The parents themselves don't have blue eyes themselves because it's a recessive gene meaning that they have to have two blue eye genes for it to be expressed.

Since my dad has blue eyes, he's clearly received two small b alleles, meaning he shows that trait for blue eyes. My mum, I know, is Bb, because her dad had blue eyes and her mum has brown. My brother got blue eyes because all we can receive from my dad was "b" and my mother obviously carries one little b. I have grey/brown eyes because I received mums B and dads b, so I am Bb, therefore in capable of having a blue eyed child if I conceive with someone who either has Bb or bb. Clear as mud.

If you would only show me the face or the body of my boyfriend without knowing him, for sure I wouldn't fall in love. Maybe I wouldn't even consider him attractive objectively.
