Yeah, the spoken lines over the music make it confusing; I prefer it as what it was: a straightforward mystery for the listener to unravel.

Somebody's Chelsea, She Think His Name was John, Or The Greatest Man I Never Knew, and Does He Love You are 4 really great Reba songs. She's my G.O.A.T. She sings, she acts. I saw her on Broadway doing Annie Get Your Gun and it was like she was born for the role.

Songs like this are why I love old country especially,, it tells a story..Life stories. My pop-pop raised me on old country.. thank you Pop-Pop.. Mom raised me on Elvis.. thank you mom.. Daddy raised me on crooners like Frank Sinatra, so old .. and my parents were actually in their 20's when the Beatle's came out.. Never heard a Beatle's song in my home.. I raised myself on 70's rock and grew up Hair Band Era. and give me old school Hip-Hop everyday and twice on Sunday... I just love music.. open to it all as long as it doesn't go ignorant.

I had that record when I was about 8. And b side was a Dime a Dance. Very grown up songs for me at the time but I knew every word to this song. Vickie Lawrence was an amazing singer. Sort of like her version even better then this one.

You should watch the movie Tremors .. it's a hilarious monster movie with Reba, Keven Bacon (young) and a baby Dune worm (before Dune was a thing). It is hysterical!

I can't stand scary movies. I'm a scaredy cat. I even scream watching the original cartoon version of Scooby Doo. .. Tremor!!! ... When I was younger, they would play that movie every year in T.V. No matter how many times I've watched this (my family loves scary movies), I still scream at all the right places.... =)
Actually Dune was a thing, long before Tremors. The one that was recently in theaters is a reboot. The original came out in 1984, a full 6 years before Tremors.
The original Dune books by Frank Herbert were written in the late 1960s. That is about 25 years before Tremors was a thing.

Country music at heart is simply telling the audience a story. The best ones resonate across age, race, and political boundaries. If you think about it, we have always passed our history through music. Even when the singer/rapper dies, the song remembers when it all happened. Listen to that song by Trisha Yearwood. It's called The Song Remembers When.
Reba didn't write "Fancy" nor "The Lights went out in Georgia"
She just covered them. I believe, Bobby Gentry (Ode to Billy Joe) wrote and performed Fancy which Joss Stone also covered. The original , "Georgia" song was sang by Carol Burnetts best friend and star of "Mama's Family (Vicki Lawrence). It was the only song she ever released as she was a comedian at heart.

Reba is a story teller. She is a legend. This is what country music use to be. A story.
People tend to throw “GOAT” out there way too easily, when there are people like Reba who help define what constitutes as GREAT.
You need to do Reba and Vince Gill's duet, The Heart Won't Lie, which also has a really good story video to it. Two great voices together. Reba and Dolly also did a re-do of Reba's classic song Does He Love You, like within the last year.

Vicki Lawrence had a hit with this in 1973 - Reba's version has more heart & soul though. One of the reasons that country music has always been one of my favourite genres is because the songs tell a story. One of the reasons I don't listen to top 40 radio anymore is that they don't. The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia was written in 1972 by songwriter Bobby Russell and first recorded by his then wife, singer, comedian, and actress Vicki Lawrence. "Fancy" is a song written and recorded by Bobbie Gentry in 1969. Both songs were very popular on the radio when Reba was a young teen. I guess you could say they left their mark on her, so she left her mark on them when she was famous.

As someone who suffers from depression, and suicidal thoughts, after becoming disabled in a workplace injury back in 2003, 6mos after getting married to my wonderful wife, I got crippled by a $hitty Dr who's "care" has given me a permanent, and progressive, nerve disease, which is slowly taking away the feeling, and the abilities to control my legs, while the damage to my spinal cord is sending false signals to my brain 🧠 telling me that my legs are on fire 🔥, or that the bones are being pulled apart from the inside, the least intrusive thing is the feeling of water 💧, or bug's are crawling up and down my legs. All I can say is "don't let the darkness win" no matter how loud it becomes. Your 6 children, and 11 grand baby's need you in this world 🌎. So please don't give in, or give up, to the darkness, your family and friends love, and need a strong matriarch for your family. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄, and happy new year 🎉!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠

The Dr's I was seeing in Wisconsin put me in a Milwaukee back brave for two yrs and I was only allowed to take it off for 1 hr a day. Well long story short, it caused my spine to curve worse and now my spine is a backward S... I have a 60 by 60 degree curve. I've had to have 3 surgeries on it.. I'm 50 years old and I've been totally disabled pretty much my whole life... so I understand what your talking about with your legs trouble.... but I pray you get better or more comfortable... but I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Merry Christmas sir and I hope you can have a great Christmas.

Have they been able to do anything but strutting [fusing the spine with rod's, and 🔩 screws] your back because of the scoliosis? With ALL the medical advancements in the last 50yrs have they [Dr's] even tried anything else? My faith in the medical profession has ALWAYS been rather low, but after my back situation it became almost non-existent! My wife has 8 blown disc's in her neck [C] and upper back [T] and has been forced to retire since 2011 from her ex-husband hit her with a car while she was 8mos pregnant 🤰 with who is now MY daughter. She's afraid of the Dr's screwing up, and leaving her in even more pain, and more loss, of feeling, and control, over her arm's! So she won't do the surgeries they want out of fear, from my back surgery! I'll pray 🙏 for us ALL, In hope's of relief! God bless 🙌 you and yours this holiday season!..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠

Actually in an interview Vicki says the song was written by her at the time husband and he hated it. She told him she loved it so he told her to record it
