Chris Rupp was the driving force to keep Home Free going when so many other groups would have called it quits. Without him we would not have this amazing group. Don't miss a chance to see them live.
Actually according to Chris Adam was the one who refused to give up when even Chris was having doubts and almost ready to quit. HOWEVER if it wasn't for Chris there never would have been a Home Free, Adam would have never learned to beatbox and none of them may never have even met. Chris has a beautiful voice and is such a talented arranger and I don't think he ever got the credit he deserved from reactors. I'm thankful to Chris for his own talent and vision and bringing together such a talented group of people including Chance.
We saw them in Rochester, NY the end of November and were blown away. They are so much fun live. We were fans before but we are fanatics now. I bought the bus 🚌 tour t shirt and I am wearing it out. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
@@MaggieandMissyPugs My grandson and I are going to see them for the first time on the 22nd and I'm counting the days. Next month I start saving for tickets if they come to Indy next year.
This arrangement was by Adam Rupp! The ice castle is in Minnesota and at a different location each year. Chris Rupp started the group with his brother, Adam, and left in 2016 to pursue a solo career.
Thanks for the shout-out! Chris Rupp left in 2016. After Home Free won Season 4 of the SingOff, they got different groups from the show to open for them regionally. Chance and his group Street Corner Symphony, Season 2, 2nd place, were the opening act for a number of shows during Home Free's first tour. When Chris Rupp left, Chance was invited to join Home Free.
This is my favourite arrangement of any of their songs. It's by beatboxer, Adam Rupp & it's so complicated & complex & they sing it beautifully. Love that trill?of Austin's 2:08 and Tim's low note(2:30), always gives me chills. My favourite bit is when they do, Listen to what I hear and go up from Tim's low note to Austin's very high notes (is it an octave? I'm not musical at all)(3:18). The harmonies are amazing & the beatboxing out of this world, as you said, so ethereal. Great reaction.
Yes! From Tim's "Listen to..." up to Austin's "*I* say!" is 5 octaves, stair-stepped up by each voice. A-mazing! Adam Rupp was brilliant, and so modest about it.
Adam's arrangement is my favorite arrangement of any Christmas song, ever. Chris Rupp (Adam's brother and the fellow you didn't recognize) has a video on his channel where he talks about the making of this video. One thing that surprised me about it is that while they were filming and singing along with the playback, the music at the ice castle was still blasting. I can't imagine how they managed. Yup. Best Christmas song video ever.
Shows how old this song is. Pre-Chance era. Chris was also in Country Fried Pop, Butts Remix, Ring of Fire and Elvira. He used to hide a chicken in each of their videos. When he left the chicken was retired to Austin's living room display case. Their What Child is This has all 6 members. The vocals are amazing!
They do this live in their christmas concerts usually. I cant wait to see them later this month! Btw, this was arranged by Adam Rupp. A masterpiece in my opinion.
We hope to see them, weather permitting, in Brookings and can't wait! They are Def doing this song in the holiday show. Some videos out already from the Denver show Las night.
@@kmwwrench me too! It's my granddaughter's Christmas present. See you there! Austin said on his live that this is best show because it's home for Home Free. Usually 4,000-5,000 people.
That is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother and one of the orginial members of the group he and Adam started home free while they were in college. Chris has since gone on to have a solo career
Chris has a lot more than a solo career, producer and in a couple other groups including one with his sister. Check out Rockin Robin by 7th Ave. ft Rob Lundquist.
My favorite Christmas song video. My favorite arrangement of this song and my favorite performance of this song...PERIOD!!! Way to go young lady. Keep it up!
They have done this in more current live performances at Christmas with Chance in the group. I went to a concert last Dec. and it still sounds spectacular!
Yes!! Thank you Danielle! You finally listened to not only my favorite Home Free Christmas song, but my favorite Home Free song, period. I simply love everything about this gem!! The harmonies are spectacular, Adam's arrangement is phenomenal, and Tim's low notes were in danger of cracking the ice castle. Speaking of that beautiful castle, they make one every year here in Minnesota for our annual Winter Carnival, and it's located in various places in the Twin Cities metro area. I saw our guys in concert for the first time last year (I'm going again in 15 days!!!), and yes, this song sounds amazing! A recommendation I have for a fun Christmas song that often gets overlooked is "What Christmas Means to Me," which features the guys at their goofiest, and Rob just sleighs (see what I did there?) the lead vocals. #subscriptionsquad !!
The man in the cap is Chris Rupp, brother to Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. Together they founded Home Free. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo and was replaced by Adam Chance. I haven’t heard this live but I hear that it’s great. I’ve seen on video they do Man of Constant Sorrow live and use a looper for the mouth harp and Austin also does a harmonica with Adam so it’s pretty cool. I imagine they can do a good rendition of this too. Try Mary Did You Know, Angels We Have Heard on High, Silent Night, O Holy Night and they have lots of silly Xmas songs too.
It doesn’t need to be Christmas for me to listen to this song! Sometimes it just gets put into my playlist as one of the reminders that there IS good in this world!!
Happy DAY 2 of Fa-la-la-idays!! So excited for this home free rendition of Do you hear what i hear?! Also question: I didn't recognize someone in the group today...maybe an old member?
Chris and Adam Rupp founded the group way back in 2000. Other members changed in and out in the early years. As said above, Chris left the group in 2016. The current line up has been intact since 2016.
🤠You should go back and find their video from being on "The Sing Off" season 4. 🦆🐻*mrduckbear11* has a playlist of all their performances, including the judge's comments, which are awesome! Chris tells about starting with brother Adam and growing from there.🥰 I wish you'd commented on the octaves covered in *"Listen to what I say!"* from Tim to Austin, they jumped FIVE octaves!
This is one of my all-time favorites. But yeah, you really, REALLY need to react to Snow Globe. One of Home Free’s best and literally makes my heart so happy every time I hear it!!!
The singer you did not recognize is Chris Rupp, Adam the beatboxers brother. He and Adam co-founded the group back in 2000 when they were in college. He left in 2016 to pursue a solo career and Adam Chance filled his place in the group. I have seen this live twice and it sounds just Amazing, I will see them Dec. 6th and I hear that this song is on the playlist. If you get a chance to see them in concert jump right in, they are Great.
I have been to two Christmas concerts and they sing this song pretty much the same now with Chance. It is so amazing hearing it live. This is my favorite of their Christmas songs.
My favorite HF Christmas carol. I just love the uniqueness and complexity of it. (And I normally hate people who stray from the traditional version of Christmas carols!) I saw HF 1 year ago, and they sang this. Sounded just like the video, except Tim's subsonic "gold" hurt my ear! (No real complaints!) The guys almost didn't record this one because it is a difficult arrangement; so glad they did. DYHWIH was 1st recorded in 1962 during a difficult time in The Cold War. Adam said he wanted his arrangement to mirror the difficulties of today's world. (Or something like that 😀.)
Danielle, I am so glad you did this. You always pick up on the things that are really great, and there are so many in this. I think it is their best arrangement of all their work. Mayday falling just behind it. Like you, I like the song; but I've never heard a version equal to this.
The person you don't know is the founder of the group Chris Rupp. He is Adam Rupp (beatboxers) older brother. Adam Chance took his place in 2016 when Chris left for solo career. Try Warmest Winter, Snow Globe to name a few. Always enjoy your reactions to these guys.
In the very beginning Home Free was started by Adam Rupp and his brother Chris. He is the one you asked about. They started the group in their home State of Minnesota. Chris left to do his own thing and was replaced by Adam Chance. The Ice Castle seen in this video is moved to a different location in Minnesota each winter. 👗👗👠👠💓💓
Since this video is a few years old, it was made with Chris Rupp, whom Adam Chance replaced. Adam's first video appearance was singing a song from the movie Zootopia. There ya go.
Please react to What Child Is This. It features all six Home Free members...Austin, Rob, Chance, Chris, Tim, and Adam. Also, Warmest Winter and Away in A Manger. Love your enthusiasm and comments!
Chris Rupp has a great video on the making of this song and video on his TH-cam channel, definitely worth checking out. Also, for anyone who doesn't know who Chris Rupp is check out "Tim Foust's Touching Tribute to Chris" on TH-cam, he should be known by every Home Free fan.
Videos before 2016 are going to have Chris Rupp in them instead of Chance as baritone. Chris is the brother of the beatboxer Adam Rupp and they are the founders of Home Free. In 2016 Chris went on to do a solo career and has also made and joined in other groups as well such as 7th Ave (also with their sister Tristin, who can also sing well) and now Chris is a part of a trio called Cypress Fyre. Chance stepped into Home Free group performances in 2016 so later videos have Chance in them. You should check out all 6 of them singing together on "What Child Is This".
The outro said who arranged this masterpiece and also where the video was filmed. It was filmed at an ice castle in Eden Prairie. The person you don't recognize is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. Chris and Adam were the originators of Home Free back when they were in college and worked so hard to keep Home Free going. He has since left to pursue a solo career. Chance came in when Chris left. This is a song that I didn't much care one way or the other about until Home Free did this beautiful arrangement. Adam Rupp arranged this and it is so creative, unique and intricate. Brilliant! Adam usually records all of his vocal percussion/beat boxing in his beat lab in his home and all the elements are of course layered in. The diverse and multitude talents and skills within Home Free is insane, both when Chris was a member and now, when Chance has joined them. This is now my favorite Christmas song. Love, Love, Love it. I honestly don't see how they could improve on this because it's already perfection. I always enjoy your reactions and analysis. Thank you
On the top of my list of favorite holiday songs. Every time I listen I hear something different. For a Home Free holiday song with a different sound, try the 2010 release of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I missed totally missed this song until I recently listened to another reactor. So beautifully done and with a different styling. Love your reactions. Merry Christmas.
When you hear Austin sing the very high part - said the king to the people everywhere, they all sing listen to what I say - the each come in individually an octave apart starting w/Tim. It is SO cool.
The mystery man is Chris Rupp, Adam's older brother and co-founder of Home Free, with a couple others who moved on early. He moved on to solo work and producing, etc. in May of 2016. His youtube site is ChrisRuppOfficial. Please look there for his series Home Free History. He also performs with Cypress Fyre and 7th Ave. The dark haired lady in 7th Ave is Adam and Chris's sister Tristin. The have a lot of great videos out but my favorites are Uptown Funk and the mashup I Kissed a Girl in the House of the Rising Sun. And I almost forgot to add that you can find a wonderful rendition of What Child is This? by Chris Rupp feat. Home Free at his channel. This is 1 of 3 videos I know of where you see both Chance and Chris with the rest of the group; it's the only one where all 6 are performing. The other 2 have the former/future member in the bar/party background. (House Party & It Looks Good)
Mary Did You Know should be your next HF Christmas reaction & of course it’s as spectacular as this one. Then for some lighter Christmas songs from them go for Cold Hard Cash For Christmas & Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. Love your reactions so keep ‘em coming !!
That was Chris Rupp, the founder of the group & the real life brother of the beatboxer Adam Rupp. He left the group in May of 2016 & was replaced by Adam CHANCE. I love Chris but Chance has made Home Free better
That is Chris rupp Adam's brother and founding member of home free. Left the group a few years ago to pursue solo stuff and producing music. That's when Adam chance joined
This is an older video - the unknown man is the beatboxer's brother, Chris Rupp. He was replaced later with Adam Chance. Chris left on his own; his brother is still with the band.
Hey Dani, new subscriber, love to hear your comments and see your face with the amazing things happen in the music, especially Home Free. Loved this one! Check out 2 original Christmas songs; snow globe by Tim and warmest winter by Austin. But on the last one get your tissues ready! Low bass Kenneth.
Danielle, the guy you didn't recognize is Chris Rupp, the co-founder of Home Free with his brother, Adam Rupp, the beat boxer/vocal percussionist! He was replaced with Adam "Chance" Ray in 2016, when Chris left to pursue a solo career & other endeavors. He still does things with his Home Free guys! This is THE best version of this song & one of my VERY favorites, along with their incredible version of "Mary Did You Know" & "O, Holy Night"!😊
Hi Dani, congrats on your impending arrival. I’d like to suggest you check out ‘We three kings’ - The Hound and The Fox feat. Tim Foust. It’s a beautiful piece and a great introduction to an amazing and talented couple. #subscriptionsquad
Chris Rupp (the guy in the hat), formed the group with his brother Adam in 2000. He left the group in 2016 to pursue other things and was replaced by Adam Chance.
I just found your channel and don't know if you read comments this late after a reaction but the one you can't identify is Chris Rupp, brother of Adam Rupp. Chris actually started the band but left to start doing solo work. The second Adam (they call him Chance) replaced him. A lot of things have happened after you did this reaction. Tim, Austin, and Chance have started solo channels on the side. Tim and Austin have a side project called Sweet and Low Music Co. Home Free has started doing a lot of original music music and has released several albums. They have won several awards. Home Free still tours about 150 days per year. They are, as of this date on a tour in Europe, and the fans in Europe are called Euro Fries. I would HIGHLY recommend that you listen to Tim's solo cover of a Doo-Wop cover of "Stay/Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" to really hear his 5-octave range. (Tim and an acapella singer named Peter Hollens) have done many collaborations together. Peter is a one-man acapella singer who layers himself up to 150 times per tune. I would suggest you listen to some of Tim and Peters' covers. I am so glad I found your channel
The person you asked about is Chris Rupp. He and his brother Adam Rupp ( the beatboxer) started Home Free. He left the group several years ago to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Adam Chance
This was arranged by beet box or Adam Rupp… It’s not surprising that was kind of a reggae beat to this if you listen closely!! Adams brother Chris is the home free member you didn’t recognize… He’s the original founder of Home Free who left for his own solo career! Really nice reaction!! Merry Christmas🎄
The new person is Chris Rupp who is Adam's brother. He and Adam founded the group. Adam Chance took his place in 2017. He left the group to do more producing.
Love what you do! You have to check out Home Free, the Oakridge Boys and Jeffrey do "Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Austin goes off straight up Southern Baptist revival style on this one! It'll give you chills for sure.
Others have stated, the guy you don't know is Chris Rupp, Adam's brother. They started the group years ago, and Chris was with the group for several years after the Singoff until he decided to strike out on his own projects (he has his own channel on youtube). This is when they brought in Chance to take over for him. So in all the early videos you will see Chris as opposed to Chance. Both talented dudes.
I think O Holy Night is a must, Mary Did you know and Snow Globe for an original for next Home Free! lol I do realize there are plenty of other artists you would like to react to its all good !! lol
Chris Rupp and his brother Adam Rupp were the two original members of Home Free. Chris Rupp left to pursue a solo career. Adam Chance was added to take Chris Rupp's place.
ADAM RUPP'S BROTHER, CHRIS . BOTH STARTED HOME FREE IN 2000 WITH A THIRD MEMBER. BACK THEN THERE WAS ONLY THREE MEMBERS,NOW FIVE. CHRIS LEFT MAY 2016 TO DO HIS OWN THING [HE HAS A TH-cam CHANNEL]. CHANCE REPLACED HIM SOON AFTER. HE WAS ORIGINALLY THE BASS IN A GROUP CALLED STTREET CORNER SYMPHONYWO OF THE SING-OFF. HIS FIRST VIDEO WITH HOME FREE WAS "TRY EVERYTHING" FILMED IN A PORTLAND OREGON STUDIO WHEN THEY WERE ON TOUR. THEY LIKE TO DO VIDEOS ON THE ROAD TOURING. MORE ABOUT "THE SING-OFF" [EPISODES ARE ON TH-cam] SO YOU CAN SEE HOW ALL THE GROUPS HAVE EVOLVED THROUGH THE YEARS. SEASON ONE PETER HOLLENS IN A GROUP CALLED "ON THE ROCKS". SEASON TWO ADAM CHANCE IN STREET CORNER SYMPHONY. SEASON THREE, PENTATONIX [WON] AND SEASON FOUR, HOME FREE [WON]. VOICE PLAY ALSO CAME FROM SEASON FOUR [ I THINK THEY CAME IN FOURTH PLACE]. NOW YOU KNOW MORE ABOUT WHO YOU REACT TO. THIS SONG WAS ARRANGED BY ADAM RUPP. FILMED IN EDEN PRAIRIE MN. CASTLE RELOCATES EVERY YEAR.
Please react to "I Wonder As I Wander - Epic Version" by Simon Khorolskiy. Its a lesser known Christmas song. Since you know who Chris Rupp is now. Simon and he did a really awesome video together, "Poor Wayfaring Stranger - Epic Version Simon Khorolski Feat. Chris Rupp" and...well Simon is Russian American and, I didn't *_know_* I needed to hear a couple verses of Poor Wayfaring Stranger in Russian until it happened.
Chris Rupp, the guy you didn't recognize, put the group together He was replaced by AdamnChance. Chris could handle singing tenor, baritone and bass, as well as beat boxing. He does so on some of his solo stuff.
You should check out Chris Rupp and Home Free "What child is this?" It has the Adam you are missing as well as Chris Rupp. Another Excellent Arrangement.
If you haven't already, I would strongly recommend that you check out Pentatonix's live version (not from a concert, but actually recorded in what appears to be a corridor in a stone chapel) of "Silent Night". The only echo effects are natural.
This is an old video , and that is Chris Rupp Adam Rupp's brother one of the founding members .. He left the group about 6 or more years ago and was replaced by Adam Chance .. Any time you see Chris Rupp in a Home Free video you know it is quite old ..

Thank you
if you are anywhere around dallas on the 30th and newyears eve, home free are playing 2 nights in dallas
This was one of their best Christmas songs that I enjoyed. I guess because of the ice. great reaction. Squad.
hearing Austin's high, with Tim's subwoofer bass for the contrast. awesome.
You should listen to Snow Globe by Home Free.... be prepared to have your MIND blown!
Home Free will be at the Majestic Theatre Dallas end of this month!
(House Party & It Looks Good)
Terrific reaction, thank you! Subscribed.
Well since we are looking for Holiday music and doing home free ... look up "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" by Kenney Rogers Ft Home Free
Love your reactions.
Home Free does it once again! Love your reaction!
Tim Foust /Lion Sleeps Tonight, amazing talent! The whole album Pieces of Me is amazing!
Please listen to the ends of their videos......a lot of times they will explain where they are or who arranged it. You might like to know !!!
That is Chris Rupp, the original baritone. He is Adam's brother and a founding member of the band. He was before Chance.
Mary Did u know and O Holy Night are incredible by HF. The arrangements are amazing
Finally, this song is so so good…Loved the reaction 😃🔥😊
Danielle, the guy you didn't recognize is Chris Rupp, the co-founder of Home Free with his brother, Adam Rupp, the beat boxer/vocal percussionist! He was replaced with Adam "Chance" Ray in 2016, when Chris left to pursue a solo career & other endeavors. He still does things with his Home Free guys! This is THE best version of this song & one of my VERY favorites, along with their incredible version of "Mary Did You Know" & "O, Holy Night"!😊
Thanks for the reaction!
Hi Dani, congrats on your impending arrival.
I’d like to suggest you check out ‘We three kings’ - The Hound and The Fox feat. Tim Foust. It’s a beautiful piece and a great introduction to an amazing and talented couple.

The Man you do not recognize is the Chris Rupp, the literal reason Home Free exists. ❤️🤘
The person you asked about is Chris Rupp. He and his brother Adam Rupp ( the beatboxer) started Home Free. He left the group several years ago to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by Adam Chance
Every time a home free video comes out i wait to hear it until you react to it
This was arranged by beet box or Adam Rupp… It’s not surprising that was kind of a reggae beat to this if you listen closely!! Adams brother Chris is the home free member you didn’t recognize… He’s the original founder of Home Free who left for his own solo career! Really nice reaction!! Merry Christmas🎄
Listen to their live performance of “run run Rudolph!!”
The new person is Chris Rupp who is Adam's brother. He and Adam founded the group. Adam Chance took his place in 2017. He left the group to do more producing.
Merry Christmas Marie 🤩❤️☃️🎉🥳
Go back and listen to the Outro of this one, and who did the arrangement. It may surprise you!
Love what you do! You have to check out Home Free, the Oakridge Boys and Jeffrey do "Oh Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". Austin goes off straight up Southern Baptist revival style on this one! It'll give you chills for sure.
That was Chris Rupp and yes it would be interesting to see the current line up do this again.
I think O Holy Night is a must, Mary Did you know and Snow Globe for an original for next Home Free! lol I do realize there are plenty of other artists you would like to react to its all good !! lol
Another beautiful song is their OH HOLY NIGHT.
If you haven't heard it yet, you NEED to listen to their version of O' Holy Night!! Their version of that song made me a Home Free fan.
Please do Home Free's *Cold Hard Cash (For Christmas.)*
This is Chris Rupp founder of the group and Adam's brother ... He strated group and left for his own way later when Adam Chance come
An under-rated Christmas song is "Mary Did You Know" by Voctave, featuring Mark Lowry, who actually wrote the song. It's amazing!!
Wish there was a full version of Aviva Chernick and Justin Gray performing this. Their version is so unique and chillingly beautiful.
"Cold Hard Cash" next please. An original Christmas song by Austin.
Christmas Ain't for the Lonely and Full of Cheer are also great fun. And New Years has to have Alde Lang Syne. Best version hands down ever!
If you haven't already, I would strongly recommend that you check out Pentatonix's live version (not from a concert, but actually recorded in what appears to be a corridor in a stone chapel) of "Silent Night". The only echo effects are natural.
Chis Rupp, Adam's brother, baritone. He actually started the group.
Like everyone is saying that is Chris Rupp. If you want to see the reaction/behind the scenes of this video it is on his personal page
This is an old video , and that is Chris Rupp Adam Rupp's brother one of the founding members .. He left the group about 6 or more years ago and was replaced by Adam Chance .. Any time you see Chris Rupp in a Home Free video you know it is quite old ..
