2015 VW passat push start button won’t work or takes multiple times to press and start car, this is how to fix that in depth. Any questions please comment. Thank you!
My 15 TDI Passat the exact same! Was looking at dealerships and $169 "diagnostic" fee, new switch $197 than labor. Took me 10 min EXACTLY like vid shows. Like other comments, the 4 prongs on the side were a little tricky. I pooped the "hidden" one out and put a medicine tabe behind it that held it out, THAN was able to get the other 3 tabs out to get it off. Cardboard was to thick and paper is not thick enough, but the medicine tab was thin enough but strong enough hold out the tab. Great vid, saved me several hundred $ + the time of appointment, waiting around the service department for hours... THANKS!!!
Life saver! I was afraid I was going go have to take it to the dealership and pay $500+ for a replacement button. Thank you so much. Literally took less than 10 minutes. The hardest part was trying to pop the 4 clips around the button without breaking them.
Thanks for this! Followed your instructions on my '17 Alltrack. After cleaning all the contacts, it actually didn't work at all. I added some dielectric grease on the contacts for the harness connection inside the switch and it worked like a charm.
@@TravisLyons925 legendary! Just did this to mine and it works better than when I first bought the car! Best $10 I ever spent 👌 thank you so much 🙏 saved me $300! That’s what the stealership quoted to fix it (replace the button) here in Australia
I have an issue where I press the start button the dash light up and say turn the wheel it don’t crank it makes a clicking noise from the steering wheel any suggestions?
I was ready to question the 10 minute claim at the end but i'll be damned if it didn't work, and in 10-15 minutes. Thank you!

I have this problem only in the morning sometimes, then the car will start normally after one hour.
Any idea? Or feedback?
Mine did that also, id try to clean the inside and see if that works. If not it could possibly be the button needing to be replaced.
Was it having problems cutting off also?
No only starting up, you might have a bigger issue
Try changing the battery in the remote
In this case the issue wasnt the battery, it was the button itself.
And Volkswagen could not fix it?
@@bikelifecurt5482 Glad it’s fixed
Thanks bruh 🫡🫡
