    Excellent video Harry on how to make a proper swing with driver! One thing that I have been trying to do is once my hips reach their maximum depth in the backswing, I have been trying to spring off of this into my downswing. I don't know if it's similar to what you are promoting or not. I know that loose is better than rigid! If there's any tightness in the body during the swing, it can tremendously affect the outcome of the shot. Well Done Harry!

      Thanks John, yes the two concepts you're talking about are very similar.

    Wow, 105 mph clubhead speed with the minimal effort of that first swing. That's remarkable. I see arm swings like that all the time on the course, but never that kind of result.

      Thank you, my normal swing speed once fully warmed up is around 125 mark i would say but like I said in the video, it's about the difference and the distance you'll gain from this. Hows your golf going?

    You got a new US sub from this well done video! A couple of questions...1. how do you keep the left arm straight while staying relaxed during the backswing? 2. Where on your right foot should the pressure go when you start the backswing? 3. Do you consider the shift of pressure to the right a "trigger" to start your swing, similar to what Henrik Stenson does? 4. Tempo, do you like to see a speed/tempo of 1:1 backswing and downswing, or a 2 going back and a 1 starting down? I hope your channel continues to grow!

      Thank you, so for Q1 as long as your rotating into the backswing you should be able to just keep your lead arm straight (not hyper extended), if you’re not used ti doing this you may have to consciously think about this before it becomes a subconscious action taking place in the swing. Q2 the pressure moving (the majority) into the trail side is a gradual movement the further back you go in the swing. Q3 trigger for the trail foot, yes in conjunction with the squat before hand. If there’s anything I’ve missed… use the zoom call link in the description, plus we can discuss what you’d like to achieve this year and how I can help you.

    Another great video Harry! I’m glad I came across your channel! You explain it in a way that everyone can understand and learn it slowly! Thanks!

      Thank you, great to read you found it this driver move interesting, have you managed to give this a try yet?

    Harry, I've applied these moves a couple of months ago, but I can't combine it with hitting up on the ball (starting with shoulder tilt at setup). How would that work? Now personally I don't mind too much really, as I've been not hitting up for 20 years (until a pro told me last year) and these find the fairway normally. It's just that if I hit up I get more distance (likely because of less spin).

      Hi thanks again for commenting with your thoughts, i would advise that you maybe change your address ever so slightly so the club is more from the front of the stance to encourage more of the upward motion, maybe focusing on taking the club back nice and low also will encourage the low point to be earlier in the arc and therefore hit more up with driver. Hope these help.

      @pbode1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Will try! mind you, because of a relative narrow stance (I feel this helps me to rotate forwards better and force me to balance my weight properly), I already place the ball on my lead big toe, because that lines up with my left armpit. So it sounds a bit awkward to put it even further forward, but I'll try. If I force my head to remain behind the ball (has to feel like a lot), that helps me to hit up, at least if I resist the urge to let my hips 'outspin' everything else (a strange by-effect?) because that tends to produce a (normally rare) slice as my launch monitor clearly shows I throw the face wide open in these cases.

    • @harryshawgolf
      @harryshawgolf  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if we place the ball position too far forward for your golf swing (depending on the path and face angle number changes) it'll encourage a more out to in path and close the face angle down a little more, so if you're path is swinging more out to in (left) than the face angle is pointing (assuming a right handed player) it'll curve off to the right.

    Hi nice video, I’m finding the downswing move easy to achieve with the irons but with the driver I’m struggling with this, I can tell from the strike being off centre usually out the top but. Is there anything I need to be aware of when using driver to help this?

    • @harryshawgolf
      @harryshawgolf  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Charlie, thanks for reaching out regarding this, I've already taken note and have produced a video on this for you to watch, feel free to take a look!

    You should definitely have spent more time demonstrating the driver downswing. You've covered the whole impulse and impulse thing before. Come on man!

      Thanks for commenting, I appreciate your input on how I can improve the video, the move for the driver is literally the same with the irons - just more exaggerate as I point out in this video. Easier to begin with irons and work your way up. Have you managed to give this a try yet?

    • @sensa123
      @sensa123 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @harryshawgolf totally get it Harry. You're a good coach. I've obviously watched your videos and hence I know about the impulse to impulse bit. I struggle with the driver and thought that a 20 min video would give me great insight hence my comment mate

      @harryshawgolf I tried the impulse to impulse drill and it works like magic but I can't get on plane despite your trail arm trick 😪 my lower back is stiff hence...any drills for swing plane? I'm too steep so my hands get too active

      @harryshawgolf  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Makes sense, thanks for clarifying this, I’ll look into producing more content specifically based on the driver (maybe a little warm up with irons to recommend viewers) but then straight to driver.
