@@cluckleberryfarm7244 oh I’m sorry to hear that, truly am. My dad died when I turned 7 of lung cancer from smoking, he just wouldn’t quit never had the chance to meet him growing up, he was still in Saigon, Vietnam while my family & I were already in the U.S brought here by my uncle. I wonder all the time what it must be like to have a dad, father figure role in your life, I was raised by my mom. My only wish is one day to have a happy family, wife & kids of my own one day before I’m 30 when I’m settled in my career to give them all the love I wish I had & wanted to know what it must’ve felt like. Still feels like the only missing piece of a puzzle all these years that have passed by in my twenties now.

Cherish your dad even when he says mean stuff to you and calls you all those names. My dad once said to my older brother (back when he was little) *I hate you*, yes my dad said that to my brother. My brother showed nothing but love to my dad and unfortunately my brother passed last year, My dad was recently diagnosed with clinical severe depression And I know it's all because of my brother. He regrets whatever he did/said to him back then, all because he couldn't express his feelings to his son. The day of my brothers funeral my dad wrote him a note which said "you always said please and thank you, you were so kind, and the last time I saw you, you shook my hand and said ''dad, i love you'' I said to you ''Why? I haven't done anything for you to say that'' and you just said ''it doesn't matter, I love you."... I think my dad replays those words over and over again. Just show your dad and tell him you love him, he probably needs to hear it. Some fathers never know how to love their sons because their dads never showed them love. ❤

Don't be mad at him, he probably lacked a father figure himself. Could he be better? Yes. He didn't have the willpower. If you do, change for your kids, break the cycle. But never blame your parents for your own failures. Good luck. We're on the same boat, by the way. I just had a hard time dealing with the blame game. It doesn't matter, results matter.

a few months after my mum died in an accident my father caused when I was 16 and my brother was 14 he stopped caring for us to be with his new girlfriend....we suddenly basically lived without parents, my father came home very late at night and left very early in the morning and always complained about how the house looked and about our behaviour...we were just kids with high academic goals in an emotionally stressed environment and didn't really care if the dishes stood for 2-3 days before we cleaned them and we were def. not able to keep the entire house cleaned and our shirts ironed...We have not had a relationship with our father in a time in which we should have learned about cars and shaving and tying ties and we learned everything we know from the internet. So this right here is so important and it not only helps with learning the tasks we can't do but it also helps to not see the evil guy in every male/ father and see how lovingly someone can care for a community that he doesn't even know...This is gold. This is what the world needs.

My dad wasn’t around and had the internet and this site existed back when we were growing up, I think my brother would have been a fan.

Fatherless since I were 4/5-ish. My mother did try to do both roles, I feel she was influenced from her father by awfully bad morals.
The men that were briefly in my frame had effort, I taken for granted, and I never realized until I watched this.
I was taught by the men who were around. How to swim, tie a tie, shave, brew coffee, morning fitness, how to safely walk around streets, to be respectful and kind.
I saw this, and it emotionally took a toll on me. I wish I can thank them for doing what you do, and I can finally say thank you for all you do.

I’ve come here from Instagram. My real dad isn’t in my life, and my stepdad is always gone from home working. I’ve spent my entire life without a father figure in my home raising me, many things I learned to do on my own. And always fucked them up trying to figure out. I fill in my dads shoes while he’s away for my mom. But I wished many times I had someone to tell me how to do certain things right, thank you for this. Lots of kids and even older teens and adults could use these.
