most of the time im having a lot of fun, but then one of these absurd things happen which puts me at 12'th place on the last f*cking lap.
As a champ -unreal racer my biggest complaint is the drafting I think it's completely unfair that someone who uses a total of 9 turbos in a race and picks all the right line and never hits anything or looses any speed can loose to a pack of racers drafting of each other and saving there 3 tubors for the last lap that to me is a machanic that needs to be fix and yes I'v done this on some races my self and that's why I'm saying it from experience from being in a pack to playing a perfect race in first this happens why to much.
Elite rank here. I was gaming until ranked got so busted that I started losing progress placing 1-4. It's not as bad now with the patch, but let me say I sadly am part of the problem in this comment and yet I completely agree. I cannot be proud of my shitty rank in this game where the strategy is blow every turbo at the last second. I was like you up till Diamond 1, but then decided to enter my villain arc.
I may be among the top 200 racers in this game with Elite... But I am for sure not proud of it. What kind of flex is it to say that you are amazing at the most jank racing game of the year? This Elite badge be feeling like a participation award lmao.

To be fair to Epic this is only season 0. It’s essentially a beta test. It wasn’t fair to rocket league players to take away trading and for no new updates to happen but it’s not like it’s a trash pit. It’s a decent game that needs a lot of fine tuning but it has potential. Another issue that I feel that should be included is the progression in the game. I had no problem with the progression in platinum but now that I’m in Diamond III, you get maybe 3% for coming in first place. That means it would take 33 matches just to go up one rank and that is if you place first every race.
My problem with this game is that you can literally never place 1st, theres been so many situations where I'm coming first with no one in front of me and no one behind me but still manage to come 2nd, 3rd or 4th? Literally makes no sense to me at all.

Skill issue.
The only things I find bad about it are AFK, collision, and the fact that there's a lack of creativity. All hazards are red/orange circles or rectangles and do the same thing: slow you down. All speed boosts are speed pads and do the same thing: speed you up. I would have preferred more creativity among these similar to Mario Kart. I can easily imagine this happening in the future. We gotta give it to epic, it's season zero.
I fully agree with your views on Rocket Racing rn. I’m not sure who’s video I watched before you that explained that Season Zero is pretty much the beta release and it’s just EpicGames getting feedback and problems they should fix so that season 1 will be amazing. I hope this doesn’t completely turn off anyone cause I believe RR is gonna be something big and fun both competitively and just casually
At a certain point in rocket racing the game becomes an obstacle course because the devs decided to just spam the slow down zone and call it “Expert Tracks”. The bumper car gameplay is chaotic and unfun and mostly just kills any boost you may have saved up. All of this combined with terrible collision just kills Rocket Racing for me.
Only point I'm missing is that the controls aren't inverted when you're upside down. Cofuses the shit outta both me who has thousands of hours in RL, and my little brother who has never played RL

Funnily enough, they are. The game just never let's you know when they invert, you could be completely upside down and the game doesn't register that you are upside down, and thus doesn't invert your controls, leading you to drive the wrong way and fall of the track.
There are settings already for inverting I’m almost positive. Not sure where it’s at but maybe look.
@@Dezidicus it’s unlike rocket league. in racing, if inverted, car moves where joystick moves, left or right. moving the joystick to the left will cause the car to go left, not right, which is logical.
One of my major problems with rocket racing is the controls, driving is incredibly slippering and hard to control, its near impossible to drive in tight spaces (which you have to if you wanna do most shortcuts) because it feels like you're driving on ice. Turning shouldn't force you into a drift if there's already a button to make you drift. Plus, drifting and air dodging shouldn't use the same button by default.

Personally I think the overall feel and speed is good on the cars because once your in a rhythm you tend to keep that pace up. The issue is the slow down sections and the upside down and random shortcuts. All that is what causes a crossing of lines and a separation from the true essence of racing!
Real racing tracks, yes a little bit more undulation if you want to get sneaky but otherwise, make it so you have to go slower as well as faster! And make the brakes less pronounced so you can actually use them etc.
Collision is still an issue and needs to be removed entirely. One small bump and i get launched away,it's ridiculous. You do multiple clean drifts in a row and little timmy hits you slightly and you get slammed into a wall.
Then there's the boost you get from drifing just disappears when you leave the ground for a millisecond. I lost my placement because i HAD TO DRIFT and then had to jump to hit a boost pad. Could've won if my drift boost wasn't taken away from me cuz i didn't drive straight forward for 2 secs.
And then there is the leaderboard bug. An Omni-Man was hugging my rear wheel til the finish line and yet he got my placement when i finished infront of him. This happens sooo many times it's annoying,you finish clearly infront of someone,the leaderboard at the top right of your screen changes to that placement and then you finish the race and suddenly are in a different,worse placement while the person behind you somehow has finished a second infront of you when they haven't.
there's one problem the ranking up is super slow getting to gold rank will take forever trash mode R.I.P free skin
I felt similar when first learning to play the game but now I understand it and everything makes sense

I hate how whenever I’m done with the game I click R1 to see my rank then it says “this is talking longer the usual” or whatever I hate it because I’m a competitive player in rocket racing
The really need to fix the collision problems
This game has alot of jank. I had to leave a match cause I was getting tired of being in the lead for just a moment only for a person to just speed past and then i can never catch up. You can play perfect and the game will say you are not worthy. Then there is the thing of the car that you took the time to choose be changed to the default every game unless you crash and then it says its ok for you to play with the car. Its only then where tracks you have done alright on messes you up with the auto drifting, random flips, hell I had ran into an obstacle and when it slowed me down it also forced me to not have control over my car.
I don't like all the built-in shortcuts that force you to leave the track. In my opinion, racing should be about who is fastest on the track through tight cornering, optimal lines, and well-timed boosts. The race shouldn't be about navigating to some secret hidden boost pad they put on a wall or under the track somewhere to give you an advantage. I also hate the edges of the track making you slow down. Why are there guardrails on the edge of the road if nobody is going to be pushing the limit to get as close to them as possible.
On problem iv notice with this game is that match makes you in to ranked racing instead don non ranked it should be similar how br work you choose weather to ready in to ranked or non ranked from main screen

Yea well this doesn't help when there throwing robot racer in to the entire ranked system is disgusting the amount of robots that try shoving me off the track they even get slight ingrown of you and then turn side way so you end up flipping and crashing them they some how have more speed and end up in front of player that are way ahead of them whilst your wait to respond and you end up speed 0 and at this point I just end up leaving the race it infuriating and it need to stop
Whats missing is the need to fix the collision mechanics
The game truly is a buggy mess. I've gone flying in random directions, parts of the track are clipping through itself, and I run into them, or get stuck all the time. Still fun though, just wish it wasn't Ranked only
I played Mario kart deluxe a million hours and rocket league too but I’ll only play rl for now on for the daily xp then dip after about two or three matches
The skill ceiling is big in RR

This did not replace rocket league, they didn't abandon it, Rocket League is still getting updates.
They didnt forget about rocket league, theres just nothing left to change its such a simple game with good mechanics
Im playing on a nintendo switch and its just pain. I permanently get framedrops to 15 or sometimes even 10 fps. And for some reason at the start, i ALWAYS get placed on the last four places which makes it pretty hard to get to the front. Somehow i still managed to get to diamond 2 but the games are more annoying and frustrating than fun.
I love Rocket Racing, but please fix the gravity/physics in the Lamborghini. [Edit: Wow I only typed this 51 minutes ago? It seems longer. It’s 5:14 PST on New Years Eve by the way.]

The game is in early access and everyone on the epic team is taking holidays which they deserve so idk if I agree with all of these particularly the bad launch cause the full game hasn’t actually launched yet but I still enjoyed watching and will continue to watch.

I searched rocket racing to see if anyone had the same view as me, you have said everything I was thinking. Also what’s with the cars behind being faster than the cars in front, it’s weird.
My ONLY problem with rocket racing is the f'ing collision!! In ALMOST every match, my whole race gets screwed up by other players ramming into me. This gamemode would be 100x better if they removed vehicle collision and let the truly best racer win...
and yeah how could I forget, the matchmaking is so ass like I literally end up in endless minutes that would turn into hours. I'd be lucky to find 3 back to back races smh
did they fix alot of these issues since you posted this video, or am i just not understanding what your yapping about? I'm only diamond 1 which isnt super high ranks, but i definitely feel like what you said about collision, and the "starting at the head of the pack makes it easier to win" are just not true or better now. and the getting turned around in the tunnels is a skill issue? Base speed is fine bro, drift up

I actually submit a report for three bugs I found on Android on mobile and the thing is I never got a response. The ticket was immediately closed by the other end. I got no response. If the bugs were getting fixed or I was just straight up ignored. It's really really stupid. I report bugs to epic to try to save Rocket Racing only just to get shut up when I don't get any response
I pray to God that next time when I do a report that they respond so that I have a bit of an understanding of what's going on behind the curtain
Ya its really a shit show. Even when u master the tracks, the whole bumper car nonsense and rediculous amount of red slow down obstacles just kill the experience
I’m currently in champion and 90 percent of my races are 8 or less people. Everyone for the most part goes the same ways causing us to bump and lose our lines and get pushed into death zones, and ONE mistake causes a last or second to last finish because eveyrone in the race is just that good. And getting 6 place or worse can make you lose upwards of 5 percent from my experience. And when it’s so difficult to get top 3 consistently at that level, losing so many points for one mistake is so disheartening and makes me not want to grind to unreal anymore.
not true! i crashed right off the start and was in last place, i was able to catch up and be neck and neck with the first place player, if i didnt have to use all my turbos just to catch up i know i would have easily been able to win the race. dont give up just because u crash, other people make mistakes too or become relaxed and too comfortable and let their guard down, i can tell you without a doubt that a crash does not guarantee your getting last place, thats only happening and guaranteed if you quit the race! you dont have to grind anything if u dont want to, what should happen when your the the top rank? you should be punished more for mistakes, your at the top of the ranking system, your the best of the best, thats called competitive, play a mode where you dont lose points then or continue to play at the competitive level, with the best of the best and get better learning from your mistakes!
@@s7evinkelevras yeah. You crashed right at the start. And got rubber banded back to the top. That doesn’t work when every racer is within 1.5 seconds of each other and you get pushed and crash on the last lap. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Are not allowed to leave the race anymore? Sometimes you’re so far behind or the game decides to screw you over you wanna quit the match. It’s really not worth finishing the race and I only play for xp not fun because it isn’t. I just wanna go to the next race

Anyone have issues using multiple monitors on a PC? If I drift off-screen with my mouse and try to jump, it selects a different window. How can I lock the window when I'm playing if I'm already Fullscreen?

In Ranked the Opponents should be Ghosts so they cant crash into you to turn you in tunnels or something like that.

thats only in higher ranks, just because there is less people in there so it takes longer to fid enough opponents. that will go away when more people hit those ranks

Oh yes, the oversteer in the tunnels like in Sidewinder and how easy you can do a full 180° and turn around really turns me off 😵💀 That's what annoys me the most, along with getting rammed constantly by other players in curves...
I made it to Platinum 1. 85% to 2. Not a fan of the loop t loop tracks the controls are backwards and I get spun around going the wrong way. I'm always in the back of the pack at starting line, even if I placed well last race. Speed boosts at start are a joke, you just slam into the car infront of you. Every race now I lose by 1 second get last place. We all Finnish at same time but were all off by a second. Like placing 1-3 could be 1:01.34 and all the rest of us got 1:02.00 tied example. I feel like the games beta but a good beta

Bruh, I was in a race with you twice today! I'm having some other issues. I even posted about it. I think the ranking system is broken too. I came 1st and had 7 points taken out. Yesterday I came 4th in champion lobby with 10 people and had 4 points taken out! I mean all I can say is tf!

Nice editing but I don't fully agree. Some things you said are totally true, especially the collisions being weird (although car-car collision have been adjusted in the last patch and feel a lot better). On the other hand there are some bad things you don't mention, one of the biggest being how ping and desincronization between players makes the game feel worst (game's networking is fine it's just the nature of it having to rely on the miliseconds...). On top of that what bothers me the most is how you add a little bit of extra hate to the critic.
One last thing to mention is that the game mechanics feel pretty good once you really start to master them. The footage you show on the video doesn't even show how tilting your car in the air affects air handling, you don't chain dash to build speed and boost meter (that's why it feels slow for u), and you might not even know you can hold your drift while airborne to do fancy turns with your flips or boost airborne for a little longer airtime.
Btw I'm Elite above 50% rn and stopped climbing because I have queues up to 1 hour (Latin America server)

As I’m playing the game I’ve started noticing that everyone is immediately boosting at the starting line as I’m in the front of the line and as the race starts I’m immediately in the back and everyone has the press button boost effect idk why this happens
ok im diamond 3, the only thing that bothers me is sometimes if you hit something too hard you die, sometimes the car glitches/dies onto the ground, and there are times to where you mess up and the car goes completely into the opposite way instead of automatically reseting. but all the other things you said doesn't bother me, it had me laughing a bit because of how dramatic it sounded.
I've gotten to plat 2, but I play on switch so lose a couple seconds of the race in lag at the start of every race...
So it's proper a rng grind...
They should add a casual playlist because I can't even play with my friends on RR because I'm nearly diamond 2, and they're all gold or lower which makes the game less fun for them

Anouthe rissue iv noticed is the la k of real racer in matched even from diamond 3 upward it facing up again robots with cheats and hack some just at base speed there cars are way faster😮
for me the only problems i find are collisions and the rank up system cuz you gain way less than what you should gain for winning matches in even diamond or higher

Im in Champ 85%. If you don’t get 1st place every round you’re getting almost nothing for your rank. If you decide to leave the match because the game fucked you over you lose hella progress. You lose more progress than you gain 😭
Collisions are absolutely the worst part of rocket racing. They need to atleast give us a non contact mode

Your video has returned just a bit of my peace of mind. However, this does not help my OCD, which requires that I get and complete the gold ranking! Hopefully, I can do it so that I can let my mind rest and NEVER play this game again. Whew 😂❤😊

your making a lot of points here and to some i agree with, your 100% right there needs to be a lot of tweaks made and adjustments, yes its not that competitive as of now, have you considered the fact that no game is going to be perfect upon release? a lot of issues can probably be chalked up to skill issues rather than the game, how many hours u spent playing this? you think your going to be the best just because a new game is released and that there should be some massive skill gap? it is just a newly released game, its going to take time to see what all of the issues are and make adjustments to them, thats what feedback is for, was fortnite perfect when it was released of course not! every game has issues! it will become evident who the competitive players are when the time comes down to it, of course a newly released game with a ranked mode isnt going to mean diddley squat, how do you expect it to be? all of a sudden there are experts when the majority of people havent even played the game before? going fast is the most fun and hitting an obstacle thats in the way takes the fun out of the game, funny you look at it that way! maybe your playing a course thats too hard for you if your having that much trouble running into things, that would again come down to a skill issue! ive been playing it for maybe 15 hours maybe and i have tried out all the tracks a few times and i get what your saying crashing sucks, in what racing game does crashing not suck? why is it so different here? trust me i do understand a lot of your points but you also have some unrealistic expectations!

I absolutely agree with you but there is even more shit 😂😂😂 maybe you saw that before I saw it a view times so on the start line sometimes players can drive without having a start so they are a little bit in front of you and you can't even move because the race never started and then now this so I'm in ranked elite (it was a PAIN) ok so the max limit of players is 12 right so if 12 players play the race you get like 1% when get place 7 (in diamond 3) but as soon as players leave or maybe never started so let's say you finish the race with 8 players guess what you get? Nothing!!! or maybe minus you get that 😂😂😂 if someone rage quits like 4 or 5 players rage quit you get absolutely 0% and you drove for nothing and you don't wanna know how many players are quiting in diamond rank it's pathetic you drive most of the time for 1% or 0% like wtf in elite it gets even worse there you only get 1% if hit top 5 and 1st place gets 2% like are they for real? That's are 50 races without loosing a single match you have to be always Nr 1 💀💀💀 good luck out there people I'm trying to hit unreal in 2 or 3 weeks then 😂😂😂

So chill down, slow down your horses and enjoy the very least Epic is trying to make something for everyone. If you are so good, make a game yourself, kdence.
