Tainui group holdings have enough money and assets to pull every poor Maori family out of poverty, they even have enough to set up their own Maori health authority if they wanted to. Te Pati are holding out their hands to the wrong fat cats

When you consider the debt level we are in ,No one has any money ,except the 1% rs .The last Govt left us owing $147.5 billion while they virtue signalled us to near bankruptcy in 3 yrs . Astoundingly adding $10 billion debt during their last 3 months in office ..So much for crushing poverty . Now catastrophic failure is touted at resounding success by the faithful..

@@jwatstom I don't know Tainui's financial performance, but some tribes have been generating quite good profits, and it should especially be noted that the tribe entities only pay 17.5% income tax, compared with business tax rate of 28%. So they are advantaged, hence should not complain.

@@delinquentinparadiseDon't think you are right.. Luxton has been out of the country and before the Christchurch meeting he is off to try to talk to Tauinui. I think that is where Luxton's strengths lie... he gets very competent people that he has trust in and gives them the power to sort things in the area of their portfolios, and so we are hearing from Winston, Jones and today young Simeon Brown making a lot of sense ...it is the mark of a good manager and that is what the country has needed for a long time A GOOD MANAGER. It is only the likes of Ardern and Hipkins who felt their face had to be on everything and everything was a photo shoot pr session for them ... look at me, look at me! NZ is a democracy, not based in tribal feudalism! The Maori tribes DON'T get to dictate what the current Govt is allowed to do on policy democratically taken to the people of NZ. They DON'T have veto rights!!! I would add that Australians also REJECTED The Voice, which attempted the same circumventing of democracy. As someone else already pointed out, this racialisation of a country was done in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. It ended in rampant racially driven violence and starvation.

Rhodesia's infrastructure and everything in it was built by cringe squint dare i say it ....c o l o n i s e r s...ouch there i said it.!!!! it was built by them into a great country for everyone. Then a wonderful indigenuos Bishop Mugabe rigged the electoral system had a chance to steal the land back, and all it's wealth , changed the name to Zimbabwe to cleanse the land of the colonisers, killed and plundered white 4th generation farmers, caused chaos and rioting and looting. Driving them off their farms and businesses, some survivors with nothing but the shirt on their back and what few rand they could hide in shoes. Soon there were no taxpayers or employers left to support or maintain basic utilities and services. The coffers were looted and distributed among Mugabe's family and some supporters were bribed. Inflation skyrocketed, food was almost non existent because the white farmers had left. Now jobless farm workers ate breeding stock and seed so no future growth or planting work was done...soon there was no food. crime soared, anarchy ruled, rapes burglaries, murders were commonplace, destruction of street lights for copper cables and other braindead thefts destroyed coloniser's infrastructure, no wages to pay govt. security, police, health workers, educators etc. etc. Zimbabwe fell into 3rd world status as one of the worst places on the planet to live. Maori have to remember they are barely 11% of the population which they say will push for the continual extensive use of Te Reo .... what they have to realise is that the majority of our 5 million citizens of NZ have voted overwhelming for change and are prepared to push back on Maori to see that this does not happen. We demand our democracy and demand to be one equal people with equal rights. The country cannot afford to indulge the activist gravy trains of Maori any longer. Te Reo has cost the country many billions of dollars that could have well been used for the betterment OF ALL OUR SERVICES for all our people...e.g. up grading and sorting out hospitals, improving medical facilities, education facilities... right across the board to improving the road networks to get the country moving again - So much revenue has been swallowed up by the over indulgence of Te Reo which is only relevant to such a tiny percentage of the country....and now we have to have a government which governs for all citizens of NZ and not just the tiny, bullying and vicious, activist groups. A problem we have in ending all this bs is all the catering that has been done towards Maori has given them the impression it is a right of theirs to have special status, privileges, and consideration that other Kiwis don't have, so they feel the gov is removing something that they think is rightfully theirs, they have no understanding that it is not their rights being taken away, rather it is privileges being taken away, privileges they should never been given. That is why most of these radicals think there's a just cause, some of the leaders know the truth but don't care and keep filling the heads of others with nonsense for their own gain. All this to say, there will have to be blood spilled to finish this as they are ideologues, and nothing less will do it, it will be them who spill the first drop, and only then will they realize just how much they overreached,. They shade under the tree of the majority they seek to cut down.

AND that is exactly what Maori asked the crown for, sovereignty and the consequence of protection, because NZL had turned into the Hell Hole of the Pacific after the Maori started killing each other for 20 plus years in the musket wars, killing 20 000 of their own in a hell hole genocide. Only Maori have not upheld their part of the Treaty at all for the protection the crown gave them baring their arse to the Queen and not recognising sovereignty rests with the crown. The English are owed a huge apology from Maori for protecting them and making them the wealthiest people on earth in 1958, not to mention doubling their life expectancy, if the God honest truth be known cobber.
Give a man a fish and he will not be hungry for a day, teach the man to fish and he will not be hungry ever. It is time the handouts and protection from the English Crown stopped, and Maori learned to pull their own weight in the world, or perhaps we will keep them weak by feeding them and making them dependent as they are now. Maori leadership are the only ones breaching the Treaty, by rewriting it in favour of themselves, despite it's true goal of favouring all. I always find it interesting that certain types say the honor Maori and their mana then push a narrative that the chiefs of that time were dumb and fooled by the worldy euros, rather than agnologing the truth that they were not dumb and not fooled but rather made the taking over of nz by the crown a reality for their own benefit, something today's Maori still reap benefit. Talks of mis interpretation are none sense, there Was already a Maori dictionary in other country's by 1840, many spoke English and many euro spoke Maori, with many tribes. You an those like you should hop off your high horse and give the chiefs of old the mana they deserve for what they accomplised by giving up sovereignty. This who also claim that it is just whiteys opinion also know nothing about 1860 and the meeting to ratify the treaty by the chiefs, there own words speaking of the queen as sovereign over all other chiefs in nz. You lot have got away with not knowing anything for sometime now but the free ride is up, best you educate yourself on true documented history (by both sides) or continue to expose yourself as ignorant and not worthy of attention. @@jwatstom

@@louiscarnachan3608 Maori asked the Crown for protection from the Hell Hole in the Pacific that they created for themselves, and ceded sovereignty to the Crown to get that protection, otherwise the Crown would not have provided the protection Maori were looking for. It is the second oldest game in town "Sure we will protect you, but we will also then control you". The oldest game in town is Prostitution, the two are closely linked of course. That is the principal of the Treaty. Now Maori want to change that by twisting the meaning, saying they never ceded sovereignty at all, when clearly, in black and white, they did. The protection was given and still is given by The Crown. Hence the Crown made Maori the wealthiest people on earth only 120 years after the Treaty was signed, doubled their life expectancy, gave every Maori the right to own land, gave every Maori the right to vote for its leadership, regularly, stopped Maori slavery, stopped polygamy and so on - never before in all of human history has so much been achieved for a group of people than what was achieved for Maori by The Crown, let alone in such a short time frame. As a indication of thanks Maori are now trying to steal the Country back for themselves by breaking the Treaty whilst exclaiming Honor The Treaty = a cunning attempt at Projection, which is accusing you of doing to them what they are actually doing to you = Narcissism = mental illness. Research it. Consequently, and because Maori ceded sovereignty, it is the Crown that decides who can be here NOT Maori, but the Crown. Is that easier to understand...?
If not may I suggest "Rambling On My Mind" by Eric Clapton on Just One Night Double Album, an excellent version that should be relief. Another product of The Crown.

Some said their main focus was on cleaning their own backyard first. Some even voiced their hatred for the gang culture that Māori have taken up. Some voiced their iwi or hapu's focus was to maintain their Te Reo, no mater who was in government. Don't assume it was only just a conglomerate of people who hate the government.
