The 'Basic Board 1' HX Effects patch is designed to replace an entire pedalboard and provide the essential effects needed for modern worship music.
The patch includes: Compression, Drive, Delay, and Reverb.

This is an awesome patch. I'd like to see more patches with expression pedal usage and maybe midi programming with the kemper, like unlocking the full potential of both devices. I've only gotten as far as assigning the clean boost from my kemper to a footswitch on my hx. but i think it'd be cool to do other stuff with it too.

First off let me say that you guys provide a lot of great information for worship as well as patches. I haven't played in worship for a few years and getting back on a team. I have an HX effects that i use in the the effects loop of a Blackstar HT 20 MK 2 a couple of analog overdrives. It works great for my Christian rock group because the amp has great natural distortion. I was thinking for worship to get an iridium or joyo preamp house to go straight into the board to eliminate stage noise. First how well does the HX effects take an overdrive if setting up all effects going into the front of an amp/pedalboard amp or should I always run the HX effects through an effects loop? Just trying to figure out the best way to use the HX effects to sound good in worship. Thanks ahead of time. Thank you for caring about making worship the best it can be. Andrew.

If the Kemper is so great, why aren't you using IT'S drives & effects rather than the HXeffects front end??
We use Kemper as a stand-alone unit all the time. This video is intended to show off what the HX Effects can do into an amp.
Perhaps silly question - how do you mount your Hx effects to that board??

Bradford Mitchell If I were to buy the Line 6 Helix and wanted to play through some studio monitors, what are some options of pre amps I can buy? I remember seeing in a video ya'll hook it up to an apollo twin, but I was wondering if there were other interfaces/pre amps I could use
Tyler Lillemon the Apollo is an interface. It just lets us get into Logic and spits it out our monitors. The Apollo is a professional piece of equipment. Obviously not required and not necessary or great tones. Focusrite makes great stuff on the cheap!
Cool. I remember watching the video and Brian mentioning not to just practice at home with headphones on, but to plug the Helix into a preamp then into the monitors, similar to what you would do if your playing live at church. So the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for $149 on Sweetwater website would be good for me to run the Helix into and then the studio monitors? And do you have any recommendations in studio monitors? I'm looking to spend around $400 for a pair.
Tyler Lillemon Yamaha makes some great ones. HS5s or HS8s. Or KRK Rokits are great! Whatever you can find used or new in your price range!

Hey guys, just got my HX Effects in the mail yesterday! I've been devouring your videos for weeks :D. Quick question for you based on this video - do you find it optimal to plug the guitar directly into the expression pedal, and then out into the HX? I mean, I heard nothing wrong with those swells, I just assumed the expression pedal would go into one of those inputs on the HX with the guitar plugged direct into the unit, and then put it where you want it in the signal flow. Thanks for your time, and for these awesome videos! You're saving me a bunch of setup time!

With this pedal, do you guys run the delays & reverbs in an FX loop, so that time based effects don't get distorted by the preamp of the Kemper?

Question: the swell preset turns off the other pedals while activating the verbs?
No unless you turn off the other pedals, if you press the swells preset it will stay on with all the other on-effects, it's not a chain where like you said you press a preset to on and then offs another preset

Hey Paul - HX Effects patches will not work on Helix, but all our Helix patches will do everything this does plus more.
Is it possible to use the HX Effects (as overdrive) together with the Bigsky and Timeline?
I sold my Timeline so I could buy the HX Effects. I feel that the HX has all the delays I need, but I could never part with my BigSky, so I'm working on a patch for worship that uses the HX Effects to midi control the BigSky. So yes, it's very possible. What do you want to do?

@@leonardonunes3549 It will work for that. You can load up to 9 distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedals and set up different presets, so you'll have a lot of tone options.

Is this all shot on the Fuji XH-1 ? Also where can i get the LUT you used ?
It is! I didn't use any LUTs. I used the Eterna film simulation and just did a very basic grade in Resolve. Added some contrast and saturation, tweaked white balance a bit, and done. So much easier than with the old Sony stuff I was using :).
Wow! It looks Wonderful! You say old Sony stuff. I doubt the Sony A9 is old Sony Stuff. :p Plus i recall a Blackmagic also. Is the XH-1 that good? I was totally pumped for the XH-1 but then the Sony A7M3 came out. Consider doing a Video Production Tutorial Sometime. An Updated one. Thanks!

You have to plug your guitar into the output of the HX Effects, then out of the input into your amp. And always always always play the guitar (preferably a Dean Split Tail) behind your head. And everything should be on eleven. Hope that helps.
And stick out your tongue. It improves the tone immensely.
That is a Chinese knockoff Suhr... I have seen so many with that S slightly too far to the left.
