No joke, Halo 3 was the Fortnite of 2006-2009 in terms of hype and popularity. It was the biggest game of its time even though it was only on Xbox. It would have been on the trending page regularly.

We truly only knew when the credits rolled and you just sat your controller down, took a breath and soaked it all in. Thinking to yourself, what did I just partake in. That is when we knew H3 made history.
Imo it’s the best soundtrack in gaming history halo 3 was made with the intent of completing the trilogy and they did it beautifully from the story to the gameplay to the soundtrack
Damn... i wish i was born earlier. Me and my dad were still hyped for halo 3 when i was like 6 but I wasn't old enough to participate in the midnight launch. Though i remember when i got my 360 and freaked out and begged my dad for halo 3 because i played halo 1 and 2 with him. We eventually got it and oh my god i loved it. I still play MCC today. I remember being in college when this launched. It was the first glimpes at the power of the 360 with Master Chief. I remember watching this at least 4 times daily because I only had an HD capable computer in school. At home we onlyl had a CRT TV capable of 480i. Not too bad, but not the best. When the game launched, my brother and I got it on the first weekend and played the first night, finishing it in a straight round. It was GLORIOUS

should've ended with Reach, Halo 3 was such a perfect ending to the series narrative-wise. I thought reach had fun gameplay and a nice self-contained story.
I think the Bungie trilogy is pure gold, but the idea of continuing the story in a Forurunner focus kinda way was excellent too. A shame 343 made Halo 4 look weird, if they stayed with the same art direction as Halo 3 maybe 343 "reclaimer saga" wouldn't had the reception it had.

The look was a big part the music was also it didn't really have the hype drum best piano music every halo game has had it was more standard sci if inter stellar music. And the forunners being bullet sponges really made them boring to kill plus the create a class. 5 sucked but I'll give it one thing it did bring back the hype music.
16 years later and still no Halo has come close except for maybe reach. It was perfect. Matchmaking for pros and casuals, forge, one of best theater modes to this day. All in one 50$ game. While Infinite had 5 maps in matchmaking and a forgettable campaign. Infinite took 6 years to make fyi. It’s just sad how far gaming has come down. How did we let it happen.

I came for nostalgia and the amount of feelings that I have always when I watch this, let me with no words. Halo is legendary. I my love for it, as well.
Very few games have reached the summit of being a worldwide phenomenon. Halo 3 did it before the Modern Warfare series, before Skyrim, and way before GTAV. It was really the first of its kind in many ways. The ultimate blockbuster must-have. The all-night parties that celebrated the launch and the long lines to buy the physical copy on the day of release. There was something so pure and beautiful about the way Halo 3 brought all of those people together, knowing they were going to get the full experience from being there, and now all people do in preparation of a game launch is watch review videos to see how badly it's broken and whether or not you should even buy it at all... Everything has become so cynical and greedy that the fun and community doesn't matter anymore, it's all about sales and finding the one or two good games that actually deliver what they promised every year. I hate it. I wish we could go back to this so bad.
I remember going to my friends house almost everyday and we would split screen halo 3 allllllllll dayyyyy. Best memory from my childhood. Halo is the best fps series of all time imo.

This is the kind of trailer you create if you want to create hype....sadly they dont do trailers like this anymore, lot of things used to better in gaming back in the day...I remember how hyped I was about 2007 in general. Halo 3 ofc was clearly on top of that hype, but aside from that there was also Mass Effect, HL2: Episode 2, Supreme Commander, Command & Conquer 3, World in Conflict, Crysis and so much more.... I think 2004 was still overall the best year ever in gaming but 2007 definitely was the most anticipated/hyper year for me. Like you said even today wathing this trailer it makes me somehow feel/relive that hype again..sigh, I mean there are lot of great games that have come out and will come out since but I think Im just never gonna feel the same kind of hype I felt back in 2006-2007
