I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7L V6 in it....getting to the oil filter on it is a pain, you can't even really see it, let alone get your hand in there to unscrew it, and barely enough space to get a pair of oil filter pliers on it. No major issues with it other than oil changes are a bit of a pain LOL. I'd love a new Subaru Outback Wilderness but can't afford a $700+ a month payment. I just keep driving what's paid for instead LOL. My Jeep Liberty has the Selec-Trac 4WD system which gives you 2WD plus both full time and part time 4WD. I prefer the seats in the Forester, they are more comfortable for me on a long journey. Performance and economy on both is so close as to be irrelevant. Both get about 10L/100km in the city and 7L/100km on the highway. Zero to 100km/h in around 9 seconds in both. Both these cars have a full size spare on an alloy wheel in Australia. The 7 seat Honda's have a space saver and the hybrids and Forester hybrid have a repair kit. An interesting specification is that the Foresters in Australia are rated to tow 1800kg, way more than the pathetic rating in the US. I'd like to know why it is so different. One thing SWMBO and I agree upon is that we are both very pleased with our choices. Thank you for the interesting and informative videos. I have learnt a lot about my car watching you explain the features.
Hi Martin. How do you rate your experience with the Subaru service centre? I’ve gone through most dealership google reviews in Melbourne and there’s a lot of horror stories. I want to buy the current gen Outback xt sport but I’m concerned about the lack of quality customer care post purchase. Cheers.
I rate my local Subaru dealer 💯 percent plus. They have knowledgeable staff and customer service. Planet Subaru is the best dealership I have ever bought a car from.
@@SM-uy7oj I have only had the one service so far. It was fine and I have no complaints. I do find the service costs a little high. The 12,500km was $338. The next service, at 25,000km is over $650. The only additional items are changing the cabin air filter, the engine air filter and the brake fluid. I can't see how that costs and extra $300+ and I really don't think the brake fluid requires changing every two years. The Honda service is $199 annually for the first seven years. It is booked in for early January.
Foresters in the United States have a continuous variable transmission - does yours? I assume that's the towing limitation. Or maybe it's a legal thing. My Ford Focus in Europe similarly has higher tow rating than here (USA) but it's the same car mechanically I think. We have 1 trim level below the top (2019 Forester) and the speakers are very mediocre.
@@EricGlenSnyder Hi, Yes all the Foresters sold in Australia have the same CVT as your models. Perhaps there is more cooling for the transmissions in our models, I don't really know. The only mechanical difference I am aware of is that my car has vented rear disc brakes. That may be part of the reason. Also, I think in Australia, people would tow a small caravan or camper with a car like a Forester, whereas in the USA maybe people who tow would use something like a RAM, F150 or similar. Those types of trucks are sold down here after conversion to RHD. What do you think?
Good content! Just bought a '21 Forester Premium. My other option was a CRV base model which I didn't even test drive because the Subie was my primary choice. The 'Yota Rav4 that was available was twice the price! Some family members swear by Subies and they drive so comfortably. I could go on and on but basically I feel like I made the correct decision! Thanks for solidifying!
The outward view Is my favorite part. Nothing else matches, meaning I’ll never be quite happy with anything else. Everything else feels like a dungeon.
Agree, I sold my '20 CRV Touring for a '25 Forester Touring. Though the logical reasons are greater ground clearance and better traction on flooded/wet roads, there are others. Insurance costs are less with the Subaru plus the Harmon Kardon system and better sound deadening produce amazing sound! Though the CRV gave me 36-38 mpg on interstates, I'm getting 33-34 on my Forester. In town, I love the 360 camera for parking.
After owning 4 Hondas, one Civic, Accord and 2 Odysseys we purchased our first Subaru (2024 Forester Wilderness). We test drove RAV4 and CRV. The Forester had more useable rear leg room, important because we drive grandchildren around. Very happy with the purchase as it drives great and instills confidence. My dealer, Darrell Waltrip offered a free class 1 off road event. I’ve owned a Jeep wrangler in the past and although it’s car vs keep the Forester matched or beat it in the traction department. No I would not expect a car to replace a keep but the traction was exceptional. So far I would purchase another one.
I have a 2005 Subaru Outback and I've owned it since 2017. It had low KMs when I bought it for 7 grand and served me well for 7 of those years and then the head gasket went out... Tough decision as to replace it or repair it..... 4 grand for the repair!!! After countless hours looking at my options, I decided to repair it. A year later and I'm so glad I did as this winter is a brutal one with lots of snow and cold and it starts up every time and gets me to work every time!!! I had the cash so I don't owe a cent on it and it is running as perfect as it did when I bought it!
I got a Subaru outback 2025 Limited I was driving a 2012 Subaru Forrester. I kept that car did not trade in and both of them are still great cars my Forrester I keep up on all regular maintenance and I believe I can drive that thing for 300,000 miles, but I love that new 2025 outback.
My Dad has a blue 2018 Subaru Forester. It’s great! Personally, I have a 2017 Honda Accord EX-L that I just bought from the Honda dealer. It’s been an awesome car so far!
We purchased our first Subaru, a 2025 Forester & LOVE it! The visibility, digital display screen, & comfort along with safety features are why we chose it over a RAV 4. I didn’t want a Honda at all.
I have a 2024 Limited XT Outback, 2019 Ascent, and 2019 Outback Premium. I have had Subaru’s since High School. I love them. My parents have the new CRV Hybrid. I think the leather is much nicer in the CRV. I also hate the screen that you mentioned on the CRV. Also, I don’t think they know they don’t have a spare tire.
Both are excellent vehicles. Given my understanding of automotive engineering, Honda and Subaru are reputable for their excellence due to their commitment to reliability, safety, and fuel efficiency. Honda vehicles are known for their well-engineered engines and efficient use of space, providing consumers with durable, cost-effective transportation. Subaru, on the other hand, has developed its distinctive all-wheel-drive system, delivering superior traction in adverse conditions, which increases both safety and performance. Both manufacturers demonstrate consistent innovation, creating vehicles that are well-suited to the practical demands of everyday driving. Their success in the automotive industry is based not on sentiment, but on their demonstrated ability to provide solutions to specific engineering needs.
Could you make a video on how to change these newer subaru windshield wipers? I got some Michelin wipers and I cannot figure out how to get these adapters to attach to the arm of the wiper. I followed instructions and they don't work.
I can attest to the Subaru's AWD ability in the snow. Back in 2015 my brand new Subaru handled a really back snow storm we had here in MD and subsequently an unexpected ice storm that we had that shutdown a large part of Interstate 95. I love my Subaru. On my second one which is a 2020 Onyx XT. I just can't see getting anything else other than a Subaru.
A few months ago I was trying to decide between the CRV, Rogue, and the Forester. I went to the Subaru lot first, saw the CTW, test drove it and the rest is history. I fell in love and I am so glad I did not go with the others.
I hope they can provide connection to the climate and radio controls, that way we can choose to hook them up with physical buttons. I really don’t like the touch screens, you can’t tell if you’re hitting the button or not unless you look down while driving, there’s no feedback at all.
I had a CRV which never achieved the MFG that was listed on the sticker. I don’t have a Forester, but 5 months ago bought the Outback which has better mileage. Found it has more leg room in rear seats than the CRV, but slightly less cargo space than CRV
Alex you forgot to mention a big one! 😮 The Suby has the boxer engine which lowers the center of gravity despite the fact it has taller ground clearence. That is why Subys handle so much better in adverse conditions. 😊
That upcoming 2026 Passport Trailsport is checking a lot of boxes. I may be trading in my '23 Outback Wilderness for one. Will see how the test drive goes.
@ so far I really like it. I live where the Wilderness trim makes the most sense, can use the paddle shifters for descending passes and hills, and have already used the x-mode, and it sure does what it’s supposed to, does all the braking. I seem to be getting better gas mileage than the sticker says, 29.83 after 2,200 miles, and that’s with my iPhone app, not the car computer. I am also glad it doesn’t have the bigger screen, my brother has that, and it’s a hassle in my opinion.
The crv is so much nicer to look at and drive even tho I've never driven a forester (own a crosstrek) only advantage subie has is the engine. I take the 2.5 over 1.5 turbo over longevity all day long
I think subaru is going to find in the future that for safety car manufacturers will be forced to have certain controls like heater controls be actual buttons and dials to keep eyes on the road. But hey, why listen to their customers.
Helpful comparison for sure. Wrt Subaru infotainment, if Subaru ever figures out how to get that touchscreen infotainment software working responsively, that large touchscreen will become far more useable. Having to wait half a minute after engine start just to access touchscreen controls is rather pathetic.
CRV vs Outback vs Forester. Also if possible Ascent vs Pilot. Need advice for Cargo space 2nd row down. Can you do the measurements between the Wheel Wells left to right in inches. And cargo opening height up to down in inches? And length from passenger 2nd row control centre in the center to the cargo door opening length in inches? For both the cars?
I love the Forester but I want heated seats and NO moonroof. Can’t currently get that spec to my knowledge. I’m hoping the moonroof will be optional on the forester wilderness like it is on the crosstrek.
Hi, thanks for your info. Did I just see a 2025 Forester doesn’t have the classic raised roof racks??? How disappointing! I have always loved the looks and usability of my raised racks on both my Outback and my Forester.
Been hearing that the CRV and RAV4 aren’t doing as well, and quality/reliability just isn’t there like years past……Im not surprised. Viva Subaru for the win🏆❤️
Hey Alex, Why does the 2025 Forester Touring not include the Compass or HomeLink buttons on its Smart Rearview Mirror. They give you a Smart Rearview Mirror camera, 360-degree view, and finally ventilated seats, but remove HomeLink?? By the way, according to my local Subaru dealership, you cannot just retrofit a new Smart Rearview Mirror with Compass and HomeLink from the Subaru Outback Touring/Touring XT or the Ascent Touring. Apparently the Forester will throw error codes in the dashboard display and is not compatible. Is there a fix coming soon????
U P D A T E !!!!! Apparently there is a fix through your local Subaru dealer’s Parts Department. I don’t think it’s FREE exactly, but at least there’s a workaround available for those that loathe the absence of HomeLink on the 2025 Forester Touring model. ❤
Forrester has an aluminum hood and a fully galvanized body to fight corrosion. Honda ? Most grief I have had with the automotive industry has been corrosion. I keep vehicles longer than most, so the Subaru gets my approval.
I own an Outback, and my wife drives a CR-V. I agree the Outback is superior except for 2 things: the Auto Start/Stop (Honda implements it better) and gas consumption. Subies are not very economical in that area.
Some recent articles I read show that Nissan is in trouble, and now Honda is also having some $$$ issues too. I'll stick with my 2024 Forester Wilderness.
Hey Alex, this is completely off-topic but I recently got the Subaru app to auto start my vehicle and my biggest issue is if I manually start my car and let’s say I want to go into Walmart while leaving my car running I can’t lock it for some reason through the app. I have to shut the car off start it from the app for it to lock. This is my biggest issue and I know you can’t do much but I feel like Subaru needs to change this right now. I’m definitely considering getting it installed third-party rather than paying annually for the option to auto start through the app, I do love the other features like being able to see the diagnostics of my vehicle on there, but it’s just simply not worth it if I can’t get out and lock the car Through the app
Hopefully Subaru allows to remove that panoramic sunroof on their higher trims. I’m interested in higher trim but don’t want the complexities that come with a big opening in the roof. I’m a 2020 Forester owner ❤
Hi Alex Loving my Subaru and your channel. I am being told that people can hear my hands free phone very well however there is a very loud road noise in the background. Any solution? Thank You
Hi from Toronto Canada, Alex! Your vids are great! I have a 2022 Crosstrek, I’m wondering if it has automatic oil change notifications, and tire pressure warnings, or whether these two things have to be checked manually. I have the model with the two smaller display screens. Thanks!
not gonna lie my screen sometimes is hard to utilize when I'm driving it can be very distracting to use when I want to change my climate controls because there's a bunch of buttons that are the same on the screen and you have to actually know which button is which by actually looking or else youll be turning on the wrong thing - i drive a 24 legacy
I just got a 2025 Forester, and have a couple questions. You always say ask questions in the comments so here goes. Is there a way to auto fold in the side mirrors on parking? Also is there a way to detect objects around you when parking etc. I know I can when backing up but what about when pulling into a parking spot. I have noticed this only happen once when I was going slightly fast into a parking spot with a retaining wall in front. Is there any way to show camera area detection I am not aware of? Lastly is there a way to turn off the warning beeps and notifications and just have the lights and warnings show up on the dash and window. I can’t get the beeps etc. turned down low enough?
Congrats on your new Forester! Unfortunately, the Forester doesn't have a way to auto fold the mirrors in unlike some of our other models like the Outback Touring and Ascent Touring. As you've already discovered, there isn't a way to detect objects around unless when you're backing up with the rear parking sensor. The only detection up front would be from the pre-collision auto braking alert when you're about to run into something while moving forward. Alternatively, if you have the Touring trim, it now has the surround view 360 camera to see from side-to-side or from a bird's-eye view. It won't beep or detect objects, but you can at least see them more easily. You can turn off some of the beeps/warnings, but it will turn off the alert as well.
Hi Alex. Greetings from Iceland. You mentioned the flat-fold. In length, the Subaru is I think 202cm but CRV is 190. The 2025 or here 2026 hybrids, are those the trifecta engines (Subaru, Toyota, and Hyundai)? Then supposed to work as the latest Toyota models having electricity cap of 86km or 53 miles that covers all shorter trips and takes the burn to 1 líter pet 100km. Brgds, Óskar
Forester is the best. You will pay more for a CRV. I know, for I shopped the CRV when shopping for my current 2024 Forester Premium. Plus the Forester is far more comfortable.
Dear Alex, I am writing to request your assistance to inquire about the compatibility of window rain deflectors designed for the 2024 Subaru Forester with the 2025 model. Specifically, I would like to confirm if the size and shape of the driver and front passenger doors on the 2025 Forester are identical to those on the 2024 model. I have previously purchased window rain deflectors from a reputable brand here in the US for my previous vehicles and would like to know if their 2024 Forester deflectors will fit the 2025 model, simply because they are not yet scheduled for production for 2025 Forester as of now. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Why would he? The ej engine that could have head gasket issues hasn’t been used for over a decade. Current Subarus aren’t known for head gasket issues any more than other brand.
When I was buying Forester, after testing multiple cars the choice was between Forester and CR-V. Why I didn't buy CR-V: - Rear seats are horrible. I do care about everyone's comfort, so this was a big issue. - Rust. I was choosing 5 year old cars. All Foresters I've seen were clean, all CR-Vs had a lot of rust while being only 5 years old.
I always compare and drive the two. Forester has a better sound system, interior and features that are included. Honda everything is extra. The choice was easy to buy Subaru.
What about engine reliability and servicing costs? I hear Subarus are very needy and expensive to maintain and that they’ve increased servicing intervals which could cause problems in the long term.
Subaru, I’ve been looking for a car just in the last week or two and Subaru is the only car that I looked at that doesn’t come with any kind of maintenance comes with two years of Volvo comes with three years. I don’t understand why Subaru figures they don’t give anybody some kind of deal because there are no payment deals. There are no lease deals so that turned me off right away.
Are there specifications for the Forester hybrid? It would be nice to know what we are buying before putting down a deposit. If I wanted to buy on faith, I would have put a deposit on a Tesla Cybertruck -- about ten years ago? : - ) Seriously, I received an e-mail from Subaru promoting the hybrid, but the link went to a generic description of hybrids.
I concur with your sentiment. I have been disappointment with Subaru with the lack of good info provided when I signed up for updates on the 2025 Forester. I also signed up for the hybrid updates. I think maybe I got maybe one email for a heads up on the Forester LA auto show reveal and yet the official reveal had pretty scant detail about the vehicle. I had to hunt down the specs on the engine, footprint, etc. later. They could do better supplying potential buyers with information on their product. Supposedly they are revealing the hybrid at the Chicago Auto Show in February.
Subaru's are great until they aren't. You can count on the first 80k miles being relatively trouble free but be ready for a headache after that. My '09 Legacy suffered from the head gasket failure (a design issue) and my 2015 Forester needs a new engine because the piston rings self destructed (another design failure). Fool me twice, just bought a Toyota Highlander and will never own another Subie again. The 23' Corsstrek is going back as soon as the lease is up.
I know many Subarus well past 100,000 miles, some that are nearing close to the 200,000 mile and nothing has gone on like you described. Every brand with every car does have its issues, my wife’s Honda, which is a 2015 transmission completely went out, even when it’s been serviced, Honda was good about helping to replace that though. Her mileage was only at 70,000. So. unfortunately, your issues are not cookie-cutter issues,
Hate to break it to you but older generation Toyota Highlanders ('01-07) were also known for head gasket issues. More recently Toyota recalled 100k (non-Highlander) vehicles due to concerns over complete engine failure and 280k for transmission issues. Unfortunately no brand or vehicle is perfect. Best wishes with your Highlander.
It is an interesting question that remains to be seen. Honda has already had a ton of recalls with their new gen CR-V and other new gen vehicles. The biggest test will be how reliable the Forester Hybrid is as the ICE 2025 Forester is not significantly different mechanically from the previous generation. They've pretty much been fine tuning their formula for several years at this point.
@@alexpmo Not exactly sure, but the lack of a spare tire disqualifies a vehicle for me. Hopefully the upcoming Forester Hybrid comes with a physical spare like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Mazda CX-50 Hybrid do.
The Subaru is cheap with the rod needed to hold open the hood. The vertical infotainment screen is no good. I would take the inline 4 of the Honda over the flat 4 engine in the Subaru.
I just traded my 24 Honda crv touring hybrid for a Subaru crosstrek wilderness. Honda went from 41mpg to 12.3 mpg. Honda's reason was its cold out. 😂😂😂 bye bye Crv. Hello fun
Buying long Term ownership of get a new one every 5 years? If ur a short termer either one is fine. Long termer? Forrester and ONLY because of one thing.. Non Turbo!! Carbon buildup WILL be a problem with ALL DI engines! Bu non turbo's can be cleaned safely. Is Subaru 2.5 an ATKINSON Cycle? DI AND Port injection? I would want to know that. With that said I got rid of my 22 CRV and got a Rav4 Gas. Atkinson cycle, DI and Port, No turbo and never carbon buildup if u use good gas and maintain ur vehicle!! I hit a nerve there with people that go by their oil monitors and exceed 5k or 6 months between oil changes. My 05 accord runs like new and my 24 rav will too in 20 years. Subaru AWD is #1 but 90% of people won't need the difference. A CRV FWD with Winter 3 peak tires will tear up the Subaru with all season tires. Look at testing! Tires are the Key. That's why all my vehicles have 3 peak rated tires. I drive snow covered dirt toads that don't get plowed before I travel and no problem! Even more important for people in cities with those slick streets after 1/4" snow/rain. Tires are most important. Don't believe me watch the actual testing. Tell people about the injection systems, long termers need to know$$$$

Like my 23 but the mileage kinda sucks. I only get about 18 city and about 30 hwy. Like that has a cd player along w the buttons/knobs/small screen.
@Dave-hb7lx I get better mileage using 89 octane or higher. City is usually 24, and highway averages about 34. I always average less using 87.
I drove a CR-V from 1998 to 2020. Compared a 2021 CR-V to a 2021 Forester and much preferred the "feel" of the Forester.

Extremely satisfied 25 Forester Sport owner, coming from a 22 WRX, also previously leased a Crosstrek 😊
Great video, I have the forester touring 2025 and is the best purchase I’ve ever made.
Thank you!
2013 Forrester owner here and I don’t plan to trade it anytime soon😂😂😂
Forester Sport owner Extremely satisfied
I got a Subaru outback 2025 Limited I was driving a 2012 Subaru Forrester. I kept that car did not trade in and both of them are still great cars my Forrester I keep up on all regular maintenance and I believe I can drive that thing for 300,000 miles, but I love that new 2025 outback.
I looked at both and I am so glad I went with the 2024 Forester wilderness
I'll take the subie all day long😊
Same!
My Dad has a blue 2018 Subaru Forester. It’s great!
Personally, I have a 2017 Honda Accord EX-L that I just bought from the Honda dealer. It’s been an awesome car so far!
Bought a '23 Forester over the CRV because I didn't want a turbo and all the associated problems and costs. My Forester has been great so far.
Excellent video. Just convinces me again that I made the correct decision in getting my 2024 Fw
Agreed love my Forester!
Could you make a video on how to change these newer subaru windshield wipers? I got some Michelin wipers and I cannot figure out how to get these adapters to attach to the arm of the wiper. I followed instructions and they don't work.
Love my 01&08 Foresters. Really want an XT !
I test drove both and picked the Crosstrek. Handling and visibility was way better than Honda
Crosstrek is smaller than the Forester correct?
@ yes, it is smaller, but it is basically the same thing
I can attest to the Subaru's AWD ability in the snow. Back in 2015 my brand new Subaru handled a really back snow storm we had here in MD and subsequently an unexpected ice storm that we had that shutdown a large part of Interstate 95. I love my Subaru. On my second one which is a 2020 Onyx XT. I just can't see getting anything else other than a Subaru.
A few months ago I was trying to decide between the CRV, Rogue, and the Forester. I went to the Subaru lot first, saw the CTW, test drove it and the rest is history. I fell in love and I am so glad I did not go with the others.
very good Alex, thank you 👍
Hands down Forester is best
AGREED!
If Suzuki was still a player in the American car market, they would make something that would beat both of these. And make it less expensive.
That upcoming 2026 Passport Trailsport is checking a lot of boxes. I may be trading in my '23 Outback Wilderness for one. Will see how the test drive goes.
I went with the 2024 Forester Wilderness because of the touchscreen.
How do you like it? We are looking at a 22-24 Forester probably in the Wilderness trim. Would be my first Japanese vehicle.
@@brianhayden7103 cool! Thanks for the feedback.
I want to hear more about Hybrid…. Including the pros and cons of Pre- ordering.
We own a 2025 Forester Sport, we really enjoy are our car. Its a very easy car to drive.
Needs a Forester XT!
Wife loves her 2025 Forester. I guess the trend is for everyone to add more electronics but seems like a long range potential maintenance issue.
I have always
loved the looks and usability of my raised racks on both my Outback and my Forester.
Been hearing that the CRV and RAV4 aren’t doing as well, and quality/reliability just isn’t there like years past……Im not surprised. Viva Subaru for the win🏆❤️
The NA engine alone makes the Forester my choice.
Please let us know more about the Ascent.
Had a crv…dumped it in 18 mos. Not for me… now obw much better choice for me. Several suvs in between but Subaru is much more capable.
Hey Alex,
Why does the 2025 Forester Touring not include the Compass or HomeLink buttons on its Smart Rearview Mirror.
❤
i’m considering getting a 2019 subaru outback premium, is this year a good year ? can you shed some light on specs and maintenance?
Forrester has an aluminum hood and a fully galvanized body to fight corrosion. Honda ? Most grief I have had with the automotive industry has been corrosion. I keep vehicles longer than most, so the Subaru gets my approval.
I own an Outback, and my wife drives a CR-V. I agree the Outback is superior except for 2 things: the Auto Start/Stop (Honda implements it better) and gas consumption. Subies are not very economical in that area.
Is hers also AWD? From my understanding, the AWD Honda and Subaru have similiar MPG. When you jump over to the FWD, it gets better MPG.
@ Yes it’s AWD. She gets around 30 MPG and I get 23.
Some recent articles I read show that Nissan is in trouble, and now Honda is also having some $$$ issues too. I'll stick with my 2024 Forester Wilderness.
how much does a valve adjustment cost on the Subaru I heard the motor has to be dropped to do it ?
I also have the 2020 Forester. What are the complexities with the sunroof? I haven't known any.
I love the touchscreen but I agree that the drawback is the single point of failure.
Hi Alex
Loving my Subaru and your channel.
Thanks!
Forester is great but shouldn't we wait for the Hybrid this summer? I'm curious if Subaru can nail it.
not gonna lie my screen sometimes is hard to utilize when I'm driving it can be very distracting to use when I want to change my climate controls because there's a bunch of buttons that are the same on the screen and you have to actually know which button is which by actually looking or else youll be turning on the wrong thing - i drive a 24 legacy
Just noticed a sticker on my new Outback roof rail. It’s a lease. Can I peel that sucker off?
The current generation CRV might actually be better for camping though. The recalled fuel pumps can start a nice warm fire.
HAHA, great point.
Subaru’s are much safer and better❤.
No mention of head gaskets in Subarus?
Why would he? The ej engine that could have head gasket issues hasn’t been used for over a decade. Current Subarus aren’t known for head gasket issues any more than other brand.
When I was buying Forester, after testing multiple cars the choice was between Forester and CR-V.
Why I didn't buy CR-V:
- Rear seats are horrible.
2024 Forester has 1.9% for 72 months, 0 down. That, and a lower negotiated price. Also the Forester is much lower to insure
The subi wins when it comes to AWD system, visibility and price. However, it is hideous, acceleration is sluggish and the touchscreen was a mistake.
Both are ugly!
The original CRV, and pasted versions of the Forester were much better looking, that’s what caught my eye back then. 😏
I'd take the CRV.. the interior is nicer. The touchscreen in the Subaru is slow as molasses... I own a 2024 Outback Limited.
snow and ice… period
Do you work for a Subaru dealership?
Yes!
He may well be their top salesman.
@@1linkbelt Don't doubt that at all, he knows his product very well.
There is no STi version of the subie......and I would lower it...it is too tall for me, need to see the roof of the vehicle
Really love my Subarus but I bet the honda is going to be better long-term reliability
I skipped both because they have CVT transmission. I got Mazda CX-5. Made in Japan, and comes with regular automatic transmission.
Going to have problems with that boxer engine and crv sooner than Honda.
I’m a forester fan but it’s hard to beat 40 MPG
The naturally aspirated CR-V models have a spare tire.
That’s good to know! Thanks for the insight. I wonder if it’s that way for specific years or on all of the NA motors
@@alexpmo Not exactly sure, but the lack of a spare tire disqualifies a vehicle for me. Hopefully the upcoming Forester Hybrid comes with a physical spare like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Mazda CX-50 Hybrid do.
@ hopefully so! The Crosstrek hybrid never had the spare so I’m curious to see if the Forester hybrid will have it
The Subaru is cheap with the rod needed to hold open the hood. The vertical infotainment screen is no good. I would take the inline 4 of the Honda over the flat 4 engine in the Subaru.
The forester has not been like this before
The Honda 1.7 turbo has a lot of issues. Even Honda techs don’t recommend it Subaru for the win
Both have CVT's. dealbreaker
I just traded my 24 Honda crv touring hybrid for a Subaru crosstrek wilderness. Honda went from 41mpg to 12.3 mpg. Honda's reason was its cold out. 😂😂😂 bye bye
Crv. Hello fun
I like my 22obw I'll never buy any else but a suburu
Toyota partly owns Subaru.the company has stakes in it.
