- Car Won't start after a day of driving. No crank... nothing but a Click on each try. Everything else works. Radio works, power everything. Lights on dash works. Car won't start. Checked out battery. Went through some Troubleshooting steps.

Same problem with my 2012 vw Passat tdi sel but it says “switch off ignition” every time the dash comes on I still have no clue what’s wrong with it.
Mine says ignition switched on and doesn’t start
So what’s wrong with it my car is A 12 and it’s doing the samething

Did you press the vrake pedal to start? Because it seem you ot press it so it wont start...
I'm having startup issues and it starts after about 3 tries. I wondered first if it was the FOB or FOB battery or FOB contacts but it did same with the unused spare. Mine ticks over fine so starter & battery are great. I read a comment about leaving 30secs for the Glowplugs to adapt fuel. It had a weird revving once for idle around 1200 as it altered for the outside temps now being colder on Autumn. Next time it did that it went dead. Then after reading you comment here I connected that I had stopped using the Handbrake over the years on a flat parking ground due to rear brakes can stick in Winter.
Is there a proper startup that does require Brakes to be ON either by Handbrake or pressing the footpedal? I have only ever needed pressing the latter due to putting into D from P (Petrol R model DSG). The faults are random ESP, EPC & CAT. When driving it has no issues. Cheers.
So mine is 2012 cc 2.0. It is doing the se thing . So you think it's the starter ?
It could be alot of different things. Try to Troubleshoot it like in.the video.
My doing same thing I just changed my water pump and put it back together and now want crank no click nothing
Did u fix it buddy? Maybe something like a brake light switch?
Could be a fuel pump
I HAVE A 2012 CC DOING THE SAME THING BUT MINE SAY ERROR BRAKES & ABS. MY EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE LIGHT IS FLASHING ALSO.

It is a fuse why did the same thing and it was the fuse inside the side box

AYE DAMN I ACTUALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS OR WHAT I HAD TO DO BCUZ I ACTUALLY GOT RID OF IT A COUPLE MONTHS AGO BCUZ IT WAS GIVING ME TOO MANY ISSUES. I STILL LIKE THE CAR I PLAN ON GETTING ANOTHER ONE LATER WHEN I HAVE THE TIME TO WORK ON IT MYSELF AND KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE.

You get the answer just around 13 mins it was a faulty starter. You could have said that in 30 secs. You wasted a lot of people’s time. May God have mercy on your poor soul. Thanks for the advice try to make a video on how to make fast videos!.😊
