It reminded me a bit of one of my favorite earlier moments, when during one of the Thrones (early s7?) recaps, after trying to make a point, Aaron pulls out a gun and blows his brains out but it's not acknowledged at all lol

Pedro Pascal does have a really nice face that we all like to look at. And he's also an amazing actor that somehow gave a character with a helmet on all the time nuance and depth in a way that many actors couldn't do, even with very little dialogue. I'm okay with them keeping his pretty face hidden if his performance is phenomenal like it has been.
What's really gonna bake your noodle is realizing he wasn't the actor under that helmet 60-70% of the the time.His stunt double did a great job too! Not really sure whether they matched the voice-over to the action or action to the voice-over.
@@zshakur yeah I'd wondered about that once we got like 4-5 episodes deep, and heard an unsourced quote secondhand with Pascal supposedly saying it was him on set most of the time, but then I saw a definite sourced quote from Bryce Dallas Howard (an episode's director) and she said she never worked with Pascal at all.
@@zshakur this is the second time someone brings fake ass percentages of his screen time without any source at all. Stop this bullshit. Pedro was not present only for episode 4 and the hard action scenes. Jfc...
The ability to emote using their body and suble head tilts makes the Mando way more of an emoting and real feeling character than 90% of the prequel characters.

the armorer referred to the jet pack as "rising phoenix", i find it humorous how everything mando has a pretty name.
The Rising Phoenix isn't the name of the jet pack, it's the name of the martial art connected to using the jet pack.

Carl Weathers characters reminded me so much of his self-portrayel in Arrested Development that instead of calling him Greef Karga they shoulda just called his character "Carl Weathers" ... I mean it's got a Star Wars sound to it.. "Luke Skywalker" "Carl Weathers" They shoulda just gone with it. He could have been working as the Guild leader AND had a side-gig as a struggling acting coach haha

I think the armorer doesn’t view baby yoda as a Jedi. When she refers to it as a foundling she is basically saying he is part of the Mandalorians. Din either finds the Jedi and gives yoda to them or yoda comes of age and trains to be a Mandalorian. At least that’s how I understood it
I think they use the term foundling akin to orphan, so she just meant that baby yoda is an orphan like Din, so he should help it. And she tasked him with finding yoda's race to give baby yoda to them, not to bring him to the jedi.

You know when it is said and done, Mando is gonna end up the owner of the Dark Saber. Maybe he will give it to baby Yoda.
Seeing that intro made me question something.
So... when Baby Yoda sees Cara Dune point a blaster at Mando's head... the little one just keeps eating the soup. But when they arm-wrestle it sees it as a threat and tried to choke her? oO
Baby Yoda either has a very messed up threat-perception or I REALLY want the recipy for that soup. :P
Obi wan was on his first mission after becoming a Jedi Knight, he was Satines security, when he had to go back to curoscant and said he would leave the order to be with her. Also,
If Din was adopted by Death Watch, when Pre Vizla had fairly recently died and maul had recently been Mandalore, how does he not even know what the force is? I can see him thinking of it as a myth, like we saw in the force awakens, but he clearly has no idea what it is. It just seems strange that he wasn't informed at all by people who literally saw force users and heard the legends of the Jedi. Also, the force religions all throughout the Galaxy seem to make it hard to believe that he never once heard about the force.
The way I see it, he might know the name, the force, but he might not be able to recognize it when he sees it. Kinda like an earthquake, you know what they are, but have never felt it. Suddenly your legs feel a bit wobbly, but you think its like a muscle spasm or something, then 5 mins later you hear about the earthquake and you know instantly what it was. What is incredible is that Cara doesn't recognize it. I hope they explain it away in season 2.

Even the Stormtroopers missing the can was a setup for later. After Mando gets his bell rung, Cara comes out, drags him inside, Greef, IG and DJ all go back inside, you see half a dozen laser blasts as this is going on and not ONE of them comes even CLOSE to hitting them. I don't even think there was a hit on the friggin doorframe. WHAT THE FRIG WERE THEY AIMING AT???!!! 🤣

If Gus/Moff Gideon is going to be Din's opponent, and he has a Darksaber, Din is gonna need a similar blade/staff/lance like weapon. Think maybe he'll eventually get a lightsaber? Maybe he'll find yoda's race and they'll teach him how to use one? I'd say maybe mandalorians have their own melee weapon, but that's the darksaber lol, it's theirs.
The Dark Saber is going to open up a little plot hole in the series. Is the Dark Saber going to be important to the Mandalorian? If so, does he know why it's important? If it's important because someone told him it's important and he doesn't know anything about it, that's a little weak. I feel like the story will have to twist itself to make it important to him, but also keep it so he doesn't know what a lightsaber or Jedi, or the Force is.

I like the theory that the reason the stormtroopers have such shit aim is because the empire is a bunch of cheap bastards who prioritize quantity over quality so their aim is a product of shotty workmanship. Would also explain why their head to toe armor is worthless and they can be taken down by a guy with a stick

I think he was so uptight about the helmet because of the possible thing with shian in the past. Maybe he justified it because Mandolorians are allowed to take there helmets off in front of romantic partners. Maybe he felt he was too easily lured into taking his helmet off that time and wanted to make up for it now. He was willing to die a warrior’s death. But I thought the face reveal was done very well. Like you said he looked exactly how we wanted him to. Beat up and rumpled and simultaneously frightened and stressed. IG11 was a total badass too. And Mando with that laser gun was great. I hope he mostly keeps his helmet on from now on unless there’s a very good reason not to. Oh god if Mof Gideon is force sensitive I fear for everyone’s life. Because if that’s the case you better damn well believe that he’s well trained.

I feel like I might be the only person who liked episode 5, lol. I actually really disliked episode 4 with the exception of Cara Dune.
I can’t believe you guys liked this series. Maybe I’ve just become a big Star Wars hater, after being a die hard fan my entire life... but I feel like they are just trying to steal our money at every turn. Low quality plots only get you so far nowadays, and I feel that’s all Star Wars has provided since episode 1.
I honestly wished they hadn't of included episode 5, the other 'side quests' were at least entertaining and come back to affect the plot (I'm guessing episode 6 comes back for season 2). Love the season tho! Cant wait for more!
I think Gideon is a force sensitive, but he’s weak in the force because he’s had no training and had to hide his potential from Vader and the emperor so he wouldn’t become an inquisitor and lose his position in the imperial hierarchy. I think he is fascinated with baby yoda because he wants to expand on his connection with the force, and become more powerful, however I don’t believe he is aware of the light side and dark side and it’s distinctions, perhaps reasoning to his darksaber, showing his imbalance in the force.
Could be as you say, except that the darksaber is no reflection on him. He didn't make it.

In the original StarWars it was just Han doing all the kind of jokes they give to too many characters in the newer iterations.
It was funnier when it was just that funny space pirate guy (and 3P0 obviously).
Mostly it was a scary world. Most people wouldn’t have a sense of humour.
