thanks for the video, very nice to get those compared side by side and actually see both of them together to compare sizes. I got few GC100 and they've been working good. I did get few disconnects there and there, but overall okeyish. one is in the engine room covering twin engines. even with good lighting it's still very difficult to see details, like really would be impossible to notice an oil leak if it is fresh and not dark. even to notice if engine is running is a bit challenging, as belts just blur and you need to study if it is really spinning.. maybe need different angle, but same time - trying to cover both engines with one camera. GC200 has much more narrow viewing angle, so then it would not cover both and would need one for each engine. On the other hand GC100 has such nice a wide angle that it is really great as a backup camera. I've been reading that GC200 has some problems with lense fogging..
I also noticed that when I had a disconnect it was usually because the plotter Wifi got turned off for some reason. The GC100 has been working fine for several months now. Thanks for watching.
I concur regarding the GC100. I have a Carver 406 while it is well within the distance specified for Wi-Fi, the camera cuts out when I need it the most. Useless camera even after the update form 2018. I have tried all channels 1-8 for Wi-Fi on my 8612-chart plotter. I even got a new one sent to me from Garmin. I really thought it would be more flexible being Wi-Fi, it is not acceptable INHO. Great comparison video though.
@@mvintrigue-trawlerdiy1101 that is a real good idea to have one in the engine bay. So if you get an indication when on the flybridge, you can see if you need to check it or jump overboard. Lol
I have the GC200. It performs well but the mount does not have any adjustment vertically or horizontally. As a result however it is mounted, that is what you see. For mine, I see the horizon and can't be changed until I find a mount for it. Does the GC100 have any adjustment in the mount?
The 100 swivels up/down and I believe you can rotate views every 90 degrees in the plotter settings. Other than that I suppose some kind of mount from Amazon would be needed. I would recommend the 200 though. Much better camera.
@@mvintrigue-trawlerdiy1101 Right, I have the 200 but can't see my rear, just the horizon. I've been looking for a mount for months but nothing anywhere. Going for the 100 (if it is adjustable) so I can see my rear when docking. Thanks for your video.

I just amended my opinion in the comments. Its terrible..lol. Thanks for reminding me!
Pretty cool! Useful when you have two decks. My boat is a lot simpler.
I mainly want it so I can check the engine bay. But it should when backing up too.

I, too, have the GC100 and HATE THEM. T/hey disconnect a LOT!!!! Horrible.

@@mvintrigue-trawlerdiy1101 just reading this! Thank you I'll try that. So I just download the software, put it into the mfd and go from there?
