This is proof that no one really cares if you play the forbidden riff Its just some crap some stuck up jerk came up with because he thinks people who choose to play those riffs are amateurs and they dont want to deal with them.
If you play it correctly they won’t say anything.
Most of these videos are fake anyway. If you are looking to buy a guitar they could care less what you play.
it's kinda the opposite lol. if you come in and obviously know how to play guitar, start talking to an employee and play Stairway to Heaven right in front of them, they will probably "stop" you as a joke but also like wtf are u doing?
if you clearly are new to guitar and can barely play one song, they aren't going to make you stop. they will be nice to you and think it's funny

they are iconic, yet pretty simple to play. so if you worked at a guitar store in the late 80's you would have people coming in EVERYDAY butchering the intro to those songs repeatedly.
if someone is actually new to playing guitar, the salesman will just think it's funny and not do anything. However, if the person clearly plays guitar well and comes in and plays one of those songs the salesman will tell them to stop. mostly as a joke and a reference to the movie "Wayne's World" if it is Stairway to Heaven.

It's a plagiarized song from Spirit Taurus, that's why the guitar store owners get angry and everyone tries to play them and compare them, damaging the strings.
