A favourite minigame of mine during your videos is to try and figure out what youre watching on that ipad during your painting cutaways. Always a new treat!
@@TheWizardsBrush Haha I do the exact same, thought it was the new show on amazon prime the game one called something like next level? But then looked more like a TH-cam video for some!
I love it when you talk dirty down rust to me. If you want the ultimate basing material that never warps you should check out foamed pvc or pvc foam. It’s light, easy to cut with a knife and comes in a bunch of different thicknesses. Once I started using it for my terrain builds I have never looked back.
To fix warping, turn it upside down, paint the bottom of the base with PVA and leave to dry. Works well with hardboard, MDF and PVC bases so should work on printed bases too.
This has been recommended a couple of times now so I will definitely be giving it a go! If it doesn't work then I will be attempting reinforcing the base . Thank you 🙏😊
Yeah, it's good knowing I can print almost anything now. I do think that I need a better place for them both. Certainly the resin one cus it's a nasty chemical nightmare
I was going to say the same things as sasuman. It's the glue and the paint warping it. Put some on the other side, and it should straighten. Also, i would sand it a little on the bottom of the base, the direction of the warp. So, in your case, length ways mainly. it will have more adhesion when it contracts through drying. Just sand it lightly. (If you've printed it on a textured 3d bed plate, you won't need to do this. I still would personally, but it might not be needed.)
Yeah, I'm going to give this a go tonight, I'm excited to see the results! Ot came of the bed a bit warped so I think my lack of FDM experience may have caused an issue on the printing as well. It was printed on a textured print bed but I will give a light sand too. Do you think PVA is best or super glue?
@TheWizardsBrush Your videos have encouraged me to do my own 10mm forces. So I have been slowly working on that between a bunch of other life things going on.
Superb. I wish I had your workspace, but then I would not have the excuse as to why I am so slow I hope you get some actual gaming out of this, the pieces are set, the field is known, TO WAR! But! I did make Morgoth with Grond this year, so there is that
Thank you 😊 🙏 it's taken a long time to get this space nice but I'm very grateful to have it. I'm definitely running out of room though! It's ok to be slow! Enjoying it is all that really matters I think. Yeah can't wait to have a massive battle. Morgith with OG grond! Sounds DOPE!
Yeah I was able to unwarp it with the hairdryer I then left it in place with the weights over night but it warped again. Is it just not heating up enough do you think? I do have a heat gun so I can try that. Cheers 🙏
@@TheWizardsBrush Its a fine line with the heat, you want to get it pliable, but not so soft that it deforms. If you softened it, that also might be the time to glue on some wooden supports underneath, maybe with CA glue that could then be snapped off after its set.
@stargazingkiwi OK yeah i see that. Definitely consistent with what I observed when I was warming it up then weighing it down only to have it warp again shortly after (too much heat maybe?). I think I may have to go down the support/reinforcement route. I will share the results in the next video. Thank you for your insights 😊🙏
Yeah, it does, I can't remember the percentage now, ah ok thats interesting. The base slightly warped when it came off the build plate, so I think the issues started there. Then, the usual issues of basing materials drying, etc. I'm going to try glue on the underside, I've heard that works. Cheers 🙏
Fantastic work! But I gotta ask, i feel like this is about the 3rd time on this channel that i've seen some of your stuff fall and absolutely annihilate some of your other stuff...my man, please, what is your storage situation, were you cursed by a witch?
Thank you 😊 🙏 😄 🤣 it was just the once, I've just mentioned it at least 3 times, part the healing process I spose. It was just the gondor army. Although I will definitely need more room soon! I cannot refute the witch curse however 🧙♀️ 🪄 💀
Hey love ya vids been watching a while. You should build a housing and some ventilation for your printers they put off a lot of micro plastics in to the air you and your kid are breathing and on to all the surfaces in your workshop. We are only just now beginning to understand the effects off micro plastics on our biology and to our environment as far as we can tell though it aint great. Just a suggestion. Do what ya want Im not ya mom. keep up the great vids
Thank you! 🙂🙏 yeah I rarely use the resin printer anymore cus it's nasty. I'm going to move that to another location as soon as I can. Is that from the FDM printer? (as in the micro plastics) My workshop is a conservatory so it has great ventilation. I've seen some housings online tbf that look good. Cheers, I'm working hard on them atm

Excellent, any theories on what I was watching this time? 10 points for every correct answer. Thank you 😊 🙏
@@TheWizardsBrushNot a clue this week, but I'll be watching again next time and hoping for better luck!
@SamBrown-fb2ib ah fair, these ones were cryptic. The Mini game is now officially on.
@@TheWizardsBrush Haha I do the exact same, thought it was the new show on amazon prime the game one called something like next level? But then looked more like a TH-cam video for some!
@Fxcinematics 😄 ah we have a near correct guess there, it's 'Secret level' 5 points to you Fx
Great! Just great! Would be so nice to get a version with flames as well! Looking forward to more 10mm lotr. Keep up the very good work!
Thank you 😊 🙏 Yeah I definitely want a flaming version as well!
I second the use of 2mm chain. I used the same on my 10mm chariots and a few other conversions.
Ah ok nice! It took a sec for me to work out how to best do tiny chains then necklace came to mind. quite cheap for a whole lot of them as well 🙌
ive missed a few episodes but glad to see this. looks sick! what a great centerpiece
Yeah a couple went under the radar, great Algo had not shined on me these past few weeks. Thank you 😊 🙏
Grond-tastic! Happy New Year!

You are making one of my next proyects!
So much happy seen yours
Ah nice! You making Grond then? Thank you 😊 🙏
Something thats worked for me with warping is putting glue on the underside to warp it the otherway so it flattens.
Ah ok that's interesting, so glue it to a surface temporarily?
@TheWizardsBrush Not even that, just put the glue on the underside and let it dry in the open air
@Sasuman731 ah ok, so as it hardens it pulls the other way, I get it. That's cool! Cheers!
Completely coat the bottom in PVA glue. Let dry. It should pull it back.
Siiiick. Dirty down stuff is just so goooood
Thank you dude 🙏 🙌 Yeah it's the best 👌
Good man, dual printing! I know the Muse is with me when I have both of mine going.

10/10 great work! Now you just need a collaboration doing the fortress with Zorpazorp
Ah thank you 😊 🙏 I really appreciate it. Oh I'd love to, we've chatted about doing something in the future when the gates allign!

To try and unwarp things, heat it up a little with a heatgun or hairdryer, and then put your weights on it. Setting it in place as it cools.

Does the base have any fill in it? It may need a different fill pattern. The warp is probably the glue on the bottom of the big mini shrinking.
