Appreciate you using the puller tool. It have several uses in shop anyway.
But simple screw driver can do the job for most cars.
The same thing, simple tapping on the new sprocket will do the job as well.

Nor so easy with a keyed sprocket. It took some work on my in-line 6 -heavy duty!

please tell me what's that key finally touching on the crank shaft
would a worn crank timing sprocket cause rattling? I replaced all timing kit except for that part and I have an idle rattle coming from above crank pulley (acc belt off)
How about putting it back on? Just tap with a mallet and circular tube perhaps

Why is every one else's sprocket a .002 pinch, and mines about .030? Mine won't budge with oxy/acet. and an electric impact gun. Can't figure a way to get a crankshaft in my 12 ton press. Beams too small.
You must have taken it out before you recorded this video. That was way too easy.

Try that on a 1970 bmw m10 sprocket dude. Inside dimensions smaller than crank and put on with heat. Unless you run a 1mm cut line along through it, your puller would have zero chance. How do i know because I tried with and exhaust clamp around the sprocket and used a 15 tonne puller
James Barratt I have been viewing several videos on TH-cam just to get an idea as to how to remove this kind of sprocket on my 1972 bmw M10 crankshaft. I just read your comment and looks like you have been down this road. I have no idea how to get in touch with you but would be great to get some tips from you before I start. It might save me some grief.
