I think that both would be a good option, but I have had some issues with my 35 Gold RL lately and SRAM has not been able to process my warranty claim in a timely fashion. If you can do the fox 34 one I would go for it because it is a more reliable fork with a better damper.

Hmm, that is odd. I am able to notice a difference between slowest and fastest on mine. Perhaps a local bike shop should take a look at it and could help you contact Rockshox.
The rebound on these forks is awful. And hardly adjustable, every time I hit anything remotely bumpy feels like I’m going to get jolted off the bike. Save your money for pikes or better don’t waste your money on these awful forks.

Yeah that is sound advice. 20mm is the max I would change your travel by. It performs well on my bike. The notable change is a slightly slacker head tube angle and a slightly higher bottom bracket which could be better or worse depending on the riding you do.
Hi. Would like to know if you have ridden other forks of the same price range, like Sektor or Reba? I'm in for a new fork and can't find much on the subject to compare them. Basically all reviews are from very old models or from the high end forks. Thanks!
I was considering the Sektor a year or two ago, but it really hasn't seen many updates compared to Rockshox's flagship forks. I have not tested the Sektor or Reba, but I'm fairly certain that they still run on 32 mil stanchions. I would still go for the 35 Gold RL over those simply for that reason. Unfortunately I can’t direct you to a specific one, but I’d imagine your local bike shop would be able to contact Rockshox and get you the correct spring. I’d definitely check this possibility out before buying though. @@VentureMTB thank you for the reply. I read that RS made this 35 version to fit ebike demands, and that's what I need. Unfortunatly my local bike shop refuse to help DIY ebike builders and the only national RS dealer do not respond to requests. Honestly, I didn't consider the Z2 because of the colors and I wanted to match my Rockshox shock. I've heard great things about the Z2, so you probably can't go wrong with either!
If the bike normally runs a 120mm fork, I would go for a 120 or 130mm on the 35 Gold RL. Maybe if you think it can handle it, you can go 140mm like I did, but you have to consider the slackening of the headtube and seat tube and the raising of the bottom bracket.
As long as you have a tapered head tube and a boost axle, you should be good! If you have a 15x100mm axle like me, you could get the Problem Solver Spacers to remedy the non-boost.
Hi how do you change the travel in that fork ? do you need to change the spring every time you want to change travel? sorry for the crappy english and good video
Thanks! It's a tricky thing, tilting it up means you see way too little of the bike on the downhills but you see too much of the bike on the uphills. I prefer leaning towards more of the bike on the ups so that you can see a good amount of both bike and trail on the downhills. I'll keep it in mind though.
I'm not sure, SRAM does not have it listed on their website and I did not weigh it before putting it on my bike. It felt very similar, in hand, to the Recon I was replacing so I don't think I added any noticeable amount of weight.
Awful forks. Have a set on my ebike and will have to change them they are so poor. Funny you say they are stiffer, they are so bouncy it’s unreal. Coming from a 2nd hand of pikes they do not even come remotely close.

I’d definitely check this possibility out before buying though. It’s tricky cuz the 35 RL doesn’t have the most well known presence compared to the Pike and Lyric so people don’t necessarily know what works and what doesn’t.
@@VentureMTB thank you for the reply. I read that RS made this 35 version to fit ebike demands, and that's what I need. Unfortunatly my local bike shop refuse to help DIY ebike builders and the only national RS dealer do not respond to requests. I'll keep trying tho because I think this is the right fork for my demands.
What u think about the Yari and the revelation now that they are all 500
I would go for whichever one has the best damper
Awesome review 👍 . I assume this is 1 step lower than a yari?
Yeah, I believe so. However, the Revelation was updated to 35mm stanchions, but I think that was phased out by the 35 Gold RL.
What is the reason for this over Marzocchi Z2?
Honestly, I didn't consider the Z2 because of the colors and I wanted to match my Rockshox shock. I've heard great things about the Z2, so you probably can't go wrong with either!
its ok to ride freeride with it? its same as lyrik and yari i mean they react same to freeride
It is not quite the same as the lyrik and yari, but I took this took the bike park once this year and it was pretty awesome
Should I put this on a 120 mil hard tail, Janis dragonslayer
If the bike normally runs a 120mm fork, I would go for a 120 or 130mm on the 35 Gold RL. Maybe if you think it can handle it, you can go 140mm like I did, but you have to consider the slackening of the headtube and seat tube and the raising of the bottom bracket.
Yeah I was thinking about the slacker head tube being good but I don’t know about the bottom bracket oof
**M** * I think if you want to up the travel 130mm is a safe bet
Hey! Whats the actual weight for the fork?
I unfortunately didn't weigh mine before putting it on the bike, but someone else in these comments said there's weighed in 5.10 lb so not too shabby!
I wonder if that would fit on my 2019 Giant Talon 3 27.5?! 🤔
As long as you have a tapered head tube and a boost axle, you should be good! If you have a 15x100mm axle like me, you could get the Problem Solver Spacers to remedy the non-boost.
@@VentureMTB Thanks buddy!
No problem!
Good vid!!
Thanks!
hey, i started to see your videos, and i'm getting intersted in your channel. You just gain a susbcriber. Keep up!
Thank you so much! I have plenty of footage ready for editing and plenty of upcoming rides to film so stay tuned!
Really good effort 😂
Great video .. did you drop a fart💨💨 at 2 minutes hahaha
Thanks and it was my dropper post...probably...lol!
Hi how do you change the travel in that fork ? do you need to change the spring every time you want to change travel? sorry for the crappy english and good video
Thanks, and I’m not a hundred percent sure of how to change the travel but I do believe you need a different length spring each time
Usually you can change travel by removing the air spring and moving the bumpers on that. That's how the solo spring works.
No air shaft needed you add or remove a spacer, that’s it.
- [ ] You are freaking beast bro! I love your videos,I Wish You Luck! I am Making Videos myself but I am far behind u aha 😍💯
Lil_murky20 thanks dude!
good review but could you maybe tilt your GoPro up a bit?
Thanks! It's a tricky thing, tilting it up means you see way too little of the bike on the downhills but you see too much of the bike on the uphills. I prefer leaning towards more of the bike on the ups so that you can see a good amount of both bike and trail on the downhills. I'll keep it in mind though.
You can throw anything to that fork easy
smeashhhhh
How much does it weigh? I honestly don't feel like spending $800+ for a Pike LOL
I'm not sure, SRAM does not have it listed on their website and I did not weigh it before putting it on my bike. It felt very similar, in hand, to the Recon I was replacing so I don't think I added any noticeable amount of weight.
Weighed in at 5.10 lbs with my Ultimate Support scale, not bad for the job.
i just got this fork for for 200
Nice! I hope it works well for you
Awful forks. Have a set on my ebike and will have to change them they are so poor. Funny you say they are stiffer, they are so bouncy it’s unreal. Coming from a 2nd hand of pikes they do not even come remotely close.
