Thank you so much, my fiancé passed a couple years ago. You have no idea how much videos like this mean to me so that I can learn to do things on my own. Buying this mower now, I feel confident that I can use it!
That is “break in engine oil” and there may be bits of stuff that has worked its way into the oil you want to get out from when it was made - also the seals and everything may use some oil - so you want to not let it get low
great informative video. Just got my cub cadet for my 3 acres. can't wait to use it. question: if you run out of gas mid job and have more yard to mow, can you just turn it off and put more gas in? or, do you have a cool down time period?
You can definitely just add gas right away! I maintain 9 acres of a park in the summers and I do it every day! (with a different mower) But I do it with this mower as well.
Thanks for the tips. Not sure if it's based on opinion, but wouldn't you want to engage the PTO at mid throttle level? I thought full throttle PTO engagement will damage the belt to the pulleys. I guess it's personal preference though. I've always lowered the throttle all the way down to turtle before turning off the mower. Again, personal preference I guess lol I've also heard the oil drain tube can be prone to leaks. I've seen where you can replace it with a John Deere part #AM131611 oil drain tube instead because it uses the same threads and makes it easier to drain the oil and the cap that is on the tube is made better quality.
Yeah, I believe it should be in high throttle before you engage the PTO. I've actually made a part like that John Deere spout before in one of my videos: th-cam.com/video/9qwxmas3ucw/w-d-xo.html And yes, I'm not a huge fan of the yellow plastic drain valves. They don't last very long.
