this engine is not the only available option, you can do pretty much the same with newer BMW series engines M57 lots of modifications, easy to push them towards 400Hp region. A lot of parts available since the engine is newer. One of the most popular mods is to take the injectors and bigger turbo from 210Kw twin turbo engine, this will give you easy 400Hp alone. It might be even easier to work on then this om606. m57 is also good for around 500-600hp without changing inner parts.

Diesels are becoming more popular and I'm all for it. Nothing like quiet, high power and high torque. I had no idea how crazy those Duramax diesels are, too. Super cool to see how tame they seem but how rowdy they get.
You can tune them at some extent, increasing/decreasing fuel amount. When they changed the boost, they should have changed the fuel amounts as well. The black smoke is because the air/fuel ratio is not correct. It might be because the engine does not get enough air, thats why further tuning it might require to supercharge it as well :)
@super hessu It isn't as simple as that. If it was strictly a drag vehicle what you said would be true, but a street vehicle has many more variables. Even common rails that are tuned to "perfection" will still smoke heavily on the street under numerous circumstances. With mechanical injection its even harder to make it have minimal smoke on the street, even under full boost.
@super hessu it is a sort of “rule of thumb” but just because it is smoking on boost doesn’t mean there’s too much fuel. Temperature, elevation, and others can contribute to smoke. He is also stomping on the throttle like an N/A vehicle, if he brake boosted it would more than likely smoke less on his highway pulls
The 240 has came a long way, great work on the car! reminds me of when me and my dad used to build up his 1999 BMW 540i. Kickass car and love the content!

If you tune a engine to run clean with the current turbo it'll always pickup power if you give it extra fuel. Sure there's a limit after which it's excessive yet the basis is still there, max power is smokey
