Hi, pleased to read you’ve found my coaching explanations Simple to understand. More content coming your way every Tuesday and Friday… eventually hoping to post on Sundays too!
Love how much you’ve broken this swing down in to many small parts, it’s all about the ‘details’ 👌🏼 Can’t wait to work on this down the range - thanks 🙏🏼
Hi Courtney, thanks for commenting pleased you enjoyed the broken-down details on teh video, more like this to come. Feel free to let me know how you get on with this by contacting me on my website!
Great explanation and demonstration. I see a lot of myself in your examples of not getting the timing right- shifting the weight forward and thereby creating a counter reaction and early extension, rotating the hips too much and thereby inadvertently coming around and over the top, etc. I’m going to work on the movements and thought patterns as you’ve explained them and see what happens. That squatting move is especially challenging but I’m going to work on it. 😊
Hi Matt, thanks for commenting, pleased you've enjoyed the video. And it's also great to read you can relate to yourself/ swing from this as it's a great indication that these drills to change and improve this will help you improve your game. Persevere with this, and keep me posted by commenting on new videos - also, if you ever need a check-up personally from me you can reach out to me on Skillest... where you can send me your swing... link is in the description of the video.

I also love the break down and the drills to ingrain the movements! I can see how well it would work pre game or even in the middle of holes or shots if something has thrown you off your game. I was in a very serious crash a couple years ago, and I'm not getting any younger. Slowly I'm getting back into it, I started out 9 holes at a pitch and putt. Now I'm doing all 18 lol, breaking a sweat too. These drills are a great tool to get back the movements that I once took for granted. Thank you so much!
Hi John, it’s inspiring to read your story getting back into the game after your car accident. Thanks for reaching out, I’m very pleased this is helping you improve your game and get back into the swing of things. Good on you for playing the full 18 holes now! It’s great to read you’ve tried the squatting move and the hand movement. Absolutely, more videos coming your way ever Tuesday and Friday. Have you managed to give this a try at the range yet?
Execllent video, and a revelation about ground forces , rather than the usual weight shift recommendations that are hard to follow. Definitely do a follow up.

@@harryshawgolfI played 9 holes yesterday Harry. I then went to the track man range to try and make sense of my distances. I struck my irons great and have good distance with my short, mid and long irons. However, this is not translating into driver distance.
Really great explanation on swing speed increase. I have been told that ground force is essential but this is the first time ive fully grasped the concept. Im swing my short orange whip in front of the tv and i can feel the difference straight away. Cheers looking forward to more content.
Hi, thanks for commenting, I’m pleased to read you’ve been able to grasp the concept of the ground reaction forces in our swing, and how we should be producing them, is the short orange whip some sort’ve training aid to help build speed?
It's a tempo swing trainer. Flexible shaft with a heavy tennis ball sized ball on the end. Come in driver length as well. I like the short one to use inside, can do full swings and feels like your swinging a real club.
Oh, that makes sense yes I've seen those before, that's a very interesting training aid to use for this, something I haven't thought of before, how has it felt using this?
Thanks. Well presented. I am interested in the follow-up. If I don't warm up before playing it takes me 5 or 6 holes to get my body in sync. First driver swings are always low hooks, path is ok, but clubface closed. Then comes right.
Hi Phil, thanks for commenting, I’ll take not of this to add into the next step (follow up video if we hit over 10 comments). Do you find this is mainly with the longer clubs? Or just the driver?
Great video. Really helped clarify the shift from the drop down of the lead leg to gain ground force. The shift back to 50/50 happens naturally for me now as my centers realign. But Ive been bypassing the critical move for ground force of dropping down a bit on the lead leg to really push off into the rotation. Very helpful. I would love to see the follow up. Thanks.
Hi, thanks for commenting, very pleased you've been able to get some simple tips for your swing using the info from this video, I'm hoping to plan this follow-up video very soon. But will keep you posted. Have you managed to give this a try at the driving range?
Great Video Harry on swing speed! Like to see a followup on how to increase it more. Well done especially sitting on right leg and then whipping it through.
When I was younger I was known as a long driver by my playing partners. I used to go to the range and hit nothing but the driver. I was always looking to hit it the absolute best that I could. I found out to increase my swing speed, I would get into a rhythm at 75-80 percent speed and then “ramp up” the speed at which I was swinging. If I got out of sequence, I would ease back until I got back in rhythm then try again. You have to be a little fearless to gain speed. You’re going to hit some bad shots when you try to hit it hard, but it sure is fun when you get it right.
Totally agree, when attempting to max out speed it’s important to complete forget about the technical aspects of the swing unless it’s to do with helping you gain More speed (working the ground more and whipping the club). How’s your golf going?

Does this still make sense since I am only initiating the squat in the last half of the backswing after parrallel?
Hi, thanks for commenting, i would delay the squat until you get to the very top of your backswing, this is because when we bring this in during any point of the backswing, we don't initiate the lower body as efficiently during the downswing. Hope this makes sense, if you'd like me to explain further, I'd be more than happy to arrange a zoom call to discuss how we can get the lower body working at the correct point.

Brilliant, I’ll take note, how’s your golf going?
@@harryshawgolf actually just got back from a golf trip with friends in Fl, 5 days of golf. As I worked into a better rhythm for week, each day got better. Highlight of the week while I was on course practicing, hit a 7 iron to 10 feet from 180, and on the second ball I holed it out 😀! So hope that’s a good sign of things to come this year! Keep up the great content!
That's amazing to read, wow, congratulations on the hole out, more content to come!
