Having done Sa Calobra a few times, we always follow our friend Rob's advice and get there REALLY early. We're normally the first people down the hill and just getting to the bottom as the cafe opens! Then you get a coach and car free descent, and a nice quiet climb - the coaches are such a hindrance on that road. And there's something really gratifying about seeing EVERYONE arrive - cars and bikes - and knowing you've already done it. Yes, it does mean setting off really early, but honestly, it's worth it!
Oh agree, so LOVELY!!! Thank you for sharing! Spring (or summer) is finally here!! Love the beautiful weather and scenery. It was worth it going thru all those dark wet days for training.

Hi, Katie! Just a couple of questions and a suggestion.... re yr stats, why the question marks after Distance and Elevation? Also, is the 1,968 metres the height of Sa Calobra or the total climbing you've done in Majorca? The suggestion is about wind noise in videos. There is a simple solution, which just requires a little experimentation. Try cutting up some foam wound-dressing and sticking it over the microphone on yr video camera. It may be possible that just a couple of thicknesses of Band-Aid will suffice. Great video, by the way!
HI Katie. 5 of us are going to Majorca next year and want to do this. Is it something that 50 + year olds can do? We are not super fit but have done things like CTC going over Hartside and Garrigil etc. Do you think this is something we could manage?
Hmm... going down is also part of the fun, I'm never taking risks while descending but if cars or motorbikes are going too slow, I'll pass them without remorse !
These Kamikaze riders probably overloaded with far to much testosterone are to be steered well clear of... Racing the descents on the limit with no prizes on offer at the bottom either... Places like Majorca, an even worse place to do it as well with loads of hire cars out and about with nervous drivers probably driving on roads they do not know ...recipe for disaster.

Katie would you recommend staying in Pollença rather than any where else in mallorca for cycling

Kate, what camera do you use when out on the bike? Your go pro hero 5, the canon D70 or your phone?
I use a mixture but mainly GoPro 5 and recently replaced my broken Sony Rx100 V with the Canon G7X mark 2
Most of the footage in this vid was the Canon G7X mark 2

There were a few people acting like idiots but on the whole it's an incredible island with some great cycling and very friendly drivers.
Yes great place , I did the other side of the Island... Great roads and you always come back with a nice tan ! :).
