Thank you, I've been one of the testers for a while and can say that with all the different machines and hardware that pass through EFP 3.0 having performance tweaks is really nice to have, thx for doing this.
One more tip: try to change full-screen to borderless using in-game menu. It gave me around 30fps (not kidding) boost while playing in1080p. Now there is no more fps drop while looking to a light source and less fps when I'm npc crowded places.

Most excellent! I've been battling with choppy fps and bad performance and found out with this video that the Anomaly HD Models Addon 14 has a HUGE impact on performance and most importantly with lighting, anytime there was a lamp with a character my FPS would drop to 30'ish and it was choppy and render latency went through the roof. I usually played on 60fps with the HD textures and now i just removed it and i'm at 120fps+. Its a nice texture pack but its either badly optimised or has an issue with the lighting in the engine. i5-8600K/GTX 1070SC/32gb RAM @3200/ Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video it really helped!
Well, turning vsync on actually helps since the game is single-core. Maybe I’m wrong, but it helped me in balancing my performance without sacrificing graphics. But these are my 3 cents. It is good tutorial ofc
If you have a nvidia gpu I highly recommend trying the image scalling feature. Worked a little miracle here! Just remember to check "reset graphics settings" in the launcher with your native resolution and then change it in-game. No apparent graphic loss.
I followed the video and now my game has these super pixilated shadow textures everywhere and they keep popping on and off I am now troubleshooting for a while but I can't get it back to normal any ideas which setting it is?
Whenever a lit campfire is on screen the game drops to 20-15 fps instantly, does anybody have any idea what mod adds this seriously taxing effect to fire so I can turn it off?
I run at 2k on a 3700x, 1080, 32gb ram. EFP reshade. With all the settings in fame similar as in this video, texture and view distance = 50fps to start. Turning off all anti aliasing, sso, and ssr in game brought back 20-25fps. Reshade ppfxssdo is on, lowers 5-10. The most fps was recovered by disabling the HD models in MO2 according to the EFP discord's instructions. I run at a consistent 95+ fps now. I figured this might help someone.
Cheeki I love your videos bro, but its sooo important to include system specs so we can gauge which direction to go with the information you have provided. You said you have a potato? What is a potatoe? Is it a 1060? A RX560? The differences between these two potatoes are significant and drastically alter the choices we should make in regard to graphic settings. Ty though for this video.
In my experience I've found that disconnecting your computer from the internet adds about 5-7 FPS. If you're desperate enough (like myself) it's a nice little way to squeeze out some extra performance. Just thought others would want to know.
Hmm that sounds weird for an offline game no? Could it not be some background processes that can't run anymore with internet off so that leaves some room for Stalker to run better? I should try xD
Thank you for this video another excellent one and most needed. My 6 year old potato is now running EFP 3.0 much better and looks much better at a higher frame rate...
Efp on my stalker is practically vanilla stalker anomaly with a few tweaks, since my pc go stolen when i was at work so now i play on a shitty pc i used to study, and even stalker without any mods is already quite heavy for my pc.
I'm thinking about disabling the HD Models and would rather use Fixed Vanilla Models if possible. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly how to do this without creating mod conflicts with other parts of EFP that have a hand in animations, models, and NPC scripts. Anyone know how to get FVM working within this? Or could I just swap it with HDM with no issue?
From the discord: To remove HD Models, do the following: ○ Disable the following mods: ► [Raito-x-Ray] HDModels Full ► [Compat] THAP & HD Models ► [Flashbangz] Sin Redux - HD Models ► [DNPCAV] HD Variety ○ Enable the following mods: ► [Gwub] LLTZ & Mysteries of the Zone - Vanilla ► [Compat] Vanilla Models & THAP & HD Icons ○ Note, you must do this before starting a new game, doing this during an existing save will crash your game, no way around it. Hope it helps!
@@CheekiBreekiTv lol, I was just coming back to this video to check around the comments for this info, and here you already replied and answered my question in complete detail =D tysm! Merci
MErci ;)
My problem is that when ever i hit an object with a knife or bullet hits a surface, it casts a dust cloud that is coloured blue. Idk how to deal with that. Other than that great video, performance increased without messing up the games looks. That damn blue smoke is an eye sore though, i really need help with that one.
Oh yeah, the leaves around whilrigig anomaly are blue squares aswell. No idea what modpack is causing this, i have EFP installed and pretty much all the default mods on. I really need to figure this one out because the game is pretty much uunplayable at this point due to these. Cant find help on google either since idk what to search for.
First time I opened the game, I poped shadows to 4096 and I was getting 25FPS, for sure diminushing shadow resolution isn't much noticiable (1080p screen), and with your settings I get 120fps.
Your first tutorial on Anomaly best graphics settings was a go to. In every computer I installed anomaly on I would open your video and carefully adjust everything. I am sure this is just as well done as the first video, so thumbs up, thanks for making these tutorials. I have a 1050ti in my current rig, what kind of performance do you reckon I should expect? Or should I just trash this idea of getting EFP? I have already added so many mods, about 50 to my modlist and was considering giving this new mod a go, what are your thoughts? Thanks :)
I've been playing EFP on a 1060 and it's running perfectly fine. Settings are not maxed out ofc but game looks great and runs smoothly. You should be good on a 1050ti!
My issue with EFP is the FPS drop when too many NPCs are in a level, there are too many of them, and any attempt of changing the number of NPCs in settings doesn't change anything. I'm playing on EFP 4.2 and i want to ask you how to change the NPCs settings?
I have downloaded the game and I have followed all the steps to install the mods correctly in addition to your graphic configuration, but when I start a game I end up choosing faction, equipment and etc. When I hit start as soon as the loading screen ends, it takes me to the desktop without No reason and I don't get any error messages either. If you had the solution to this I would really appreciate it because it is one of my favorite games and it hurts not being able to play with all these addons and having to settle for playing the normal anomaly version.
@@Cynical_Giro Thanks for the speedy assistance friend! I was foolish and thought EFP was a singular item in the load order like Provak's mod [even tho they both add alot] thanks again! I'll have to re arrange my mods for anomoly lol

Ok so at the beggining - you're life saver with this video, i'm strugling to get my game run smooth, Definetly gonna try yours options later today, but the biggest ill for me is the jagged edges mostly on tress and stairs, it's killin g me :( i was thinking that you can't get rid of them on 1080p but seeing, that you too play on that resolution maybe you know whats the deal here? I tried setting fxaa on 8x and supersampling 8x in nvidia control pannel, it helped, but very slighty.
That's a problem old as the game. However there are ways to combat it. One would be DLDSR in Nvidia CP which is quite resource demanding. Though my best personal method is to set x4 and SMAA on High. Then type this in the console "r3_msaa_alphatest st_opt_atest_msaa_dx10_1" Hit enter and restart the game. This command fixes the aliasing on trees, it was introduced a long time ago in Clear Sky :)

The anti-aliasing to x4 but you could set it to x2 as well. I’ve just noticed it looks the best on x4 for me but it impacts performance the higher you go. The command stays activated so you don’t have to type it every time :) This mainly helps with the trees. Unfortunately other objects are still going to have more or less aliasing. @@DarekkoZZ Do you have aa enabled at least by x2? If you don’t then the command won’t help much with the trees and foliage :) Yeah, aa is sort of broken but setting it to x2 or x4, paired with the command and SMAA on High or Very High will improve the image quality for sure. Works on DX11 as well. It won’t be 100% smooth but the foliage will look better. The command is meant for foliage especially.

For some reason campfires and some anomalies cause extreme stuttering (God forbid I get a campfire&anomaly combo) Sure my rig is a few years old but I've got no problem running most games on high/ultra. What gives??
Warfare is a nightmare in terms or performance tho, even with a very, very good rig. Stalker population has a huge impact and well, in warfare... Disabling HD models would be my priority tbh

it doesn't make the game unplayable by any means - but it would have been nice if there was a way to completely eliminate it.
EFP 2.5 iirc was the smoothest Stalker experience i ever had - 3.0 is awesome but i actually get a little more noticeable stutter with it even with low pop factors and offline combat disabled.
@@AvnerSenderowicz All this kind of games suffer from partially game engine optimization and code choices in npc ,Ai, model complexity, phyx etc (one of the reasons we like them),
cpu cores stall (low %) or produce a fraction of the output ipc dew to frequently have to go to main memory to load or to write code, using the best memory cl latency and big/fast cpu caches is a way to go,
but you have to spent money for server type hw that benefit little in other kind of gaming.
Thank you, I've been one of the testers for a while and can say that with all the different machines and hardware that pass through EFP 3.0 having performance tweaks is really nice to have, thx for doing this.
Glad to help!
Thank you Cheeki Breeki, can’t wait to get home and tweak the settings.
thank you so much!!! I discovered the game this year, and im playing it non stop! Keep making video dude, you are awesome.
Wow, your timing is perfectl, was just adjusting my settings :)
One more tip: try to change full-screen to borderless using in-game menu. It gave me around 30fps (not kidding) boost while playing in1080p.
Now there is no more fps drop while looking to a light source and less fps when I'm npc crowded places.
Those optimized textures in the discord completely got rid of my stuttering problem!
regarding Process Lasso
stalker engine can only use 1 core so the goal is to
- find out fastet core in cpu
+
- assign fastest core to stalker
+
- let the other cores do the rest
also give this core high priority
amd users can identify their fastest core with ryzen master
Intel xtu for ... well intel ^^
Great video, some settings I was unsure about in their, cheers Cheeki
a video for EFP 4.2 maybe?
I'm enjoying the 3.0 release and this type of guide is always very helpful, many thanks.
Thank you I was wondering why I always had low fps no matter what I do and then I saw this and removed hd models and it's fixed.
noooo :( I knew it now I have to disable it just to run well damnit
thanks for the tip though
Well, turning vsync on actually helps since the game is single-core. Maybe I’m wrong, but it helped me in balancing my performance without sacrificing graphics. But these are my 3 cents. It is good tutorial ofc
Ive noticed throughout the years Ive always had to test Vsync because like you said sometime I get a boost.
If you have a nvidia gpu I highly recommend trying the image scalling feature. Worked a little miracle here!
Just remember to check "reset graphics settings" in the launcher with your native resolution and then change it in-game. No apparent graphic loss.
yep me too, were talking +25 fps for me leaving me at a healthy 85fps 👀 Even took care of the god awful anti aliasing
I couldnt get it to work.. it always reset back to Aspect ratio settings instead of no scaling
can confirm draw distance having little effect on performance. even on large maps
Also mount shrine some very nice music choices, a man of culture.
I followed the video and now my game has these super pixilated shadow textures everywhere and they keep popping on and off I am now troubleshooting for a while but I can't get it back to normal any ideas which setting it is?
Found the solution
r2_gloss_factor set it to min 0.35
Definitely, thanks for sharing!
Now use image upscaling for full sauce
love your videos. I hope you'll get your spot once STALKER 2 launches!
oh that didnt age well
Such difference in settings from me. Gonna test this out after work!
what's your pc specs?? you should have listed it so that it is a baseline others can use as well, based from the settings you used in the video
Thanks! This helped a lot! Now I can enyoj efp on my potato laptop!
background music : mount shrine - empty slopes
Anyone know how to fix gun idle not working when yoy stand stiill but the sound of the gun idle works but no animation.
@@CheekiBreekiTv I honestly have no idea, probably something along those lines? Windows 10 has a lot of unnecessary bloat so I wouldn't be surprised.
@@juvenilia_in_hell Yeah I has to do with the stuff windows has connected to the internet running in the backround.
Great video, thanks!
biggest fps killer in imo is the the grass size. im usually going for grass size 0.9 or 1 and grass density on full 😎
Thank you for this video another excellent one and most needed. My 6 year old potato is now running EFP 3.0 much better and looks much better at a higher frame rate...
Great to hear ahahh!
From the discord:
To remove HD Models, do the following:
○ Disable the following mods:
► [Raito-x-Ray] HDModels Full
► [Compat] THAP & HD Models
► [Flashbangz] Sin Redux - HD Models
► [DNPCAV] HD Variety
○ Enable the following mods:
► [Gwub] LLTZ & Mysteries of the Zone - Vanilla
► [Compat] Vanilla Models & THAP & HD Icons
○ Note, you must do this before starting a new game, doing this during an existing save will crash your game, no way around it.
Hope it helps!
@@CheekiBreekiTv lol, I was just coming back to this video to check around the comments for this info, and here you already replied and answered my question in complete detail =D tysm! One of the things that had been giving me issues was finding the actual HDModels Full mod, due to me looking under the label that says "HDModelsFull & THAP". Don't know what would possibly make me think it would be placed there.... But Once I saw you type out the name, I facepalmed and alphabetized the loadout to find the mod. Hopefully this can get me back to solid 60+fps.
Whatever you do, don't set your Mutant/Stalker population to 3-4, that will cause problems for you lol!
Gloss factor in some pcs do BLACK SHADOWS or PIT BLACK SPOTS on the walls and map.
Keep it 0.5
Hey! Can you do a reshade guide? Should i use EFP or agressor re-shade? When i use agressor everything becomes very dark.
Good tutorial but not using vert sync AND keeping the fps limiter at 0 will make the videocard attempt to display several thousand fps at once which can lead to videocard failure. I'd know, that's how I burned my last videocard.
Do you have a video on how to place the mods in the proper category in m02? I’m still a novice on m02 I know if all mods are placed correctly they will all work and I have over 250 active so far, but not all of them that came with the download.
Thanks will try
Merci
@@paskaalisaapaskaa5354 I think it's a corrupt file. My broken, incomplete extraction resulted in concrete textures being colored blue.
@@CheekiBreekiTv Thanks man, keep up the great work, love :)
Hmm did you try to go in the troubleshooting section on the discord? Maybe other ppl had this issue already and have a fix for it!
@@CheekiBreekiTv ok i'll take a look at it , thanks
Ah I do have process lasso install for better performance, overall this is helpful
I'd ask for a list of the mods you use but I noticed your Mod manager had like 200 active lol
i dont know if he installed others mods on top but he’s using efp 3.0 wich is a modpack of over 200 mods adding tarkov mechanics to stalker anonaly
@@Cynical_Giro Thanks for the speedy assistance friend! I was foolish and thought EFP was a singular item in the load order like Provak's mod [even tho they both add alot] thanks again! I'll have to re arrange my mods for anomoly lol
@@7SFAmerica no problem wish u luck and fun
3:38, What is the aggressor shader mentioned here, and is it worth using it? Thanks :)
personally, 2.5 was WAYYY better for me, whereas now the mods and visuals seem off and performance is very bad on default settings unlike last time on 2.5. I might just switch back.
While my game was running fine before, now its running even smoother. Thank you for that, but is there a way to stop BaS intergrated long range scopes from tanking my FPS.
Thanks.
Well a lot of people have to play on DX9, because DX10-11 crashes especially on AMD GPUs
Sadly EFP removed their texture pack, is there any other recommendation for those of us who are trying to get gamma to run above 60 lol.
Hey, could you do a version 4.2 video? Or is this still relevant?
Hello, I really like this build, but I can't figure out the mods, could you please make a video about what mods you use in the original build, thanks in advance (it will help a lot)
u shoulda include ur spec so we can really benchmark ours to ur settings
Nice guide man, but it seems like that the custom fonts don't work. Any solution?
For educational purposes, what is your rig?
One thing that worked nicely to me is fiddling with nvidia control panel especially with antialiasing. Saved me some good fps!
Oh really? Do you mind sharing what you changed in nvidia control panel?
I have i7-4770k / 8GB RAM / GTX 1060, so really nothing impressive!
@@CheekiBreekiTv Mainly AF and AA and texture detail, as an EFP discord mod suggested. Turned these in-game options off as well. Gonna try your AO setting when I come home, Agressor AO is pretty ugly imo.
Btw, my rig is gtx 1660, ryzen 7 and 16mb ram.
One more thing, I tried using HD Models Lite and it messed up itens icons! Don't know how and it doesn't make any sense lol
i'm missing the ui at the bottom left...stamina man.. had it at start.. now have to press a key for it to show in the middle of the screen... can't find the option... help
ok i found! i pressed big ui..... so many options
@@err404or The DLDSR is not a option for me i think i have just 1050ti 4gb lol :D Set x4 to what? i have SMAA on high i will sure test that command options later today, but do i need to type them everytime i load a save?
The anti-aliasing to x4 but you could set it to x2 as well. I’ve just noticed it looks the best on x4 for me but it impacts performance the higher you go. The command stays activated so you don’t have to type it every time :) This mainly helps with the trees. Unfortunately other objects are still going to have more or less aliasing. But personally for me that’s acceptable.
@@err404or I heard from various sources on efp discord that aa option is not working in anomaly, but yeah i tried your command and it did nothing ;/ maybe bcs im using dx11, and there's something about dx10 in this command idk. Anyway i managed to get it looks not that bad with reshade effects, do you know maybe some tricks about cpu optimization i think i done all of them, but still getting drops of fps when there's bigger combat. i7 4790 on my side
The command is meant for foliage especially.
strange my setting look correct however nothing looks wet when raining. hmm
The Lighting option for me atleast it dit show up as you did and the effect option dint show up to what should i do? Playing this on 1.5.1
is there a guide on how to use the mod config menu in EFP?
What is the name of the music playing in the background of this video?
Sorry for asking this but I was looking for a installation guide video for HD models for EFP since the note inside the file was confusing for me personally so anyone has guide for the mod ?

Biggest problem with this mod is the glossy look of the ground. Anyone know of a way to tone it down?
I was complaining jn their discord today. I think the more I play warfare the more laggy it gets

In order of importance:
- Running the game on a SSD
- Reducing Stalker/mutant population (takes a couple in game days to get effect)
- Getting optimized texture packs
Thats the 3 main factors in min-freezes / stutters
@@CheekiBreekiTv does it need to be ran off an SSD or that's not good to do that. I got a C drive and a D drive

Just check if your C is a SSD and if yes make sure Stalker is installed on it!
To be fair, Using DX9 does not necesarily means your PC is a potato... It can also means the game runs in a AMD GPU...
