The biggest problem for Logan Paul is that he's had a history of being involved in rugpulls before cryptozoo and then personally set up something which from the outside looks like a rugpull and ultimately ended up being a rugpull, the only reason Logan didn't make any money off the project was because the scammers that he hired chose to scam Logan as well.
Well the lawsuit addresses the past “scams” as well, that they weren’t scams, and Coffee shouldn’t have called them scams. Dink doinl for example; Logan pumped it but never dumped and never sold anything, kept everythibg in his wallet

Even if they fixed it, many people lost lots of money due to a broken system and those people didn't recover their money. Plus, Coffeezilla is reporting on what he found or what people have come to him with, so it is a logical conclusion and would be hard to prove it's defamation in the US court. Logan would have to sue the witnesses and people who gave Coffee the fuel first
Doesn't Paul understand that as the leader of the project, the one who hired the other people, HE IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE? This is such a basic concept...
He has 5 lawyers. He stands to spend more money on this lawsuit than it would have taken to repay people he scammed.
I think Logan just wants to punish Coffiezilla by making him waste legal fees.
Which is really stupid considering Coffee is really open about having insurance just for this which means at worse his premium’s gonna go up
@@floofyboi7546 see, that's the thing. Do YOU want your insurance premium to go up? No. Nobody wants that. It's unfair.
But that's what happens. Too many people think that if you have insurance you don't lose anything. Wrong. You lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars per year + you lose lots of time and energy litigating. You still have to go hire a lawyer, talk to them for hours on end, pay them out of your pocket RIGHT NOW... That insurance isn't coming until the case is resolved.
And then there's a chance that either your insurance insists you use their discount attorney whose sole goal is to end the case as quickly as possible - or they refuse to fully cover your attorney because he's too expensive in their opinion.
There are a lot of potholes and caveats

Coffee can probably get a dozen lawyers to work on contingency on this ezpz case.
Not to mention the judge is going to SLAPP this sideways. This isn't going to survive a motion to dismiss.
The entire lawsuit is extremely broad and just talks generally of the tone of coffee's videos and doesn't quote exact passages of where the defamation occured, how it occured, and why it occured.
I paid people back (sorta not really) won't survive a dismissal. Especially when he only sorta not really paid 1/3 of people back. So what? It's 2/3 a scam?
Coffezilla exposed logan Paul & his people got scamming his Fans. Logan literally threatened coffee once before & ended up "Apologizing" on his second channel to coffee. Why sue now is Logan Crazy?

Texas has a 1-year statute of limitations for defamation, and it's a pretty strict limit -- re-publication doesn't extend it and none of the exceptions seem to apply. I wonder how the plaintiff's lawyer managed to get around it?

And most of what Coffee said has been proven true so... Yeah that's not gonna happen.
Paul says he was adamant about the project being perfect before release, but the project released in a state that barely functioned says otherwise. Also, Paul says there's messages about him wanting the best for the project, but the messages Zilla showed in his video seems to show the opposite. I seem to remember there being messages of Paul arranging that everyone sell at the same time and then getting really mad that someone double crossed them all and sold early screwing them over.
Not quite, they set up rules to "not manipulate the market" but the counter claim to that is that they acquired tokens before the public doing a stealth launch, so that's shady in its own right.
Logan actually told them to not sell as cryptozoo wasn't a shit coin, that being said... Those messages feel like a steaming pile of shit as there are such literally masterpieces as "we are making people's wildest dreams a reality" which is a bit of an overstatement just for putting a trunk on a stock image of a panda, and feel... A bit deliberate if I allow my CSI brain a creative license 😅 overall I think the idea was to "eventually" rug pull once enough traction was developed, but he got scammed first. Evidence of this??? When he is furious with crypto king about how the liquidity pool value decreased after "the bot" was toying with the coin... Yeah, not at all what his lawsuit says "he wasn't concerned about the price" or "why do we have to make it go up, why couldn't just be?" Then doing that kind of 180 when... He realized he was not be getting the bag and instead, he was the one holding it 😂

Sounds to me like Logan is trying to play the unaware idiot, that did nothing wrong and everybody around him were to blame who did the scam. When he hired the people, was the creator of the project and face of it. And also this was not the first case, where Logan exploited his fans.
Logan's lawsuit read like an excuse. I wonder if the main purpose of this lawsuit is to lay a narrative explanation (aka. getaway speech) to convince people who lose money on this so called crypto. Doing so while take a stab at his enemy. The logan's lawyer would have know all about anti-slapp and public figure deformation case and how hard it is...

Texas' SLAPP statute does not apply to federal court cases. They recently decided that and IIRC there is no federal SLAPP statute yet.

Still costs money to do that. Logan doesn't have to win the case. He just has to make Coffee spend a lot of money. This lawsuit is the definition of a SLAPP suit but I don't know if there are rules for that where the case is filed.

Where did Benjamin Franklin get his journalism degree from? My opinion is that folks with a journalism degree just learn how to rewrite corporate and government press releases. A college buddy went into PR and his portfolio was full of the his PR releases with the published news article, most were copy-paste with only a few words changed here and there.

Incorrect! Only if it is the government or a government agency doing the compelling does it violate the first amendment. If the judge was to uphold the compelled speech then yes, it's a violation. But someone compelled another to say what they want the other to say by bribing or threats, that does not violate the first amendment. This is something most Americans get wrong, the freedom of speech is only protection from government, not private individuals or companies.
I'm British BTW, a foreigner knows the first amendment better than most American which is sad.

My guess is that Logan’s hoping to annoy Coffee and drain cash (he may not be aware of Coffee’s insurance).
I think that he’ll probably file as many motions to delay the trial as possible and prevent Coffee from using anti-SLAPP laws to dismiss it.

He's the head of the project! Ignorance isn't a defense and it's reasonable to point the finger at Paul too even if you give hum the benefit of the doubt! A scam is a scam. Coffee is only reporting on testimony and his findings as a journalist. Paul doesn't have a case here.
