As someone without a father figure in my life, these videos are a godsend. I've been using the half Windsor for years, but have the biggest interview of my life later this week (An internship interview with the 3rd largest company in the world in my field) I wanted to learn a more professional tying technique and was able to pull this off after watching the video twice and tinkering with it for a few minutes!
I'm so glad to hear that this has been helpful and I really appreciate your kind words! Congratulations on landing an interview with such a prestigious company for your internship. Best of luck with the interview 👍
I’ve been watching a bunch of TH-cam videos on how to tie a tie, but all my efforts have resulted into mediocre looks as there’s always that one small detail that pops out like a huge pimple. Now that I watched this video and did it, I am very satisfied on how it looks. You video by far helped me ALOT!
That's so great to hear! Tying a tie can indeed be tricky, but I'm glad this made the process a little easier. Thanks for your support, and happy tying 👍
I never thought I could do it until I saw this video, other tie videos have millions of views and they don’t do a very good job. On the other hand your tutorial gets 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
many thanks to you, you just saved me from stress on how to tie a tie properly for my Son. Very easy to follow indeed, I am now a Pro and I am so proud of myself too🥰🥰🥰
I wish I watched this last week before I went on a job interview. I was using a tie my dad did up for me that was falling apart a bit and I had to make due and make it look as neat as possible. My dad is no longer with us (He has passed) for me to ask. This is an awesome video. Thank you Thank you Thank you!! 🙂
Hi! Thank you for such a simple easy video to follow along. As a mother I had no idea how to do it- it was my first time tying a knot for my son’s middle school dance.
I watched your earlier vid from years ago and learned how. This new one explains beginning steps in a little more detail and uses a tie with better contrast for ease of direction. Bravo! Good job on both. I recommend to the novice to watch the dark tie vid first then this one with speed setting at 75% and you'll master it first time. Well done!
Thank you for your video. My son just started highschool and he was struggling to make a windsor knot for highschool. We watch couple videos but he still cannt do it until we found your video.
I'm about to start my MBA, I've never felt the requirement of using a tie till date. This is the first time I'm learning to do it myself. I can't thank you enough.
Thank you, I needed to learn this for my first day at highschool. I don't have a dad to teach me and my mom and sister don't know how to tie a tie. Really helped!
I'm so glad to hear that the tutorial was useful for you, especially on such an important day. Wishing you all the best as you start your journey in high school! 😀 👍
Great question! The Eldridge is one of those knots that uses up most of the thin-end of the tie. If there's enough surplus length left over on the thin-end (which you'd normally have tucked underneath your collar), you should be able to loosen the knot just enough so that you can lift the whole tie over your head while it's still knotted. Hope this helps.
@@defragmenteur808I guessed that it had to be done this way so i took the easy way through it by making the best eldridege knot i can make then made it permanent with a few pins then replace the excess thin end with elastic band! Tested it with a white shirt(school uniform) it it looks good can't even tell that it's held by an elastic by! Thansk for the help anyway!
@defragmenteur808 I have been wearing a tie at least 2x a month for the last few years, but always have to rewatch a video. I can tie 12 different knots with rope, but for some reason I can never remember this. Cheers!
Help me! When it’s tied, the narrow part is double the length of the wide part… They only have one size available at the shop, any advice? And I need THIS specific one for school, or I get a detention 😭
When this happens, it's usually due to the starting position of your tie when you first drape it over your neck. As a general rule, I recommend starting out with the wide end of the tie sitting about twice as low as the thin end - like I demonstrate here 0:19 . This works for most people. Having said that though, we all come in different shapes and sizes. No two individuals have the same body structure. So it might take a little trial-and-error to get your starting position right. If you’re built like Mike Tyson, then you might need to experiment with this a little. But I would consider that a good problem to have 😀 If your tie is shorter than the standard length, then you may need to adjust for that in your starting position - for example by starting out with the wide end 3 or 4 times longer than the thin end. Hope this helps 👍
When this happens, it's usually due to one of two reasons: (1) There may not have been enough length on the wide end when you started out. I sometimes get caught out by this too. The 3:1 ratio I mention in the video is a general guide. Our bodies come in a myriad of different configurations. No two individuals share the exact same body structure. It might take a little trial and error to get the starting position right. If you’re built like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, then you might need to experiment with this a little. But I would consider that a good problem to have 😀 (2) It could be due to the length of the tie. If it's shorter than the standard length, you may need to adjust for that in your starting position (perhaps 4:1 or 5:1 rather than 3:1). Hope this helps 👍

Great question! The Eldridge is one of those knots that uses up most of the thin-end of the tie.
