel too bad. My screen didn't adjust😮 I thought you were doing it upside down, but it was me watching upside down😄
LOL😂
Hey Angel, this is an excellent video! I've been dreading rebuilding my trans. This definitely helps give me the confidence to give it a go!
Hell yeah!! Ill be looking out for your rebuild video! 😎
Yeah I watch you, Andy and auto resto mod and another old guy from Moab Utah he’s been doing restoration of decades now and I have a mustang repair playlist of how to do for my repairs are future repairs
Looks like a sweet pony you got there 👍🏻
Great job Angel! I bet your transmission will work perfectly and you’ll feel a great sense of accomplishment when it does. Maybe someday you’ll be one of those guys that helps someone else with their transmission!
I hope so!!!

I induct you as honorary genXer. You fearlessly done did the doin'.lol
But for real, good job as usual and I love your no-drama content.
Wow, well thank you 😎
Always with the negative waves Moriarty. Caffeine jitters. It’ll be fine.
Caffeine jitters yes lol
Love the video, Angel!
Thanks !!
Great video.
Nice work! I love Ozzie :D
Yo te quiero tambien - Oz Man
Nice work
Confidence! You learned to land a plane, you can rebuild a transmission. You just get better each time you do it.
Jeez I had some safety squints when you were grabbing at the gears. Usually gear teeth are very sharp despite them looking rather dull
Haha I luckily none got me
Aluminum is subject to galling
Where did you source the shifter forks and the shifter fork bar? Can't find them anywhere
lol “if you don’t like it, then you can buy me something better” 100%
👌🏼👌🏼
yep! 👍

You are 1000X correct! The table was a hand me down so the under that cloth is twice as bad, maybe a stainless slab on top?
yeah….that looks good…..well done……most of my tranny work was done after midnite!
Wow, a night owl! I like it
😎🍺👍🇦🇺
Pinche 5th gear 🤣
